  1. I'm up to mission 4 now and it was a random thing, thanks for checking it out though. DCA AI continues to surprise me - this morning I had two AI P-51s decide to ditch tanks and drop flaps after take-off, and then fly inverted at about 120 mph in the wrong direction!
  2. Not sure who's being serious about what, but no, there's no link between 5G and COVID. There are unfortunately some dishonest people, and some others who are easily fooled, who keep banging on about conspiracies that don't exist.
  3. Hi, yes I'm on the latest open beta. I didn't mind about the flak but maybe if it's going to happen every time I will!
  4. I just bought and started the campaign, and so far the immersion and setting is great. Mission 1 was fine, but on mission 2 my numbers 2 and 3 both bailed on the climb-out, presumably for fuel, but four was fine so I don't know. I then got hit twice by flak before we saw any enemy and ditched in the channel, but hey ho!
  5. Yes, indeed, thanks to petritis for fixing the meshed rotors. Now it's just impossible to land on the target roof! It feels like there are invisible geometries to the roof. I don't mind having to take NVG off for the landing, that feels plausible to me given the ambient light all around from the fires.
  6. Thanks for taking the time to test this (and Happy New Year by the way). Hopefully ED can identify the issue now.
  7. Hi Flappie, I think it is the new ZSU 57 that breaks it. Maybe it puts the JTAC off his game somehow! Could you do me a favour and check the attached mission please? Both JTACs are on 251 MHz, Axeman is the Southern, which I think won't work, Springfield is the Northern which will. AFAC UTM.miz
  8. As I'm home for the holidays I had time to quickly try again. The JTAC definitely has line of sight, but you can see the issue clearly here. Mission attached for reference. FA-18 JTAC Issues.trk F-18 AFAC 2.miz
  9. It definitely has line of sight in these cases. The issue is not that it doesn't work at all, but that it doesn't progress through the communications properly. So sometimes it will respond to the initial check in, give the nine line, but when I say ready to copy remarks it will never respond. It also takes two calls from me at various points, e.g. in the cases where ready to copy remarks does produce a response it consistently ignores my first call.
  10. Actually, I take that back, I added more units around each JTAC and it was fine still, so there must have been something amiss in the original setup, but I haven't done anything different as far as I can tell. JTAC OK.trk
  11. I've spent some more time trying to understand this. It seems the JTAC gets confused if there's more than one enemy group in its area. In the attached track I have two JTACs each with only one enemy group to think about and it works mostly ok. JTAC issues 2.trk
  12. I've just come across this today as I've started learning the hornet a little. Is it on the list somewhere for fixing after the review?
  13. I had to go down to about 24000, but that did let it load. Time to order some more RAM. Honestly, DCS is like the gateway drug to spending on hardware.
  14. If I try to run the MI-8 instant action missions on the Syria map it CTDs on loading or after a very short time. This doesn't happen with other aircraft, although I am getting large freezes for the first twenty or thirty seconds on loading, e.g. the F-16 instant action mission. dcs.20201221-084144.crash dcs.20201221-084144.dmp dcs.log
  15. On the latest open beta I'm having issues with the JTAC. I've tried ground and air JTACs, and I've tried this with the AV-8B, F-16, F/A-18 and A-10C II as the player aircraft. The JTAC responds to the first call, and gives me 9-line, but stops responding after that when I say I'm ready to copy remarks. The attached track shows it with the F/A-18, but the result is pretty much the same whatever airframe I use. JTAC issues.trk
  16. Not everyone hates, I still like the harrier and would recommend it.
  17. By the way, a CE mark on a product is not something the manufacturer has to pay for. It's a mark they apply to declare that they have followed the relevant EU directives when making the product. Different directives will apply to different products, and the manufacturer must be able to support their use of the Mark with a technical file containing documentation relevant to the directives used. It is possible that complying with the directives will cost the manufacturer some money because they may have to perform certain tests so that know they comply, e.g emc testing is not cheap. However, all the directives do really is ensure that products are safe and properly engineered, so they are a good thing.
  18. Have you tried tieing both throttles to a single axis, just for test purposes? Sent from my Mi 9T Pro using Tapatalk

    Laser JDAMs

They definitely work as laser JDAMs, at least in some modes. I dropped them last night and 100% confirmed they can be diverted with the laser after launch Sent from my Mi 9T Pro using Tapatalk
  20. Thanks for the update, those new classes look good! EDIT: Removed an issue which was just me being stupid!
  21. How many people in these threads can actually say with any authority what's right or wrong? The only post in the thread that has even second hand feedback from an actual hornet pilot is positive, every thing else might just be typical internet bs. Sent from my Mi 9T Pro using Tapatalk
  22. Looks amazing, thanks so much for your work on it! Sent from my Mi 9T Pro using Tapatalk
  23. They've been working fine for me in the latest open beta patch. Sent from my Mi 9T Pro using Tapatalk
  24. I find the wingman to be a bit more of a pain in the harrier than in other modules. As far as I can tell they can't do these things: - land on the Tarawa - target a specific ground unit I have targeted with pod or DMT - be trusted to refuel without driving through me to get to/from their basket (I think this is a problem for all modules at the moment) But they can do these things: - take off from the Tarawa as long as not too heavy - engage ground targets of their own choosing - do relatively well not getting shot down by SAMs - AAR without issue if I don't let them collide with me Is that about the state of things, or am I doing things wrong?
