  1. Any updates on this? I'm having this issue too.
  2. I added nyogel as soon as I got it, this still doesn't prevent it from falling down on its own when you let go at the lower throttle positions. Falling down on its own is made even worse when a bass shaker goes off for obvious reasons.
  3. I'm surprised they haven't made this change to their collective yet. I guess not many people use the extension enough to complain? Fully extended the collective falls down on its own in the lower positions even after I have cranked down on the adjustment screws to max tightness. And like you said, it gets stiction when you have them that tight. A counterweight solves all the issues.
  4. @Jagohuhow about now that the recent open beta had a ton of wing sweep changes?
  5. Any updates on this bug? Have a mission that doesn't work and it would be great to have it working as the workaround breaks immersion.
  6. I wouldn't say that applies to everyone, if you plan to keep the same cpu for 3-5 years and say upgrade your GPU in a couple years, then it might make more sense to get a DDr5 board and upgrade the ram later to lower latency.
  7. That's true for synthetic benchmarks but gaming doesn't use as much power. So, I'd expect you to be able to max out the processor in DCS with a cheaper motherboard. BUT, that said if you're building a new rig around a $600 processor, and all of the other expensive components (with the covid tax these days)... and plan to overclock it, I'd get the same power that you did too just for the peace of mind.
  8. 32GB of DDR5 5200mhz is fine for now, just resell it later and buy better RAM if benchmarks come out showing a dramatic improvement. The only reason I wouldn't upgrade to Alder Lake is if you have a recent gen and are happy with your performance.
  9. Hoping we get a the mosquito build pushed to stable soon
  10. Guess not enough people have the collective yet Apar, what have your findings been since you posted? Do you just crank down on it hard enough so it doesn't fall down on its own / if you accidently tap it? How bad is the stiction once its that tight? I cant imagine they thought people would use it so loose that it didn't stay up on its own? Or did they only really test it without the extension and then added the extension as an after thought?
  11. Did you ever figure this out? I'm having the same issue.
  12. Why would you set the wmr default steamvr app motion reprojection mode to 'auto' when you're clearly trying to use the DCS per app setting, that you set to force always-on?
  13. Yeah it left some residue I took off with goo gone.
  14. You can sit here for days imagining the best way to tackle this problem, or you can have the nose gap back in literally 15 seconds. The rubber peels off very cleanly. Nothing will tear, just take your time. The glue holding it on is not strong, and it is easy to re-apply any glue of your choosing (from museum glue to super glue) to put it back if needed. You might even be thinking well I don't want to remove the entire thing, just the part that will let me see through the gap to find my beer! Well, how are you going to cut a clean straight line with that thing still glued into the headset? Its much easier to cut it with it removed, then glue back into place. Once I took the entire thing off I realized I didn't need to put any of it back, its not uncomfortable one bit for an average sized nose.
  15. Just start in one corner and slowly peel the entire thing off. The nosegap is perfect and small with it completely removed and reminds me of the stock gap on other headsets. You can always glue it back later.
  16. Not sure what features one would get from installing the beta version of SteamVR / WMR for Steam VR, but G2 support was added to the stable / release build back in october... there is no need to use beta.
  17. No one cares about artificial benchmarks, those don't tell you if you change from a i7 7700k to a i9 10900k your performance in dcs multiplayer vr on a specific test mission will increase by X % which is what people are asking for. Ed needs to build this into DCS so that in the test the AI behaves the same way every time. Maybe that's not possible with the current engine, but it would be better than what we have now. It could just be an instant action mission called benchmark where the player doesn't have control over the aircraft nor the ability to change views, and it spits out your fps at the end.
  18. Its not in the main DCS install directory, should be in saved games \Saved Games\DCS\Scripts\export.lua
  19. Yeah that has been happening since day 1 for me, immediately commented it out. Not worth taking a performance hit (in a game where you have no performance to spare) for an APU light.
  20. I noticed they don't ship to the USA anymore, you have to be in the EU to order the product. In fact, even in their shipping FAQ they have removed all references to shipping to the US which used to say it was free of charge. So you guys successfully scared them off with all your demands to receive the product you paid for, how dare you.
  21. Yes there is more play in the pitch direction than the roll direction. This must be due to the design of the gimbal and the way each axis is attached / supported to the frame. However, you can greatly reduce the play with extensive tweaking as MustangSally is referring to. Removing the case and making micro adjustments until it feels good. IMO this should not be required on a product of this caliber. Why is it so hard to default set it to a hard center stop without slop in the center? I could rant all day about this design, but it is what it is so here is how I adjust it: Watch the video with a grain of salt, it has good information and is mandatory IMO, the manual cant come close... but it doesn't tell the whole story and your cams might not even look like theirs do in the video: Take the case off, install your desired cams & springs then mount the joystick with the case off (so its stable). Plug in the USB connector and connect it to the computer so you can monitor the axis' readout with SimAppPro. Note, for obvious reasons at this point you have to be extremely careful going forward to not cause a short on the circuitry. Loosen both X & Y dampers fully. Loosen all 4 adjustment (CSD / Center Stop Device) screws Pick an axis (I start with X) and turn one screw in until the cam barely contacts the axis bearing. You may see the stick move when it makes contact, if so back it off a hair. You want it to barely kiss it. Then, do the same thing with the other screw. Now feel it, is there still too much play? If so alternate tightening each screw by micro adjusting them one after the other until the play is gone. You really have to turn them only fractions of an millimetre it seems. Any large adjustment and you've screwed the pooch. *Note Don't let the shaft / stick get off center during this process. Keep that axis bearing in the center of the cams at all times because were not trying to get an asymmetrical setup here. Repeat for the other axis. OK now the hard part, keep it feeling good (no play) with the return to center in SimAppPro showing as close to the value 32767 (center of the axis) as you can get. Do this on both axis. To do this you will need to turn one screw and note the value change on your screen. Head towards the direction of 32767. But now you have introduced some play into the system right? Turn the other screw the same amount to nullify it. You probably cant get it to return exactly to 32767 (I couldn't) so aim for it to return as close to there as possible (what is ideal? I aimed for + or - 300). Now step 8 is the most tedious and is important because it seems there is no way during calibration to define what is the "center" of the axis. So say you got it feeling good, looking good visually but your return to center ends up being a bit off from 32767, maybe 30,000 on the nose. Well with this number your aircraft will always have input in a direction unless you set a deadzone (which I assume were trying to avoid on a high caliber joystick). But why is this? Why is there no "leave the joystick centered and press a button" during the calibration wizard? This has to be an oversight, right? I am very interested to hear your feedback or an alternative method to get this to work. Did I miss the centering calbiration feature in the software entirely? Please share thoughts and methods to try to make this process easier. Or maybe most people dont care about play in the center of the stick and want a soft center with a bit of play which is why they designed it this way? I purchased the stick after watching this video where it seems to have a hard defined center. One thing I notice is my cams dont look like that, those cams in the video look like they would provide a harder defined center with less slop, and be easier to adjust since it would be more obvious when the cam is contacting the bearing. My cams are pretty much touching eachother.
  22. I disagree, DCS performance in VR (especially multiplayer) is... poor. Even if you have a 2080ti you can struggle to maintain 45fps if you want to enjoy the "bells and whistles" such as using 2x MSAA to eliminate shimmer, shadows, whatever. Running FPS VR to chart the distribution of GPU & CPU frametimes will typically show the GPU is struggling to keep up with the CPU, until you start throwing in some crazy mission specific events (lots of units, GRAD spam, etc). So yes I would expect a 3090 would significantly reduce GPU frametimes, and might even get them in line with the ideal 11.1 m/s for 90hz in something like the flight over tibilsi test.
  23. They probably meant if you write a review as you see fit (honest review) and you drum up a good following that leads to increased sales they will compensate you. Not that they want people to write fake reviews and get paid for them. What happened was they sent out review units and the reviewers (you can see the videos on youtube) said they didnt think the product was ready yet, so winwing made some changes but not all of the changes the reviewers requested. So there is now a stalemate, reviewers said make ALL the changes and we will review the product. Winwings stance is we made the changes we thought were necessary based on your feedback and were not sending out more free shit after this headach you've put us through, our products speak for themselves.
  24. I would suggest anyone who can afford to buy from him should do so, I suspect his seat costing $100 more is why people don't (Even at the $200 price point this product is overpriced). But as for the extra $100 ontop of a overpriced product, it's highly customized by him so you get what you pay for with that extra $100. The control box looks better designed on the realtus, it would be nice to see a tear down to see if quality has improved all around compared to the old jetseat.
  25. Yeah anyone know if steam vr reprojection is up to snuff with asw yet? I've had it off for ages because it was garbage in DCS. Formation flying with the guy next to you ghosting like crazy and the frame of your aircraft / grab handels looking like jigglin jello
