  1. Joy2key only needs two presses to get the job done. Chain sequence, chain events lets you program the first sequence chain function (example button 12... UP position) to Open the guard, the second sequenc event will flip the switch. Since joy2key sees the on/off condition of the switch as two different buttons each position can have up to four chain, sequence events when activated. Your down position would be button 13, down posion of button and you just tell it to flip the guard switch down. In the P-47 to arm one bomb takes three different functions to arm a bomb. One one switch I'll get the ACTIVE UP button 12, to seq. 1- flip up guard, seq. 2- flip up switch, on the front Bomb panel, seq. 3- pull up the bomb arm lever on the left rear onsole up. Bomb Armed..... drop bomb...... DEACTVATE DOWN button 13, seq. 1- flips down the guard, seq. 2 lowers the arm lever. I use this to arm Left bomb, Right bomb and Belly Station. Easy Peasy... Improvise, Adapt, Overcome....... GySgt Highway....
  2. Un-bind your throttles and use each lever for its specific engine. If you yaw to the left, bump the left throttle a bit more, and vice versa if you yaw right. Its kind of like using a T-handle stearing device. This works for taxi,, and take-off runs. You won't need to use the over sensitive breaks. There is a thread somewhere on how to adjust curves to slow down the sudden locking of the breaks. Good luck
  3. I found un-binding my TM Warthog throttles, and using each lever individually for each engine, its much easier to keep it straight on the runway. If I yaw to the left, increase the left throttle a bit and she straightens out. And vice versa...... once airborne, rebind your throttles if you wish.
  4. The ALR-67 is connected to the Quad Reciever, the Quad receiver is connected to four antennas, two in each wingtip. One on the leading edge one on the trailing edge, that cover 360⁰. The Quad Reciever is basically a signal multiplexer that takes those received RF signal and sorts them to range and bearing to your plane in real-time space. The ALR-67's threat library tells you what type of threat it is and it's priority. Think of the RWR indicator as a moving map display with you in the center. It's constantly moving in relation to yor position in the battle space. AT1(AW/SW) USN ret.... 1977-1997... DECM technician W/C 64C.
  5. Put it on your AV exemption list.... in fact put all your DCS stuff, DCS game folder, Saved Games folder, TIR, SRS, and any Joystick programs...
  6. Don't forget about Spuds video on making all your game and related folders exempt in your preferred AV. https://youtu.be/JshLOxeX3dM?si=7l4NAvwcCjvgTn0x
  7. Keep the ball in the middle of the slip indicator with rudder control. Keep your turn speed around 270 mph..... Don't be too poor to pay attention to your instruments.
  8. For those of you who may be interested... You can find them on eBay... Link I've seen some people wanting to know if there was a solution to the wiggle and weakness of the shaft, and some pretty interesting solutions. I have one and it works great. On your stick, remove one set screw at a time and put some Loctite on it, and screw it back in. That way they won't back out, and not too much, you might want to replace a switch in the future. Good Luck
  9. Get one of these joystick collars, can't remember where I found it... Temu, eBay, or Reddit... two pieces held together with four magnets, you could print your own if you measure it. It will also stop the over-aggressive from snapping their stick. Put Loctite on the Allen screws and tighten them, they will stay that way. Edit: Found it on eBay... here's the LINK
  10. Do you plan on including the TM Viper TQS and the Viper Panel templates? Thanks, Hoss
  11. You are talking about the AN/ALR-67.... it replaced the AN/ALR-45/50 and 45F... the AN/ALR-45F could have its Threat Library updated via satellite. We got the new Program and programmed EEPROMs. Then the 67 came out... but it was exclusively an F/A-18 RWR. What you are talking about is urban legend..... The DLQ-3 was an early example of of the ALQ-167 https://man.fas.org/dod-101/sys/ac/equip/an-alq-167.htm I did not work on the ALQ-100s, they went in F-14s. The ALQ-126A was what I worked on most. It covered Cold War era early SAMs, I made the last WESTPAC with the A-7s in VA-94. The Hornets, had the ALQ-126B. The Alphas had old bandpass crystal detectors, old TWTs.... The ALQ-126B used solid state detectors, Solid State Low Band Input Amp instead of the TWT. There were no longer upper and lower deck inter connect cables. There was an interconnect at the rear that mated upper and lower decks. There is always a problem of repair parts becoming obsolete and hard to requisition. And yes, the freq. ranges got higher, along with updated deception techniques.
  12. AN/ALQ-167..... No.... I did not... I did however work on the AN/DLQ-3B/C which was the precursor... that was in 1988, during Operation Preying Mantis.. they were programmed to deceive the Iranian F-14, F-4 RADARS... The ALQ-126 would not respond to RADARS, not in the Threat Library... They were never used as far as I know... not on our cruise anyway... I was in VA-94...
  13. Yes, the Intruder and Prowler could carry two 126s.... but the Prowler just carried weights in both stations.... the Intruder carried weights in the Turtle back.... behind the cockpit.... and the 126s in what I remember calling the dog house. Qs weighed 199 lbs.
  14. It's not bad, I use TARGET GUI & SCRIPT. but I use Joy2key for my BlackHog, but I found while Using SCRIPT with the TMWH I can still program Sequence presses with Joy2key on the WH, you just have to tell Joy2key you want to use 120dx presses for your custom profile. Because default is 32. When using TARGET GUI you are emulating a keyboard, Joy2key can stay at 32.
  15. Yeah I saw that one guys video on YouTube where he tried all kinds of settings. And you could see the jittery shadows no matter what he tried, post hotfix.
  16. Don't you have to have a 4000 series VGA to get DLSS to work?... 3080ti here, and it doesn't make any difference on my system with that VGA and a 1440 monitor at 144hz... and it still has artifacts in shadows from what I saw on Youtube tests.
  17. Avionics systems are different between them as well. The WRA's (Weapons Replaceable Assemblies) will still have the same nomenclature.. i.e. FIRAMS, FCES, but have different - "Dash" numbers, or completely new part numbers and NIIN's Example the Signal Data Converter that gives you all your input for the IFEI is like 1699136G10.. the updated version in the Super Hornet is the -12 SDC.. Naval Aviation has what's called the AIM.. Aircraft Interchangeability Matrix.. for the C/D it tells you what aircraft either the -11 or -12 SDC goes into. and what SRA's are interchangeable between compatible WRA's i.e. the -9, -10, -11 SDC's. (they all go in the C/C. None are compatible with the -12 for the Super Hornet. C/D's are still flown by some Marine squadrons until they receive F-35's. C/D avionics systems are quickly become totally obsolete for spare parts, IC's, and other discrete components are damn near impossible to obtain except through cannibalization. I worked for 24 years for Boeing at NAS Lemoore's Avionics Repair Facility. We never touched a piece of E/F equipment. We did erroneously received some SRA's from DLA.. but we could not test them, had no documentation on them. And they were not covered under the yearly contract we had to negotiate every year. The C/D will cover any conflict we have maps for now, so getting an E/F wouldn't make any difference. Now the Advanced Super Hornet is a different story.... That's what everyone should be Faunchin' and Bellerin' about. There, is a big update in capabilities.
  18. "What do I want to see in DCS" Having a relevant plane inventory for the map and "ITS" time period. And to stop making modern maps where nothing has happened since the mid-70s. i.e. Sinai... What drives this is everyone's nearsightedness.... having to have the latest airplane.. the latest controllers... Powerhouse computers to run VR, triple screens..... You would buy a hanger queen under the pretext of supporting a developer for further DLC'Ss. You can tell by reading their Signature at the bottom of the post. And Dubai doesn't look anything like it did when I was last docked at Jebel Ali and traveled into Dubai in Sept.95... But at 30,000 ft who gives a rodent's arse what's down at ground level... well, Mudmovers care...... When you go to do a Six-Day War attack in Egypt, 2023 Cairo isn't the same as 1967 Cairo, Egypt. Or Yom Kippur in 1973, this is the last big battle in the Sinai.. most everything else on a large scale, that took place with Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and now Gaza and HAMAS... DCS makes some great models, but giving us a realistic battle space to exercise those models is its greatest downfall, and why I guard my money jealously when it comes to modules. If it doesn't change (improve) the form, fit, or function of a time period map, I won't buy it. It's a WASTE of funds. For WWII, there is no map for the I-16, or Lavochikin... total waste of money... Marianas Is. is the only map with dual purposes WWII and modern-day maps.. Not a lot has happened in the Pacific since WWII, but I digress again into a soft rant... I'm cringing thinking if we get a Korean Peninsula map, Seoul will be modern... and say a prayer for N/S Vietnam... JM2CW Hoss
  19. TARGET has been updated to include TQS system components. It works great and solves all the problems I'm hearing about in here. Cheers Hoss Never put off until tomorrow what you can avoid altogether. A clean desk is a sign of a cluttered desk drawer. All you need in life is ignorance and confidence, and then success.
  20. There are Virpil (CP#2) WinWing (PTO2) BlackHog (A), Thrustmaster WH, TM_TQS Viper Panel, Crosswinds, and K51 Trim Box components in my reach right now. Figured I won't be using the Virpil example in my under-construction Left Console, it just didn't tickle my fancy much. I'm really waiting to see just how well the Viper Panel works with the WartHog HOTAS in TARGET, GUI, and SCRIPT (TM_Combined) So..... I won't buy anything else until I figure out if I can get all these buttons, switches, and axes to work in TARGET GUI, for IL2. If there's ever a need for another box I'll probably have to get an NLR rig to mount it all on..... of course... oh and a new monitor... monitor stand, (triple monitor?) another keyboard, mouse, headphones (wireless?)..... etc... etc... Doooooohhhhh!!!!!!!! “Buy what you have no need of and before long you will sell your necessities.”
  21. LOL, okay, I will definitely attempt this at some point. I've got two custom files now. I'm at a bit of a loss as to where to start numbers. What do you need to know?, the name, numbers of the buttons?... there are two modes 32, and 43 button virtual mode. I emailed these guys when I got my panel and there was no TARGET update, they actually emailed me back when they uploaded it. I guess I could take screen shots when I actually get the Left Console I'm building done, TARGET updated, Complete DX updated. DCS updated I'll get my "Round Tuit" activated and see what the GUI screen looks like and take a screen shot of it for you, you will know the button names. 32 and 43 virtual mode. Thanks
  22. Hey Sedenion, I'm in the middle of rebuilding my HOTAS setup. Ive been using your SCRIPT with a TMWH HOTAS, I've recently got my hands on a Viper Panel. I have not updated anything, DCS or TARGET. So I'm asking; guilty of ignorance on my part, but is 2.2 ready, or are you still working on a SCRIPT that will allow a user to add the Viper Panel, like you would an MFD to your 120 dx count? By customizing our button states 1/0 where we need it with a TMWH HOTAS in the Complete SCRIPT profile? Thanks for the SCRIPT update so quick, I'm really looking forward to seeing what you have given us.
  23. It's plug and play with the F-16, you will probably need a good SCRIPT/GUI profile for anything else. Remember it has two modes.... 32 button and Enhanced 43 button. Which mode is plug and play? Read the TM TARGET new release notes, as it reguards to the TQS Throttle and Panel. Good Luck!
