The only Su-30 mods available on lockonfiles are brit's and one to sub for the Su-27, both of them say 1.02 only. If there are others elsewhere I don't know about them. I think I can live with it saying su-33 and looking su-30 to keep the mod as simple as possible, and I definitely want it associated with the su-33 data so I can operate from the Kutz and A-A refuel. If no other Su-30 mods are pointed out to me, I'll test with 1.12a when my FC gets here and then upload it to lockonfiles if all is well.

Ok, I made a new loman pack that works great in 1.02 (still waiting for my copy FC to test in 1.12a), One question how do I get it to show up as Su-30KM and not Su-33? Only files I used were textures and the Su-33.cmd from your previous mod.

Ok so I'm going to create a new loman file...and I assume if I use the cmd and bmp files from the old mod it will overwrite the su-33 as before right? So textures go in temp textures and the cmd files go where? I'm waiting for my copy of FC from gogamer to arrive, when it gets here hopefully I'll be ready for it! :) O btw when I get it working would you mind if I submit the mod to lockonfiles under your name? I don't know why I think that two-seater is so damn sexy but I do...thanks again for your help!

I'm not really interested in the ability to fly from the back seat or the dual controls, I mainly want to be able to use the Su-30 exterior model and skins for the Su-33, like the first part of the mod. Is it possible to just use the first part with FC?

Is your Su-30 internet mod compatible with FC? If not do you have plans to update it? I only ever used the first part, but I will miss it if it's not compatible!

the pit shots you refer to were during a mission with 53 A/C and 70k lbs of dumb bombs on screen...if thats your normal FPS something is wrong... Here's a shot with only me in the mission checking out tress from the pit: and here's one from the mission with all the bombs on the ingress: Only time I'm under 35 FPS in the pit is when I am flying low over a big ground fire, or during a mission with ALOT of ordinance sucking up cycles.

Shadows are all planar, and haze I use Hawq11's skyfix for basic haze users. As I stated in the above thread it was a huge FPS improvement with my old card so I just left it. To be honest I can't tell a difference between that fix and advanced haze, but I sure do notice a huge FPS boost. Thanks Hawq11! Since taking these shots I've started using med water, and that eats up like 5-10 FPS down low, but shadows and haze are perfect the way they are. as far as eye-candy, heat blur and trees are eye-candy to me after how i had to run my old card!

12FPS sounds low to me...I have an XFX 6800GS, I run everything on high except water(low), effects(low), and visible range (med). I use 1.02 for the same reason as your dad. No SF, No CD check.

For every post I read saying "I've had no problems", there's another one with tales of problems. It's all just words on a screen, each side as open to inaccuracy and misinformation as the other. Until you install SF and see what (if anything) breaks for yourself it's all internet hearsay. I for one don't see opting to avoid "possible" issues as paranoia, I see it as pragmatism. Why should I have to buy a product and then wonder if it will hose my system? Is it worth a $15 game to bring my $1500 machine to its knees? And on top of that there are plenty of sims out there to keep busy with, so while I know I'm missing out on the Su-25T, I can't in good conscience spend money on something that may be more trouble than it's worth. As I said in another thread, at this point it's not about whether SF is PROVEN to break stuff, it's about it's POTENTIAL to break stuff. You call it paranoia I call it cost/benefit analysis...Maybe one day when ED decide FC's shelf life has expired, I'll be able to get a non-SF version, until that day I'll continue to enjoy 1.02:icon_syda!

I don't mean to offend, but why spend all the time and effort to make LO's campaign something it will never be, when there is a combat flight sim out there that provides exactly the type of multiplay experience you claim to want?

When Ubi released FarCry did it also announce the exact date it would drop in price? No, but they called it FarCry:Extreme! And when you emailed Ubi and posted on their forums about it the only response you get is made through a respected third party who says he was told by Ubi that Extreme was not FarCry, but an older version with less features. Then 4 months after you paid $50 for it, you found out Extreme IS FarCry. Certainly you could have still been willing to pay $50 rather than wait 4 months...but wouldn't you rather have made that choice based on all the information? *note this post is a complete work of fiction, and is in no way meant to characterize any actual companies or business practices*

All I intended with this post was to get some TRUTH out of ED. How this became about falcon's graphics I don't know.... Anyone who asked months ago if Gold was 1.1 and was told it wasn't straight from the horse's mouth (or as close as you apparently can get to ED's mouth) and then bought FC from NP or DL should feel suckered because they were. And another post I read is right, ED is screwed either way. If they keep their mouths as shut as ever, alot of people are going to write them off, if they admit the hoodwinked their fans for some extra $$$...well they probably can't imagine that's good for them either. And I will definitely agree that most everything in this post is conjecture...but in absence of TRUTH that's all there is.

well I just saw the post from Han..seems ED does support this version and apparently has since the beginning. Sad, if they had come out and said "we need cash, please buy the download version or the NP version to help us make more money" the community would have said "OK!" instead they decide to take advantage of a situation and gouge their most loyal fans....very sad...

yeah it seems ED has raped their hardcore fans with this surreptitious release of the Gold version. I hope they made enough money off of telling people that Gold was not 1.1 when they knew it was.
