While around 1st waypoint, about to either attack vehicle convoy or in dogfight with 190's, the engine always dies and windmills with flames coming out of the exhaust stacks. I try to cut mixture, engage booster coils, use wobble pump, etc. to restart, but alas - Pierre ends as PoW or KIA. :( I have tried the following fuel combinations from T.O: - fuel pump off, and tank pressurization off - fuel pump on, and tank pressurization off - fuel pump on, and tank pressurization on - fuel pump off, and tank pressurization on No change, engine dies every time, after which I am of/course unable to restart. Can someone offer some advice so that Pierre can finish is wartime flying career as he is supposed to? BR Tintin P.S. I have watched PhilStyle flying all these missions on YouTube - carefully. But my Merlin does not want to purr... (Perhaps I shall ask for a Packard...)

Same here: - stable version always boots as it should with Full Screen := TRUE - beta version always boots with Full Screen = FALSE and sometimes with Full Screen := TRUE; FYI: I have an old system running DCS somewhere between Med. and Full gfx settings but somehow I do not think it is the general gfx settings that is the culprit. I think it has something to do with the moment when DCS "assumes monitor priority" or something like that. Gentlemen I do apologize for yet another deactivation and reactivation query raised here... There are many and I have studied them, but I am still not able to say with confidence how to actually deactivate modules properly via the 'module_name'_protect.exe application which can be found under ..\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\Ka-50\bin My objective is to move DCS to a new SSD and prior to that I would like to DEACTIVATE my modules. In the forums I was guided in the direction of the xxx_protect.exe application but I am not comfortable using it du to what I have tried to illustrate in the attachment. Can anyone provide some more guidelines? Sincere regards, BSS_Tintin

Thank you very much for your prompt replies gentlemen. I suppose we can consider the double payments as extra backup funding. Perhaps in the future I shall be able to use one of the free-planes for something still unknown to man (aka DCS gamer), or maybe I can ask for heat-seeker bullets to be an available loud-out in my 51' ? :) Tintin

Sir I backed DCS WW2 with about 112 USD I was suppose to get some (5 I think) free a/c and some manuals. I assumed this would all come to fruition once DCS WW2 was released/made available. I have thus proceeded to buy/pre-order both the 190 and the 109 for DCS, 40 USD each. Now I am beginning to think that these are perhaps amongst the planes I already paid for... Am I suppose to buy these planes two times, one for DCS and one for DCS WW2? How can I utilize my selection of 5 free planes from the DCS WW2 backer as long as the instalment is not out yet? I had some problems with loss of control assigments when trying to save set-ups in files which I duly loaded before starting up. For reasons I could not explain the control set-up and axis assignment kept changing. Have you checked to make sure that not one of you axis on you HOTAS has accidently (or by itself) been mapped to the rudder? You could be trying to fly it with some right rudder fed in all the time e.g. from an un-used rotary knob or something... Looks like quite a few of us are experiensing the DCS gremlins these days... Hope a solution emerges real soon. :-) Cheers Tin'

oh... the sweet taste of success...!!!! Finally I figured out how DCS stores/creates fiels for Keyboard and Joystick whenever you modify something. I deleted all files under User files (or something) and onwards to Keyboard and Joystick. I just left similar files under Default as they where. When I then restarted the game ... woalah!! :-) Now I have opted NOT TO SAVE ANY CONFIG FILES as DCS does that automatically pr. A/C. I really appretiate you taking the time to help me out here Chilidfan. S! I shall promptly return to the poney-pit' and learn the ropes. Eventually I shall be victoriuos... or develop a rather sore bottom... Tin' out

Just tried it - no joy, when I boot my game having deleted the only settings file I ever created it now start up w/o any keys assigned... Sheisse!! P.S. who says Tintin is mortal...??? ...woooaaaaahahaha....

I have experienced something similar; I've only just bought the P-51 and was happy to go with all keys default and just assign throttle, prop, hot/cold air, aileron, elevator and rudder on my Saitek X65 in combo with CH Thr quad and CH rudder (if anybody wonder; go CH instead of Saitek - muuuuch better quelity!! ;-) but anyway). I have made sure that I select the P-51 Sim (not game), the flight mode I am not sure about (will check). Thing is; when I start DCS (as Administrator on my old Vista) does it remember my last used profile or not - there is no way of telling which profile is active. So, I always Load MY profile before I go flying, however, some times when I enter Quick Mission mode some of the mappings are changed, i.e. rudder axis suddenly appear on my throttle quad etc. I quit the mission and re-enter the Options and re-open My Profile...and... woops suddenly EVERYTHING is gone - litterarily - no keys are mapped, and only a few axis, but certainly not the ones I wanted... WHAT THE H... HAPPENED TO MY PROFILE FILE????? It's like it's a little Gremlin in there...;-(. I have spent 4 hurs today - including re/assigning EVERYTHING twice... I am very ancious to hear from anyone with a workaround or an answer to my problem. Cheers, BSS_Tintin P.S. NOT a happy trooper at the moment... Oh, yes! For heavens sake DCS; put a RETURN ALL TO DEFAULT button there pppppplease - it takes about 30 minutes (at least) to do each button individually... ;-)

Gentlemen, how shall I uppgrade from A-10C ver. 1.1.1.1 to ver. 1.2.2? Through an incremental patch, or through a complete re-install? Regards, Tintin

Gentlemen! I bought the beta version late last year. A few day later I was forced to restore my computer to an earlier date and I thus lost my registrated installation of DCS A-10C. One down, 7 registrations left... Never mind I thought. I have now upgraded my rig with a new gfx card and I re-installed the beta version (1.1.0.4) which I had kept on another drive. I had to register it again, apparently my new gfx card made it look like a new computer... now I have 6 grace registrations left. I figured I could just patch it up to current version afterwards, but alas... I can not find the patch from 1.1.0.4 to 1.1.0.5 which I need in order to make use of the two offered paches at the DCS website. Do I need to download the full 1.1.0.7 version and if so, do I need to register the game a third time? At this rate I'll be lucky to get a current playeable version without having to by the game one or two more times. I think from now on I'll stick to what I can by on DVD's :cry: An introduction to how this works would be highly appretiated. Best regards to you all, and to the DCS people for an excellent product! Just a shame I feel that I've be "tricked" into using my registrations in vain... Whish you would put up a post explaining how this works to morons like me. BSS_Tintin
