  1. I'm confused. Did you buy A-10C through Steam and then use the serial to activate the A-10C module in DCS: World? That should still work if I'm not mistaken. If it doesn't, make sure you're typing it correctly. If it still doesn't work, then I would open a support ticket. However, DCS: World has never been available through Steam nor is it a purchase product so you can see where I got confused. The only version of A-10 sold on Steam is the one that does not require World (version 1.1.1.1) and has no "Module Manager".
  2. I tried doing this for my copy of FC3 and a browser window opened for me to purchase the bloody game!! Looks like ED has the download available for the current version. Will try that. Hopefully this fixes the issue...
  3. a 1.3 GB update at 30k/sec? really? I'll....wait until later. Besides, I have other games to play
  4. Doesn't really matter where you bought it. All you would need to do is download DCS World and the A-10C module from the DCS website and use the key from Steam to activate the module. I know several people that have done it this way and haven't heard of issues. I know Steam versions of games don't always play nicely with retail versions but this isn't one of them. Doesn't matter for voice comms either as that is independent of whatever game you're running.
  5. Mission Briefing?? Ooh I can't wait!!!! Sounds like fun!!!
  6. Hmmm...interesting. Setup for a possible scenario???
  7. I SO want this game. I played through the first two and loved them (even though the first was just a shade better). *looks at credit card lying on desk* must show restraint....
  8. No worries. However, I will say the same to you as I said to EricJ. The postings that were being made did nothing to answer the original question or meaningfully advance the discussion. That being said, I can understand your point. These situations can be quite humorous. I don't think this one was though
  9. I don't begrudge you your knowledge. Really, I don't. However, the point is the same. The way you do things in the sim may be just fine for you but may or may not work for someone else. The way things seemed to me is you were basically trying to say that your way was the only way because that's how it would be done in a real-world situation and he was trying to say that it wasn't the only way. I'm not trying to say who is right or who is wrong just that posts that were being made did nothing to answer the original question. Simple as that.
  10. Gentlemen, please. This is rapidly turning into a "mine is bigger than yours" arguement. Can either of you tell me how the last 15 or so posts that the two of you have made in ANY way answer the original question??? Here's a hint: they DON'T. Lighten up. This is a piece of commercial entertainment software. Yes, I know it was originally based on military training software but it is NOT, repeat, NOT a military training tool. Every individual has the right to use the software however they choose. There is no "right" or "wrong" way to enjoy the bloody thing. Thank you and good day.
  11. Sure he does....ever seen a road course????
  12. Can't people just accept the commercial for what it is instead of whinging (sp?) about how unrealistic it is? I mean seriously....it's a frigging commercial for Pete's sake...
  13. *looks through original post* Hmmmm.....nope....don't see anything about the "status quo" or maintaining it. Progress would be improving what is already there. How is people complaining because this plane or that plane was or wasn't chosen an improvement? That's all these types of threads are. Does no one any good. Matter of fact, it could lead to ED saying "Fine. You guys want to continually complain about the work we put out?? How about we end support for EVERYTHING we've done and not release anything else?" Where would people be then? Back to Call of Battle: Field Duty. Don't think anyone wants that....
  14. Here we go again. Yet another "waah I only want Russian planes wahh wahh" thread. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and entitled to vocalize it but seriously folks enough is enough. Can't we all be happy that someone is bothering to make these titles at all? This nitpicking and petty bickering because this plane or that plane was or wasn't chosen is pointless. FYI: I have every piece of software ED ever developed so I can understand the nostalgia factor. I get it. I just think to grow up and move on. Just my 2 cents. Take it for what it's worth. *sits back and waits for the flames*
  15. Silly silly man. Don't you know SUBS belong in the water???
  16. Quick question...how do you know I haven't??? By reading my profile??? I can put anything in there I choose. Because you've never seen me in an MP session??? I usually only fly with some friends. Because I don't have a bunch of posts here?? I generally don't post in forums. With that being said, I'm going to be respectful and excuse myself from the discussion. Have a nice day.
  17. Ok first of all your sarcasm was both duly noted as well as unappreciated. Second, I can't say I've spent as much as you on the same hardware and software because I don't know or care what the exchange rate is. Third, my point was that, no matter what aircraft is done, somebody isn't going to be happy. This bickering because one aircraft was picked over another is completely pointless. So instead of continuing, why don't we just enjoy what we've spent our hard-earned money on and leave it at that? EDIT: Would have responded sooner but I just now saw the post.
  18. Seriously though....what does is matter whether it's a Russian plane or an American one or a whatever else one??? As stated earlier people should be happy there's a developer like ED around. After all, one can only play so much CoD....(Call of Duty not Cliffs of Dover)
  19. Don't you mean Starfleet w/o the Klingons??? or the Horde w/o the Alliance??? EDIT: Oops. Double post
  20. Don't you mean Starfleet w/o the Klingons???
