  1. This sounds great! I would love to be a spectator. Some questions regarding this: 1) I heard there will be an Air Traffic Controller? Can we be in the same TS room as the flyers so we can hear the action? 2) Can i come this saturday to the practice as a spectator? Might be nice to practice spectator management on the dry run. While this is a very mature community I would imagine that all spectators would have voice rights withdrawn? Awesome idea guys ~ 169cdt_Fudd
  2. I didnt get to fly that much but it was certainly great to see all the flyers... Cheers to you guys :)
  3. Very true Rastus..... I'm sort of revising what I started with...It's not really a hyperlobby problem... it really is a narrow scope of player i meant needed help. The ones that have trained (but are still new) and want to see what a human pilot will do when he's fired upon and how then the missle behaves... Firing observable missles at AI planes wont help you play online. These same players are unlikely to know how to make a map and start a server.. Guy's my only point really was lets do everything we can possible to grow this community. :)
  4. That one ill download for sure... very good looking
  5. nice offer... thanks 504th I think the thing is ...the combo of Ts and the Server helps alot.... who knows... no one may show up and you could take it down no problem.
  6. Yeh I agree totally ice... and someone that Ice knows very well taught me alot of "the little" things i know...stuff like "You start contrailing at 25,000ft." Cheers to him and you for the TS, info, servers, and the crucial "New 1.1 players must read" thread. Moving on... For those talking about a set system where the dedicated server people set aside a day.... well i dont agree with trying to set that up (I wish i hadn't insinuated that).... it's their server and they can do with it as they wish. What i meant more is the directions in Hyperlobby... I have seen 20 people out of game in hyperlobby and virtually chatting around a request for help. Things more like that.... Maybe it does boil down to the fact that LOMAC is harder than what people expect.... but in general folks... don't let a good question go unanswered when you see it.
  7. Russian pilots and engineers told ED how to model the russian aircraft? That can't be right... :icon_jook
  8. I swear I'd pay 10 bucks a month to someone with a dedicated server if they would put up maps that would help inexperienced players become killers..... I'm sick of seeing the same players! Yes you! lololol
  9. Hey guys... I wanted to drop a line to ask help from veteran hyperlobby players. To me this game is very cool, but based on my own personal experience (5 months ago) getting up and running and playing online effectively was pretty hard. When you're new, Hyperlobby isn't the greatest place to get a question answered about why "things" happen, it's not the place to find a newbie server (with labels and the easy stuff on) where you can see what your missles and enemy missles are doing etc... So on that note, I really want to emplore people to answer new players questions... about anything really... yes if a player has clearly not done any of the training then you should send them packing lol.... Help our new players understand why they keep getting shot down and why they arent shooting others down. lol... little things will help Here's the reason why.... We're getting some more people, word of mouth about the download may still be there, but certainly there are people buying LOMAC GOLD in the stores... new people means more fun... but we've got to get them trained and staying... Yes there is in game training but it doesnt explain some of the more important things.... when you were new who knew the best cornering speed for an F-15 was about 360 mph? Or that a Tor only has 8 missles to fire? Or when ECM burnthrough happens? Or where a good forum is? So..... unpack what you think are "operational secrets" and get our new players hooked by helping them out with the "little" things... :D P.S. To those that help noobs and set up noob hyperlobby servers then the above wasnt for you lol
  10. Thanks Gazehound A couple of things: 1) The Radar automatically turns on to supplement a wavering EOS signal? That's new to 1.1 and quite odd if I may say so. At any rate my friend was fully tracked through a mountain. 2) I was flying straight and level in the time leading up to the amraam hit. Must have been ECM of someones interfering with the warning (i cant honestly remember if mine was on.) Really enjoying 1.1 ....
  11. Trash Zone Alarm at the nearest possible convenience.... It's a program that tries to do way too much and ends up only bugging out in your aforementioned and other ways. The memory leaking, conflicts, not to mention it's a comparative resource hog. All one needs from a software firewall is to prevent unauthorized packets/messages from leaving your PC. My advice.... grab sygate free personal firewall.... it's the cats pajamas :D http://www.download.com/Sygate-Personal-Firewall/3000-2092_4-10332265.html?tag=lst-0-1
  12. Apologies before I begin but I searched and couldn't find topics on these two events... I was online flying a CAP and was downed by an AIM-120. There was no warning at all before i was struck... It's my understanding that an AIM-120 will always go active off the rail? Was wondering why I recieved no warning. Also, I was trailing a team mate and was matching his speed using the EOS. He dipped below a mountain ridge for about 10 seconds and the EOS stayed locked on him. This actually happened several times as I followed him. I noticed that when he went below the ridges the radar and "F" HUD symbols would begin flickering. Any experience with these problems?
  13. Ok guys! It's obvious that ED is going to be making an F-16c model so me thinks we should get off of our F-18 C-E-F rants! lol  Thats fine with me actually! Just some words for the wise game developer though!! Make it at least Block 40/50 and follow the guidelines set out below! "Block 40/50 F-16s are being upgraded under the Common Configuration Implementation Program (CCIP). The first phase of the program (first aircraft completed in January 2002) provides core computer and colour cockpit modifications. The second, which began in September 2002, involves fitting the advanced AN/APX-113 interrogator/transponder and Lockheed Martin Sniper XR advanced FLIR targeting pod. The third, which started in July 2003, adds Link 16 datalink, the Boeing Joint Helmet-Mounted Cueing System and an electronic horizontal situation indicator. The export version of the Sniper XR pod, the PANTERA, has been ordered by the Royal Norwegian Air Force. The first was delivered in November 2003." As you can see...these mods are US and Export mods. also, the JHMCS implies the Aim-9x right? It better! lol Ok....Model Model Model away!!! I know there are needs to model CLOSELY all systems involved with LOMAC but remember, data "corners" have been necessarily cut before! Do it with this plane if you must... Because there is no need to introduce a watered down F-16c into the game. :D ... I say that because your intention is to introduce a multi-role aircraft yes? Well make it something that is way more interesting than the Su-33 please! PS....good job ED! Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System http://www.vsi-hmcs.com/pages_hmcs/02_jhm.html http://www.airforce-technology.com/projects/f16/
  14. LOL Caretaker!! I obviously never played JF-18 (and i meant market penetration depth not game play depth...and how is the Super Hornet of questionable popularity to the US Navy? It has major improvements over the F-18a/c and we can't even begin to talk about the Navy F-35 in the context of this game...ED will not be touching stealth yet.) and I was hoping to let the point about the Super Hornet nations slip "under the radar" :icon_wink However...it still doesn't diminish the point that there is a need for a modern western aircraft that fit a marketable role. The F-16 is possibly played out, the F-22 and F-35 stealth attributes (among other things) preclude themselves, the older F-18's have performace deficiets, and the Gripen and Rafael are too narrow in market scope. I would say go for a Super Hornet or Eurofighter (no ones been shouting for the EuroFighter though)....or? whatelse people? A chinese J-10? :icon_excl :p I think ED probably will choose the F-16 because it can "turn and burn" better with the russian aircraft (that and they can skip more AtoG radar stuff)... It's an interesting choice for them. Whatever they choose might be relegated to an Su-33's status... It's interesting that no one has brought up that a F-16/F-18/Eurofighter might turn into a western su-33 in term of how much people use it...... I.E. It can't carry the neat AtoG stuff that a SU-25 or A-10 carries so why bother with it when it doesn't have air to ground radar and the F-15 or a Su-27 is sitting there. I dont ever see people running to SU-33's. Maybe thats the real crux of my exuberance over this... I'm sitting here thinking a multi-role fighter will actually have full radar/weapons attributes when it possibly wont in LOMACx. Whatever......Choose the F-18 super hornet because it's more powerful than the old and can operate on carriers...and whatever you do....have a helmet mounted Aim-9x :icon_jook By the way.... ED I LOVE your work...I really do.
