DCS Update | Mosquito Freeman's Folly | F/A-18C The Rampagers
YoYo replied to Graphics's topic in Official Newsletters
There was supposed to be IIWW somewhere around the turn of Q1 and Q2. It's probably May, or something simpler April, but of course that's speculation. There have been a few nice surprises from ED recently :). -
DCS Update | Mosquito Freeman's Folly | F/A-18C The Rampagers
YoYo replied to Graphics's topic in Official Newsletters
I hope that in the April patch we will also get a new cockpit for the Su-25A from FC. -
It was released for MSFS Today. Sorry for posting a video from another simulator here but I'm rooting for a 3rd party that will make it for DCS. #JaguarForDCS

This is nothing new. This has been going on for a long time. The mod has been broken for months and is causing CTD DCS. @Taz1004 was here 1 year ago, pity ...

Heatblur Simulation: *** DCS F-4E Updates incoming! **** Most of last year was focused on bug fixing, improvements and a lot of underlying core and structural changes to our codebases in order to improve it for the future Phantom updates and to port features to other modules; as well as the launch of some new content in the form of the F-4E Campaign. This year, we’ve turned our attention back to feature development, and it's time to start shipping new features! We’ll be starting off next month with shipping JESTER modding capability, and opening up the API to the community. JESTER is built to be an extensible, modular SDK based around intuitive LUA scripting workflows to model “human-like” crew-members for high fidelity aircraft modules. You will be able to override and extend almost any part of JESTER AI, creating entire new routines, interesting mission or campaign content or more. Check out the documentation for this upcoming feature here: https://f4.manuals.heatblur.se/.../jester/overview.html We can’t wait to see what you do with JESTER! Another improvement coming soon is the addition of the first pass of character customization. Initially, this will be based on presets, with the next iteration of this feature being able to customize each preset or create a custom one with the exact setup of flight gear that you want. At that time we’ll also be introducing new flight gear, such as new helmet types, new flight suits and more. Eventually this system will be ported to the F-14 as well. More visual elements and some associated functionality are also on their way; such as the “Dogbone” gun-camera (and eventually gun-camera functionality), as well as additional visual customization options for e.g. Greek Phantoms! These include the external refueling probe used by Israeli Phantoms, the removal of the “football” antenna on the tail or addition of the newer generation one, as well as plenty of other bits and bobs. Where feasible and relevant for an F-4E as depicted by our module, these visual options will be functional, and where otherwise not relevant they will simply be visual additions for a more accurate representation of national Phantoms. Work has also begun on “Jester Pod” - JESTER being able to utilize the Pave Spike targeting pod! This will be very helpful in Singleplayer, where you’ll be able to rely more on your backseater to get crosshairs on target and precision strike using this early targeting pod. We expect this feature to be finished in April but may be included in a later patch. We’re also finally putting our finishing touches on the F-4 Paint Kit, allowing you to better create new liveries for yourself and the community. We’ll also be soon adding a decal layer on top of the surface of the aircraft, for easy customization of many aircraft modexes. Stay tuned for more Phantom updates throughout the year as we add new novel features to the Phantom, and start adding new features as part of the DMAS upgrade package. Thank you so much for flying the F-4 in DCS, and we hope you’ll enjoy the new features coming down the pipe throughout the next few months! Sincerely, Heatblur Simulations

So the entire map (to the border of the Phase 3) will have the same level of detail as Phase 1? I'm talking about Phase 2 and 3. So if I understand correctly, Phase 2 and 3 will also have airports, buildings, vegetation, etc. with the same level of detail as Phase 1? Am I correct?

Will the next Phases, 2 and 3, have the same level of detail as Phase 1? Will there be any differences, e.g. lower quality textures, lack of vegetation, etc.). Can you tell us a little more about the plans for the next phases?

OctopusG: DEVELOPMENT NOTES In the concluding note on the module's development, some aerobatic maneuvers on the La-7 aircraft are demonstrated. Mastering aerobatic maneuvers is fundamental for conducting air combat. The characteristics of aerobatic figures reveal the flight capabilities of the fighter. Proper execution of aerobatic elements is essential for effective and safe aircraft control. You can see aerobatics on the La-7 aircraft in our training film:

We currently have Russian aircraft in DCS and this is not the case. This is a case of Joint Stock Company Russian Helicopters: "Joint Stock Company Russian Helicopters, a subsidiary of UIC Oboronprom, controls all Russian helicopter industry enterprises. Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant, Kamov, and Kazan Helicopters conduct R&D. Serial production plants were integrated into the Russian Helicopters group: Kazan Helicopters manufactures the medium Mi-8/17 and the light Ansat, and is starting production of the Mi-38. Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant manufactures the Mi-8/171. Rostvertol manufactures the heavy lift helicopter Mi-26T, the transport-combat helicopter Mi-24/35, and the attack helicopter Mi-28N. Kumertau Aviation Production Enterprise produces the Ka-27/Ka-32 and the light Ka-226T. Arsenyev Aviation Company Progress manufactures the military attack helicopter Ka-52 and the light Mi-34S1. Russian Helicopters company is also engaged in the management of production and aftersale support enterprises for major components and systems: Stupino Machine Production Plant, Reductor-PM, Helicopter Service Company (VSK) and Novosibirsk Aircraft Repairing Plant. Partners of Russian Helicopters: AirTaxi Service (interior completions); R.E.T. Kronshtadt (aviation training systems, navigation and avionics); Tranzas (software, navigation systems, aviation simulators); CSTS Dinamika (full scope of technical training means for aviation personnel); BETA AIR (testing equipment); Ural Works of Civil Aviation (repair of helicopter engines and components and reductors)." Of course everything is possible. I just don't understand that it doesn't apply to selling to Russia, the other way around - i.e. a ban outside of Russia, is very understandable, but this way it's a strange case. ED has more knowledge about what was the motivator here.

Great news. I honestly didn't expect it to appear in February. More like March, and here's such a surprise. Thanks a lot! Bravo to the ED/Afghanistan map team, I can't wait to fly the new version over Afghanistan :)!

ED: We are delighted to announce that our new DCS: East Afghanistan region is now available in the latest DCS update! You will also see some great improvements to the southwest region! This new area leverages our latest map technology and lessons learned from previous terrains, including the Southwest region. The eastern region of the Afghan map is characterised by its mountainous terrain interspersed with agricultural areas around Bagram and along waterways. Kabul, the capital and largest city in Afghanistan, includes several points of interest such as hospitals, historical sites, monuments, and unique neighbourhoods. The Eastern region also includes the urban areas of Bagram, Gardez, Jalalabad, and Khost and 10 new highly-detailed airfields: • Bagram • Kabul • Jalalabad • Gardez • Khost • Sharana • Bamyan • Urgoon Heliport • Ghazni Heliport • Khost Heliport Enjoy!
