  1. If you use this fix, you have to unprogram the scroll wheel it's self (in the SST software). It worked fine for me but I really don't need ths split throttle.
  2. If you really need it look at this link. It's not perfect, but it works. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=51677&page=2
  3. $329 US dollars for me, this HOTAS is everything they said it was. My fist stick was a MS Sidewinder then an X-45, had the 45 for over 6 years. I’ve never used any other HOTAS other than the 45. I’m sure they all have good and bad points (other brands) and customer loyalty will edge it one-way or the other. That being said, the X-65F and force sensing are the way for me. The first time I tried it, I was intimidated by the thing, did not understand what Saitek was doing. Now, all I can say is awesome! It was like going from a 1972 Bug (spring loaded) to 2010 Lamborghini (force sensing), the difference is that big. I’m still settling in with the force sensing part as for you have to find your sweet spot, dead zone, curve setting and a comfortable button layout. I made programming the stick harder than it really was (read the manual). And there is an enormous amount of places to input key commands and don’t get me started on the number of hats! And just to let you know, I read reviews for a week before I bought it. The good and the bad opinions. As for the throttle issue; being able to have split thrust and the debate over viscous, not an issue for me. Split throttle, there’s a work around, viscous, feels fine to me. You just have to tune it to where your sweet spot is and how it feels when you fly. Again I’m in the tuning process and will continue to tweak it and move things around until I’m happy. I have already taken off two hat buttons and moved them, yes you can do that and they give you the wrench to do it (just take care when doing it, their small screws). Force sensing, I get it now…awesome! UPS said it weighed 8lbs in the box.
  4. Got mine one week ago and was terrified when I pulled it out of the box, I was intimidated. I plugged it in installed the software and I was off. Had no idea what to do with it because I’ve had an X-45 for so long. It was a lion at first, but it tames very easily. This HOTAS is everything they promised and a bag of chips! Is there some things I would like different, yes but I can live with them because you can always find fault…nothing is perfect. It would be safe to say you could possibly input all of the key strokes from the “Key Command List” into this stick and still have a few buttons left over. This stick is nothing but awesome!
  5. Yep, different version of SST and some commands (tricks) have been forgotten. But that being said and a lot of hours (trial and error) later I have programmed the X65F. Now I’m in the refining phase making sure I put the commands where they suite me best. Profile to be posted when finished, this stick was intimidating at first, now it’s just awesome!
  6. Got my X65F the other day and have been working on setting it up. Now after having an X45for 6 years+, the 65 is a BIG leap forward. So far I have been working just a few hours a day to input commands and test them to make sure they function correctly. My first brick wall is this, the printable “Key Command List” for FC2 has the key press strokes in the wrong order: example, Weapon Release= Space+RAlt…not so Weapon Release= RAlt+Space. If done the printed way you will get a long continuous cannon burst. If you use the ST program some commands that use a combination of keys are not working after being profiled, so bottom line is I’m still working this out. Any help or suggestions are welcomed. Info needed: 1) How to use mini stick to control Target Designator 2) How to setup shiftstate like the “pinky switch” on the X45 3) How to set rotary for zoom Now I had all this setup on my X45, but can’t remember how to do it.
  7. My 65 will be here in a few days, going to bookmark this temp fix. inbound!
  8. Wave off Disregard my help questions, waiting on new stick. Will be looking for X65F profiles soon.
  9. Update! X-45 is out:(...waiting on X65F to arrive.:music_whistling:
  10. sticky X-45 As for the sticking and binding, well this has been a thorn in my side for many years. I could not hold my position in formations, snap moves and the stick made sounds that one would only hear coming from two pigs under a blanket. Very frustrating to say the least, I tried everything that people had suggested…oil, grease, silicon, lithium grease, dryer sheets, zip ties, bread bag ties and the results were always the same. So one night after 2 or 3 Jack & cokes I broke the golden rule and opened the stick up. Not something I would recommend unless you’re willing to buy another stick is something goes wrong. I looked around and could not see anything wrong or any reason why it was binding and sticking until I found a little black triangular piece of plastic, and it was small. After a closer inspection I had discovered that there was a fracture plastic ring which the shaft moved around on. And the pieces were causing the flat ring to jam up the movement of the stick. This was or had to be the cause of all my misery I thought. So I found what I thought would be a reasonable substitution (top of a plastic coffee can) cut it out and put it in the stick and all my frustration was over and the stick worked and sounded like a charm. Big negative on that, the thing still binds a makes that god awful sound to this very day. This is what was inside! I used masking tape to hold it together.
  11. Ok, I am not ready to throw in the towel on my X-45 yet. I have been experimenting with profile lua’s (make copies of originals before hand) and think I might have solved something but…I need the original (F-15C FC2.lua) file:helpsmilie:. The one I have is so jacked up it’s not funny, so if anyone could tell me how to get it I think I may be able to make the 45 work. Some of the other issues are in the drop down list of all the possible buttons you can assign. It list over a hundred or so for the X-45, I need to find out where they match up on the stick it’s self. Long task ahead. The only other way I know of getting the original lua is to reinstall the game, and I don’t want to do that…used two activations already. Can anyone tell me why this is happening in my profiles? The areas that should be programmable are not… can’t be. This is always changing when different profiles are loaded, even when the default .lua is loaded.
  12. Not complaining just explaining I too have an X-45 that work well with LOMAC and FC minus the binding and sticking (that’s another story for another time). But when it comes to BS and FC2 it will not integrate correctly by using the STT software or the programming section in either game. When I purchased BS and set aside a day to reprogram my X-45, well let's just say things went downhill from there. So when I purchased FC2 I thought little or no changes would be needed when setting up my X-45 for this Sim. I had assumed that the transition would be a smooth one. My problems are assigning buttons and keys and keeping them as a named profiles, both games change the settings each time I start the game along with other issue (make a note of that if you would ED). This has kept me from flying for some time due to frustration and lack of information on how to properly correct this issue. My assumptions are that it is not either of the games but the stick, software and or drivers; they maybe too old to work with the newer games (if I only had a nickel for every time I heard that one). I would hate to think the issue is me and that I just can’t figure out how to program my stick for both games. True some of you might say “Willy, it’s time for a new stick” but that is not the point. When I started out in this “hobby” aka my wife says “addiction” all I had was a LOMAC demo an old Dell with no video card and hand-me-down MS Thrust Master. Now, six video cards, seven HD’s, ten RAM sticks, two processers, three mother boards, two power supply’s, fifteen LED and non LED fans, two gaming towers, three monitors, three key boards, two mouse’s, one Track IR 3 pro, one Vector expansion clip, one Track Clip pro (save your money!), purchased LOMAC, purchased FC (twice)(that was my fault, wasted activations), purchased BS, purchased BS manual, purchased FC2, one Saitek pro flight pedals and one X-45 later. I think you get my point. My trusty 45 should work? Yes? True, it’s not like I wasn’t going to buy all that stuff anyway, but that’s beside the point. I like my 45, it feels good…and it was my first…first HOTAS! Now what was my point? Oh! My X-45 doesn’t work either, and it should. I’ll tell you what community, instead of all these fancy how to flying training videos, make a how to program my precious Saitek X-45 video. Why make that video you ask? Well, so my wife will stop throwing water on me to snap me out of my thumb sucking fetal position in the corner can’t program my X-45 for the hundredth time session. I just want to fly again! Or I could just buy a new stick.:joystick:
  13. I know everyone has said what an outstanding job has been done with FC2; I too throw my hat in the ring with the rest. Truly another great addition to LOMAC! Thanks ED!
  14. Sweet!! just saved me from a big uninstall cry! Big thx for this post.
  15. Man!! I wish I would have put my computer back together sooner...I would have sold you my Track IR Pro Clip (used for only 1 minute) for $29.99 and free shipping. I think I paid more than 30 bux for it, got it when they first came out...thought it was wire free...NOT! Almost fixated myself with it and my head set… to many wires hanging off my head, plus it was like having a huge arachnid attached to my face. I hope someone smart out there can figure out how to make it run on very small batteries.
  16. An excellent point Ice… you’ve hit the proverbial nail on the head, a little can be good…don’t be a glutton. I think it is as simple as that. Put this poll to rest!
  17. Ice, I used the 169th motto “play hard-play fair” as an example to show that playing hard and fair is to invoke good sportsmanship. And that should always be taken into consideration after shooting a pilot on the ground. Shooting the same individual more the once is pointless and would be unfair play. As for the poll, I think there are more than 62 people that play LockOn…so it would not be a true representation of the community. My intentions for quoting the 169th motto were in no way, shape or form to be interpreted in a negative or demeaning manner. I just wanted to show that good sportsmanship equals fair play.
  18. Chivalry and good sportsmanship are not the same, or are they? If a pilot (A2A) has lost a good hard fought fight and is sent packing to re-spawn or some poor sap is trying to enter the game… and some highly skilled, expert of tactics, master of his machine, self proclaimed vulching avenger is loitering above you…laying down a bead of steel on you…and you continue to re-spawn in your own burning scattered debris…for the tenth time…as you see this highly skilled player coming in again because he still has plenty of death dealing bullets remaining and knows there is nothing you can about it…man! I must issue a well deserved “GK!” followed by a big salute “S!” IMHO…I don’t think that is the intentions for allowing vulching. If it is, then the server owner might state that, “the purpose of vulching is to conduct and display your poor sportsmanship on this server, and if you don’t like it…go fly in one of the other servers because this one is for the real men who fly in LockOn!”. Or something to that affect. Testing my meager skills against another pilot is fun and rewarding, to get vulched over and over and over and over by the same vluching idiot who did not even engage me in the air…man! That is lots of fun. Again, I think the true purpose of vulching is miss interrupted or not fully explained in the brief or server rules. Clarification I think would be in order. There is NO SKILL in shooting a pilot that has just re-spawned, once he is wheels up, prepare to defend yourself! Example: Some have vulched until they are out of all ammunition, they see the pissed off pilots going wheels up…so, being the skilled pilots that they are…they eject! Where is the skill in that example? And I quote, “Play Hard-Play Fair” what squad has that as their motto…I tend to forget sometimes. But, it is a good example of how to play the game with some sort of honor or maybe...I dare to say...a little chivalry.
  19. I concur; shooting a fighter on the ground is the same as shooting an unarmed person. Again, unless it is by a ground attack aircraft only. There is no sport in shooting a fish in a barrel.
  20. Vulching, as a rule of thumb is not the way to engage the enemy. To some LockOn is only a game, but to the several that fly by a code it is a gross display of poor sportsmanship. For a fighter to engage and be engaged in pure aerial combat is the only admirable way to fight. If you lose the engagement, then it was the skill of your foe that did you in…not some vulching idiot. Vulching by an A-10 or Su-25 I can understand, they were designed for this roll. Anything else is just a display of poor sportsmanship!
  21. In the trees! Well…If you want to see the trees close up…then you well need to work on your tree dodging skills. I have found a state of the art flight Sim that will test not only your LockOn skills but will test your ability to fly and live!! Note: Use the “T” button for ACE settings. 22. I have the same issue now. Never had it prior to my upgrade to a second video card, additional 2 gigs of RAM and going SLI. This is not the first I’ve heard of this issue too. I’ve tried messing with the AA and AF settings and this had no effect. I’m not sure what happened but I think it might be an SLI issue. Because I’ve just gotten into the SLI arena I could be wrong. Any suggestions on how to fix this would be highly appreciated
  23. I don’t know but I was getting the same thing showing up...so I un-installed that mod until someone can explain it or tell me how to fix it. I was getting it with all three mods too.
  24. And just like that it's now there SKF. Thanks for your help and support through this difficult time for me.
