    Flight Simulator X
    Soon to be LOMAC
  1. --RESOLVED-- Stupid question, I know. Im installing this F-16 for FC2 and the readme told me to copy the input controls to the 'f-16a folder in the config/aircraft/input directory, but it didn't tell me where to copy and paste the rest of the files.
  2. I would like to now take the time to say that I went off half cocked, and have no idea what I was talking about, and let my noob rage go. I apologize for wasting everyone's time.
  3. Why would I want to pay 20 bucks for a printed Manuel when FC2 itself cost me $22 on Amazon?
  4. Yay A2A is better anyway, I got their P-47 and B-17 with AccuSim. Great stuff if you like the technical aspects of flight such as engine management which im used to so I think I could get used to IL-2. Props are more fun to fly, but jet fighters are far more maneuverable.
  5. Also I think part of my problem is I've never used a combat flight simulator. I'm not used to energy management and basic fighter maneuvers and everything technically associated with this. I also do pull to hard on the stick and probably should tone it back a notch or 12. Although I should probably try IL-2 out since those have prop fighters which would probably be a good dogfighing trainer for me. However I'll keep trying till I get it right.
  6. IRIS is the flight dynamics creator for the aircraft, not Microsoft, you would have to commit me to a mental hospital before I claimed that Microsoft flight dynamics characteristics for anything were 100% accurate
  7. I would also like to know where the enemy is, radar isn't helpfull, I get a blip for about 2 second, I turn on him and hes gone, how do I increase the radar range? Atleast in LOMAC I had aircraft tags, which I understand is unrealistic, but how do I know who im shooting at if i can't see him on radar and have only a few seconds to catch a glimpse of him outside my canopy flying below me and out of sight, because when I yank to get on him at 350 knots I end up bleeding 150 knots and can only pull 4 or 5gs at most. I eventually won the last dogfight when apparently I led him into some mountains and he crashed into them. :helpsmilie:
  8. I know that, the thing im saying is at altitude it accelerates about as fast as a 1998 Ford Taurus.
  9. FSX, Iris F-15 can do super cruise with no afterburn, (not at cruise settings, full throttle) the F-15 in FC2 can't even do that. The only real chance of dogfighting in this thing is if it is at 10 thousand feet or less.
  10. It doesn't feel correct, for example at full throttle with no afterburner the F-15 can easily reach supersonic speeds at altitude (25,000 feet) however at altitude it is impossible to dogfight because the thing will only pull 4gs and before you know it im pretty much a sitting duck for anyone who wants to take a crack at me. The graphics are wonderful and i like the pilot camera angle thing when you turn, but it seems because the Lock On series was made by Russian developers they tend to favor Russian aircraft. :smilewink:
  11. I recently ordered LOMAC and FC2 on Amazon and i just got what im guessing is LOMAC in the mail today. It says Lock On Air Combat Simulation on the front. Is this the same thing as LOMAC? even if it isn't will it still work with the FC2 expansion? I also apologize for my noobness, I'm just getting into Lock On. I took the plastic wrap off it but im not going to install it if I don't think it is LOMAC.
  12. Am going to purchase LOMAC, i just want to make sure it works on Windows 7 first. Im trying to get more into combat flight simulation rather then just civilian flight simulators like FSX. I will get Flaming Cliffs 2 later.
