  1. Did you plug in the x52 before you ran the driver install program? If you did that usually causes problems, and uninstalling the drivers and fixing it is actually harder than you'd think. I had the same problem when I first got my x52 and had to follow the instructions from Saitek to properly remove them. Here they are in case you need them. 1. Unplug your X52 from the computer 2. Uninstall the driver 3. Uninstall the SST programming software 4. Delete the Saitek folders from the following paths : C:\Program Files C:\Windows\Temp 5. Delete Saitek registry entries: -Press and hold the Windows key on your keyboard and then press the letter R. This will open the Run box. Type regedit and then click ok. The Registry Editor will have a list of folders on the left hand side. Go down into the following folders in order by clicking the + next to the folder name. +HKEY_CURRENT_USER +System +CurrentControlSet +Control +Media Properties +Private Properties +Direct Input Inside Direct Input delete any entry inside that begins VID_06A3. 6. Reboot 7. Install the latest drivers and DO NOT PLUG IN YOUR X52 until the install program ASKS you to or you will have to redo this whole process. Good luck!
  2. I was just reading about this stuff last night oddly enough! Ram is sort of tricky in that the speeds listed don't mean you automatically get that. So just because you have 1600 or 2133 RAM doesn't mean that you can just pop them in and get those speeds. Here is a cut/paste that sort of sums it up... For example, let’s say that you bought a pair of DDR3-2133/PC3-17000 memories. Even though they are labeled as DDR3-2133, they won’t run at 2,133 MHz automatically on your system. This is the maximum clock rate they support, not the clock rate at which they will be running. If you install it on a regular PC system supporting DDR3 memories, they will probably run at 1,333 MHz (DDR3-1333) – which the maximum DDR3 standard speed –, achieving a maximum transfer rate of 10,664 MB/s (or 21,328 MB/s if they are running under dual channel mode, read our tutorial on dual channel to understand more about this subject). So, they won’t automatically run at 2,133 MHz nor automatically achieve the 17,000 MB/s transfer rate. So, why would someone buy these modules? Someone would buy them for overclocking. Since the manufacturer guarantees that these modules will run up to 2,133 MHz, you know that you can raise the memory bus clock up to 1,066 MHz to achieve a higher performance with your system. However, your motherboard must support this kind of overclocking (read our tutorial on memory overclocking for more details). Thus buying a memory module with a labeled clock rate higher than what your system supports is useless if you are not going to overclock your system.
  3. Here is from 10 minutes ago. Couple pics of my option settings, and then the desktop because it only uses 1 gpu, then flew for 2 mins and took another pic. I always use the latest drivers out there.
  4. Before today I was going on my FPS, which I gathered from both the in-sim fps counter as well as fraps. With single card I can't break the teens. With 2 my average only goes up to 29-34 but thats a pretty large difference. With the only change being turning off/on crossfire. I had never used afterburner until today, but it was suggested and I thought that maybe I'd better make sure. So I ran it, and flew around for 2 mins then alt-tabbed to see what my gpu usages were, and both of them were being used although nowhere near fully. #1 was 50% and #2 was 21. So my frames are higher, sometimes nearly double and now I ran afterburner and it says both are being used. Is that "proof" or ? So you mean when you do the same thing (and anyone else having issues) that it shows no activity on gpu #2? p.s: I'm using the latest drivers, I always do. Which happen to be 12.2's at least for today lol
  5. I just love surfing above the ground in the Shark and Hog. In fact sometimes I only do just that! :D I know what I'm gonna do tonight lol
  6. The framerate change was very obvious. I haven't tried changing anything around in quite awhile but I'll test it out tonight and see. I didn't know I was the only one I thought it was just a small group of people having issue with it.
  7. I use 2 x 5770's and it works far better in crossfire than single card, pretty much always has.
  8. For what its worth. I've been using 2x 5770's and haven't had any issues at all for a good 6 months. I get much worse FPS when I use a single card. I always try all the new drivers (seems like there have been almost 25 of them in the past 6 months) currently I am using 12.2's which made no difference with any of the DCS titles but made a gigantic difference on Batman Arkham City (AWESOME game very highly recommended!!) I always shut off Cat A.I, which has become harder to shut off but can be done fairly easily. Here is a copy/paste from my sticky thread (in my signature) on how to disable Cat A.I: • Disable CATALYST A.I - You must follow instructions below to disable Cat A.I. The slider settings are for enabled only, they've made it harder to disable it but here is how with latest drivers: * Close down CCC.exe and MOM.exe via Taskmanager * Navigate to <username> \AppData\Local\ATI\ACE\Profiles * Open Profiles.xml with Notepad * Alt + F and search for "Catalyst" * Change Value Enable to Disable for Catalyst A.I * Save * Restart I'm not sure if it will help anyone but like I said, long ago I had nothing but problems but after applying the various tweaks I have managed to get steady stable results!
  9. I tried the 3D Pro for 2 days and absolutely hated it lol I sure am glad that I decided to try another stick before giving up. So I went with the x52. The difference from the 3d to x52 is night and day, I recommend it for sure! Unless you can afford high end stuff but for most people thats a bit much hehe
  10. Hey Joeben, Sorry to hear that! Have you tried using older versions of the SST?
  11. I had same issue with mine it was because i made the mistake of plugging in my x52 before I had run the driver install problem. So the drivers and SST would install but wouldn't work correctly at all and drove me nuts. Even though I could change some settings and it appeared to kind of work, it wouldn't load profiles even if I made a simple one with 1 key and saved it (that would work) but try and load it and fail! I had to follow the instructions from Saitek to properly remove all traces of the drivers and software. Then re-install driver then SST (and do not plug in the x52 until the driver program ASKS you to plug it in, and then do so). Here are the instructions you have to follow them all or the same problem happens again: 1. Unplug your device from the computer 2. Uninstall the drivers 3. +HKEY_CURRENT_USER +System +CurrentControlSet +Control +Media Properties +Private Properties +Direct Input Delete any folder inside the Direct Input folder that begins VID_06A3. 6. Reboot 7. Install the latest drivers and DO NOT PLUG IN YOUR X52 until the install program ASKS you to or you will have to redo this whole process.
