  1. Drag and drop the contents ( inside the folders) from the mod zip to the corresponding DCS zip files ( see first post). No placing one zip file, itself, inside the other zip files.

  4. Simulated horizon effects on land and trees...If you look close the trees bleed their color and blend into the dark bluish haze. It is a subtle effect and trees blend much better. All done within the texture...
  5. The next versions will have alternative choices. Mixing and matching terrain will be like choosing what to wear. The user always get what he wants:). So if I darken down the forest floor a bit it might help? I'm going to try and monkey with the mipmaps to alter the way the trees look at distance...
  6. This noise texture can be placed in the Landtextures.zip (back it up first). It is the ground noise detail at the lowest level. Mustang made a vey good one not long ago I believe.
  7. Thanks to every one for seeding this...could not do it with out you. Good job Mustang...I did not want to get into those settings in the install instructions, as I wanted to keep it dirt simple. Thank you for pointing out that tweak.

  11. Ok...ready to release..Here is the problem: Media fire only allows 200mb max file size on free accounts; the DTAC ground textures are 533 mb zipped up...can any one host this bad boy?...I can dropbox it to you.
  12. Yes, all seasons. Install procedure is exactly the same as the trees. I have a custom noise texture as well. I will place it in an optional folder, as some are already using a custom noise texture. These are 4096x4096 as well...so hope you have some horse power. After this I'm going after the Shit grass:) And maybe bundle a unified package.

  14. You might want to google "file not found or no read permission".. possibly you don't have write permission or administrator privileges? It really is a simple drag and drop into the zip files.
  15. Did you open the zip file to see the contents before you dragged and dropped the files?
  16. Ok...go the 2nd option in first post of this thread...back up the files described in the first post, then drop the .dds files in, and over write the files contained in each of the corresponding season zip files ... But before you follow my instructions, first back up , back up , back up!
  17. These are just larger textures, no new models yet. The new models will be close to the same.
  18. I guess you could always do LODs...Managing the popping in and out might be an issue both visually and performance wise.
  19. I may try to model placeable forests as a way to give mission editors a way to control trees that block line of sight...I may attempt it. EDGE will be doing trees on the fly (Procedural) which will have great detail.
  20. I have noticed this error as well without my textures...the forests are made up many trees in a triangular shape ; they place as one object. Sometimes the placement is slightly off thus creating edges that overlap a sharp hill. This creates the flying trees... I'm pretty sure my textures have nothing to do with this, its ED's forest model.
