  1. I stick to EVGA when buying graphics cards. Warranty and support is second to none.
  2. On the topic of OEM or retail. They are identical, it's just more of a legal issue. You can install both copies on one PC at a time. However the OEM version should be tied to one PC for the duration of its lifetime and can't then be used on another. I believe a retail version can be used on up to 5 different machines, as long as only one at a time. Upgrades or new builds etc. Having said that I had an OEM copy of windows and my motherboard blew within a short amount of time and MS were fine with activating it. Might have had to phone and state it is only used on one machine, I think.
  3. Well, I have no HOTAS at the moment but I've been checking in here now and then and I have to say I'm very disappointed! Reason being, I have to now spend money and buy a joystick. DCS really is starting to look superb. It's taken a long time and a lot of patience from the fans I see posting regularly, and the community looks to have grown considerably and has a great vibe to it. Congrats ED. Keep up the good work. I'll have to slowly get back into this, and find time to do so!
  4. I'd want to do a clean install, but my upgrade is still in the waiting phase... On the subject of clean installs, though, how do you retrive the product key that's 'traded in' when you upgrade?
  5. Disable SLi - test Disable background services that are unnecessary Disable GFX setings and build each one up on by one until you find which has the most impact.
  6. http://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonkelly/2015/05/12/free-windows-10-has-high-cost/ Some thoughts on the future of Windows, possibly.
  7. 750D does look good, not read too much into it. The Be Quiet is a great case for a first from Be Quiet and I have started to come to know them as very well built bits of kit. What might put you off the 550D is the front USB if you keep the door closed and need access to ODD or fan control etc...I didn't much, but now n then if something is plugged in with a cable, it got in the way. Be Quiet has them nicely sat on the top, with a nice big power button there too! And I meant to say quite a bit quiter than the 550D, but both are very good in that respect , considering what fans you utilise inside etc..
  8. Be Quiet system 800 here. Just replaced a COrsair 550D which I also really liked. System 800 is that bit quieter. Little bit iffy on the SSD slots but it's fine really. Really nicely built and well worth it.
  9. Interesting, but I'm guessing you'd really need to split the audio outs from DCS in order to sub mix them. I guess DCS simply outputs all audio to a specific output? Nice idea, though. Never thought about doing this as never entertained the possibilty that the audio could be separeted from DCS. Ah....wishlist!...Didn't notice. Yeh, good idea! :)
  10. Just a post to say it's this that puts me off the warthog, other manufacturers like saitek don't do it for me either and it's the only reason I don't bother with dcs as much as I'd like. Maybe I should go the x55 route or just get a warthog or ch products, although they're aging a little now... Hmm
  11. Well, I was offered a return which was good of Scan. I'm not going to go through with it. Dissapointing how nvidia dealt with this but I'm over it.
  12. http://www.pcper.com/news/Graphics-Cards/NVIDIA-Plans-Driver-Update-GTX-970-Memory-Issue-Help-Returns I understand some of the issues here, but the way people react is a little OTT. Interesting article and would go some way to acknowledge the issue and explain what will hopefully happen next.
  13. Congratulations to all the team at Leatherneck! Can't wait!
  14. Ah thanks Skate, and Shagrat for the help. Cool, I will purchase over the weekend and follow your instructions.
  15. Based on this link: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=116362 and the below quote, can someone answer me this question! :) Sorry if I'm being thick. I have some steam wallet money, all my modules are purchased from DCS.com. I like the module manager and like how I can download them all there etc etc. So, if I buy F86 Sabre on steam using my wallet money, can I then import that serial number to my DCS website account, or at the vesry least, will I be able to use this License Management tool to bind the serial number to my DCS.com account so that when I start DCS World without running Steam, the module manager will recognise I have the F86 available to download? Thanks for any help, I amj going through the thread but I'm at work with people shouting at me! :(
  16. Hi, I'm interested in both, where are you based? Please PM me with details if possible.
  17. Frosty where abouts are you? Can't promise anytbhing but I had a Siig Firewire 400 card that I once used with an Onyx400F by Mackie. If I can find it and you're willing to pay postage I'll send you one for free.. I'll need to have a good rummage around the house though as it's been a good 2 or 3 years since using it. Excellent card, though. Texas Instruments chipset and worked with my Onyx perfectly.
  18. I use an RME Multiface II, but I just wanted to mention Beyer Dynamic DT990Pro headphones. Sound is so subjective and so I can't come up with all the buzz words like warm and rich to describe them But you won't be dissapointed by them They are really very comfortable on, too. Just a recommendation for you! :) Expensive, though. I bought mine around 2008, still great and well worth it, just replaced the earpads: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Beyerdynamic-EDT990V-Headphone-Pads-Silver/dp/B001BYL5YE They're like new again. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Beyerdynamic-DT990-PRO-Headset-250/dp/B0011UB9CQ/ref=pd_sim_sbs_ce_4?ie=UTF8&refRID=1N8K5GF2P395C863YRZ5
  19. I'll be buying at least 2 possibly 3 copies of this when released. I hope it's a great success. And I don't mind waiting. All the best, Leatherneck team.
  20. Bodo

    Brain teaser

My front door can take quite a good picture, thank you very much!:)
  21. How can these companies, TM and Saitek, fail to create something that is solid and stable? What kind of quality control is in their manufacturer process? I was really hoping to get this HOTAS but again, it's just sounding like a big risk. Kinda stuck with what to go with now. Guess I'll go and buy an X52 Pro again in order to get back in to DCS.
  22. I didn't originally back this, but I will most definitely be buying this module upon release. Very pleased that this is going to come to fruition.
  23. I was really hoping for some better success stories with this product. I am interested in following how you guys get on, another concern is how light the controller is. For the money you'd expect either top notch components or X52 standards with a nice, heavy, bulkier construct and added switches, features. Anyway , I hope you all get your issues sorted but I'm kinda please I held back buying now. Doesn't fill me with confidence. Maybe it's best to just spend on a Warthog or Black Mamba. If these stories of temperemental behaviour and quality issues have substance it's a real shame that Mad Catz haven't captialised and made one of those products that really impress and turn the market upside down. Wonder if the potential of a 'Pro' version is indeed gonna be what they decide to do.
  24. It's just because the file association of .bin files has been taken by VLC. Wont' affect anything.
