  1. Hi guys, I don't get to fly the A-10 so much at the moment, as I am hooked on rotors and can't seem to get away, but when I do I use black text and it works fine for me. This will give you some idea about RGB to Hex http://www.javascripter.net/faq/rgbtohex.htm I'm not to clever with all this computer coding and stuff, but this made a little sense to me so I attach my file (HUD_init) that I put together using black text. It works in version 1.5.2. I use it via JSGME, If you don't, just drop the files into the path below after backing up the A-10C's Cockpit folder The full path, DCS World/Mods/aircraft/A-10C/Cockpit/Scripts/HUD/Indicator. From the indicator folder there is an .lua file called HD_init, that is where the magic is applied, I think there are four lines of hex code near the bottom that can be played with, it's been a long time since I did this. Please make a back up first. In my attached hud mod is another changed attribute to the text size making it slightly larger to see (HUD_definitions.lua) I hope this info helps you out. HUD_definitions.lua HUD_init.lua
  2. @goggles You might be interested in this talented forum member, http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=124251 Can't leave out this talented member either, http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=121620 I have just downloaded these onto a fresh install of DCS using JSGME, but I haven't used any as yet, I just checked that they appeared in the ME. Please DO READ INSTALL NOTES for the first link.
  3. Thanks guys, should have thought deeper into this. Anyway problem solved. I remembered from reading many posts on this forum when people are having problems, "check out your SavedGames folder, that I did do, and all is bact to normal, I obviously didn't deactivate the mod after the last update, my bad.
  4. Hi guys, I have attached a track to show what is happening in the mi-8 just recently. I have one mod installed (English cockpit by Devrim) using JSGME, activated or deactivated has the same effect. I have repaired DCS, I have uninstalled the module and re-downloaded, tried different missions, made new ones, all with the same outcome. All other modules are fine. I am totally confused, (doesn't take much these days) so any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks. mi-8 pit graphics.trk
  5. You need to add the Pinky switch as a modifier (and name it "Lever") in the controls section of each module you are using with these profiles, if you have done this correctly your red lines should disappear.
  6. I have just built my first ever PC, it is only for gaming. I wanted a powerful rig with plenty of air space inside to keep things as cool as possible, I chose a case with no optical or HDD drive bays (see spec below) and went for M.2 storage for Windows and 500gb Samsung 850 evo SSD for game files, it is lightning fast. I have in the past only been used to DCS on an iMac with 512mb VRAM, although I did take the Mac apart and installed a 256gb Samsung 840 pro SSD for both OS X and Windows.
  7. This happened to me this morning with the mi-8. I had uninstalled 1.5 thinking I had messed a few things up. redownloaded and installed then checked the module manager, no mi-8, so as I'd only just reinstalled I did a repair and that did the trick.
  8. You will get there eventually, I for one thought I'm never going to remember this lot. I even had a long break due to computer failure recently, got back in the pit and started it up in 3-4 minutes. It will become second nature. Going to start on the Mi-8 next, now that does look daunting.
  9. Skulleader, you should be able to get 30% maximum off of the product price using your bonus account, so if my maths are correct you should be able to get $14.97 off of the full price of NTTR. I haven't used any of my bonuses yet, but intend to do so when the Gazzelle is released, So I think that's how it works. Full break down on the DCS website under SUPPORT/BONUS RULES. Anybody, please correct me if I'm wrong.
  10. Same here as joebloggs, but I also had to buy a new monitor as well, the 0.5gb of VRAM on the iMac just wasn't cutting it. Total spend £1800. Big day today, firing it up, fingers crossed. Also my first ever home build.
  11. Hi cowboy10uk. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009R921SE?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00 I have been using this powered hub now for nearly three years. I really can't stand cables trailing everywhere. All I can say is I have had all my control devices plugged into this including: Wireless keyboard and mouse Rudder pedals TM Warthog TIR5 And have not experienced any problems or lagging whatsoever. All I have directly plugged into PC is the Hub itself, printer and external sound system, the latter two won't work through a hub. I am soon to upgrade my system from a Mac to a brand new PC with Windows 10, so I am hoping this setup will still work smoothly. I had to get some sort of hub, because the Mac only has 4 ports. Best thing I did for tidiness at the least. Just make sure whatever you purchase is powered.
  12. Did you tell your wingman to engage "target by type" ?
  13. Having just suffered an iMac failure possibly due to overheating and running DCS, it's time to build a new PC, I need to see what this sim is like max'ed out, especially now DSCW 1.5/2.0 & NTTR are just around the corner When doing my research on the motherboard I chose, I saw M.2 socket mentioned, not having heard of this tech before I thought I would give it a shot. I am going down the line of dis-regarding internal mechanical drives and optical drives and sticking with SSD's. Here's a question for the experts here: If I use the M.2 storage for the OS, can I install DCS on my other SSD? I should mention this build is purely for gaming, I have had the iMac repaired and will still use this for everyday use. I vowed to not play DCS on the Mac ever again, that was 2 months ago and it's going to be another month or so before I get all the components for the new build together. Boy do I miss flying in this sim. The final build minus the monitor.
  14. Oh, this would sit nicely on my up and coming new PC build. Here's hoping
  15. Thanks BitMaster, I was completely unaware of this tech. I have researched a little on g-sync and all I have read has been extremely good to awesome. This is the way I will be going, another future proof piece of tech. The only difficulty at the moment is finding a monitor enabled with g-sync that is big enough and in my price range. Also I wasn't interested in going too 4K in anything under 40" but can be persuaded now since reading you can swap around with resoullutions. I'm really glad I posted here about the BenQ, which is now in the bin, thanks again.
  16. Hi, I am in the process of putting together list of components together to build a new rig including a monitor, as I am coming from an iMac. The rig will be for DCS World and a few other games mainly as I am keeping the Mac for general computing stuff. The monitor is in my price range and size, but not sure if there is better out there for the price or if anybody here uses the model. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00JIWLNHU/ref=ox_sc_act_title_10?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE This is my parts list so far, hopefully future proof. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/
  17. 14 days,12 hours, 34 minutes (but not counting) so far without my computer, and boy do I miss DCS, just left with my iPad to keep in touch with the World of DCS. Never has more information been released since I lost the big screen. Graphics card failure by the way on my iMac, yeh I know, one day it will be a GTX 980ti, an i5 4670k, and MSI Z97 mobo but can't justify the extra cost just for flight simulation at present. I only use the Mac for training and learning systems, and I absolutely love it. When I do play it is mainly for 1-2 hours 3 or 4 times a week, in the morning on 5 of my favourite modules, 3 Heli's, SU-25t and A10C, so it isn't much time at all, but very valuable to me. Campaigns and joining a squadron hopefully will be for the GTX 980 days. Spent the last 12/18 months purchasing control devices. Impatiently waiting by the phone and checking email from Apple. Good service from Apple, £80 for parts, total cost £118. Eventually heard from Apple today 25/9 bad news, turns out to be the logic board £460 and another 7 days wait, no parts in stock DOH. Definitely going to start stock piling parts for new rig.
  18. Hi, this is what I use at present due to my dodgy eye sight on a 2560X1440 setup. IIRC this does not work with multiplayer text or any mission text other than ATC and Wingman stuff. Also any changes will be over written on DCS updates, but can be retrieved from the _Backup XXX folder in the DCS directory. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2049680&postcount=4
  19. Just upgraded to the TM Warthog, so my trusty old T-Flight is up for a new home. It is still in excellent condition, you would think it is brand new to look at, all buttons and axis works just fine. I am looking at £30 with free delivery within the UK, anywhere else, PM me for a quote. Unfortunately I cannot find the original box, but rest assured it will be packed with great care. Features
  20. I am selling this keyboard purely on the fact that it is too big for my needs now. I have had it a couple of years, but haven't used it very much, so is in very good condition and good working order. This could be yours for £45. The Features
  21. And a big thank you from me as well, great set of profiles. Although I don't mind setting up the controls myself, being fairly new to the Warthog, it's knowing which buttons to configure for the best. I'm also glad of your PSD template (another learning curve) I have started to make my own profile for the Mi-8.. Thank you again for sharing.
