Hello,
I have a little question for Peter, please can you tell me if your awesome Mod "Proper Neck for DCS World 1.2.5 - 1.0" work fine with the new upgrade 1.2.6 ?
If it's not the case please can you tell me if you gonna published a new version of your Mod ?
A great thanks in advance for your answer and best regards. Skull
Call me crazy but I think the mod has been integrated into 1.2.6
I never installed it but first flight with 1.2.6 sure seems to have a proper neck now in the a10c.

It seems that each patch breaks community created content some way or another. Designers allways have to correct their missions.
This is quite discouraging and contributes to the lack of community published missions
Thanks Dragon for all the hard work
X2, I did try opening and re-saving the mission but no luck, JTAC training is FUBAR.
-
Any chance you will update? The pack is quite broken in 1.2.6 :( JTAC training for example the JTAC units no longer have names, they are all shown as APC M1025 HMMWV... in the atc menu. It is impossible to tell which unit you are contacting.

Had my wingman crash into me from behind on short final. Game said I killed him and score was reset to 0.

I can confirm what Habu23 reported. Seems the laste is working fine but wind in the sim is completely out of line compared to what is being set in the ME.
Only way to get accurate computations seems to be "sampling" the wind in sim using the laste page on the takeoff roll and climb out, then entering the results rather than trusting the numbers from the mission editor or briefings.

Joined today and was promptly team killed on the ground twice. Server has devolved quickly.

I also believe that asymmetrical payloads will make you tend to veer off as well, and most payloads are not perfectly symmetrical if you have a TGP on.
X2, asymmetrical loads will pull you off center on takeoff for sure. With no weather and only a TGP loaded the hog has a strong pull to the right on takeoff roll. Also need a couple clicks of trim or a bit of left stick to keep the wings level when you rotate.

Been trying to get friends into DCS via the SU-25T so nice to see the 6dof updates!
-
I believe by default the TM warthog's "trim" hat will be assigned to view panning. You will need to change it to trim or setup a modifier so it can be used for both functions.

Thanks ED for the quick hotfix!
-
Thanks! That worked, I used the logitech set point software to make application specific bindings for DCS.

Wags just mentioned in another thread that they just fixed a bug that made chaff 10 times more effective. This bug has been in the sim since march.
This probably means we will see very different missile behavior soon. Let's hope it get's included in the next hotfix :)
And I still cant evade SAMs, uggghh. :joystick:

Explain a macro please? My knowledge of setting up the controls means using the control options menu.
-
In the game mapper there is no option to assign that command to any mouse button, it can only be assigned to the keyboard or joystick.
I would prefer mouse button 3 to be the toggle instead of alt + c so I dont need two devices to enable and use the free look.
-
l alt + c works pretty well for those of us without track ir, but it would be nice if it could be assigned to a mouse button? I don't understand why this is a keyboard ONLY command.

Playing with the mission editor a bit, a tanker at 14000 MSL in standard weather set to 270kts ground speed will give you roughly 220kts indicated airspeed for refueling in sim.
-
Slow down, relax, take your time :)
I would highly recommend Dragon's training pack, the freeflight missions are great for tanker practice.
Jump in the sim, get airborne, radio the tanker intent to refuel.
Track em down with TACAN, or you can hook their escort.
Spend a little time flying with the tanker to get comfortable, the f-15 escort makes a great buddy for formation flying!
Once you are comfortable drop back and slightly below the tanker, get your speed matched up and trim level, open fuel slew handle and radio ready pre-contact.
Move up to the boom SLOW, its not a race so try to overtake by 1-2kts to start. I also like to zoom the view out a bit to keep the tanker in view and keep your head UP! Don't waste time looking down for anything.
Try to keep your nose level, tiny shifts in attitude up/down will get you rocking on the boom in a hurry, fine adjustments to the stick and throttle is all you need to stay connected.
Pause, smile, take screenshots. (for the OP, 197 knots indicated, 245 kts ground speed)
Transfer complete, disconnecting... :pilotfly:
So long and thanks for the gas!
X52pro, no trackIR, no curves etc, default axis settings for the stick.

half way there, download speed waffling between 30-500kps
-
You don't need to cycle the slip handle after a disconnect just tap the nws/laser switch to reset fueling status to ready.

Thank you for such a great pack! My first go at refueling in the freeflight mission was a success!

Seems to work really well if you populate an airport with AI only. However I've run into issues using this method with a player or client departing the same airport.
Situation, I setup an F16 with a fuel truck blocking him, fuel truck triggered to move 5 minutes after mission start. Works great, truck moves and AC taxis.
However if you add a player to the mix, for example blocking vehicle moves after player reaches trigger zone on the active rwy, then the AI aircraft gets stuck and will never taxi.

That's why everyone cheats with ground power hehe.
-
That sounds like a real fun time :D thanks!
the 50 on the RWR is Russia keeping an eye on you with an "A-50 AWACS" hehe :D
BTW... has anyone gotten close enough to the Russian boarder during the command bunker mission? If so did anything exiting happen? :P
Honestly, I would make the Russians a bit more dangerous. I hosted the mission one night and a pilot decided to stray across the border. He dispatched the SU-30s without issue, including shooting one down with a MAV. Then had no problem hunting down and destroying at least one SAM site without ever taking fire.

He's still showing about 50 FT MSL on his HUD tape...so not quite zero
Hes actually showing -50, probably for safety during the performance as hitting 0ft would still be 50ft off the deck.
Reworked Cockpit Views with proper Neck
in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Posted
It may not be your mod but something has certainly changed. In 1.2.5 and previous versions the view would spin freely 360 degrees.
now looking left or right the camera shifts slightly in the direction of movement and locks looking back over the shoulder with much more of the engine visible.
Sorry for the NVG pic just jumped into a quick mission and it was dark :)
