  1. Thanks for the reply. I can't be confident what was the problem or, more importantly, what solved it. It might have been something as simple as shutting down and re-boot the computer. However it useful for others to read these threads/posts. I might help.
  2. Its now installed and running. How? I installed FC2 to the C:/Program Files Folder but could not activate as the normal singularly allowed activation was being use on the XP partition. However doubled clicked on the FC3 .exe and it ran me through the installation steps, including the request for serial number activation. Installation completed successfully. Loaded DCSW and ran FC3 piloting the A10 successfully. Not sure why it was successful this time other than the final introduction of the FC2 background installation.
  3. Following advice from others I've reinstalled as follows: Installed LOMAC to the C:/Program Files Folder [C:/ is the active Vista partition] Check to see if LOMAC will run: OK Installed DCSWorld to the C:/Program Files Folder Check to see if DCSWorld will run: OK Tried unsuccessfully to install DCS/FC3 I get the usual check about "must have blah, blah, blah installed ....", but I get no installation instructions ..... nothing. Help please.
  4. I'm back!!! I'm now trying to get FC3 running on Vista 64bit OS. Just to say again I have XP installed on my C: partition of my HDD and Vista on my D: partition of the same HDD. I copied both the DCS/World and DCS/FC3 downloads from the C:-XP partition to the D:-Vista partition expecting to have to re-install both DCS/W and DCS/FC3 to the D: partition. I booted up into Vista, but when I clicked on the install DCSW icon in the D: directory, it suggested that I install it on the C: partition. :noexpression: I suppose it doesn't matter where it installs it as long as its running it under the Vista OS so I proceeded. (It actually loaded it directly into the folder I had set up for the XP OS installation) :( However it put DCSW icons on my Vista desktop and I could run DCSW under Vista OS. I then tried to install FC3 by clicking on the install icon. It said I had to have LOMAC whatever installed, but when I proceeded further nothing happen. I even reinstalled LOMAC to the D: partition and still nothing. No error message, no request for activation, nothing ..... What am I doing wrong? :helpsmilie: By the way .... I'm still a nob as can be seen from above...... :P
  5. There! You've now had two replies (3 if you include this one). All 3 from good old Oz! Might pay to advise of your computer specifications. It was my specifications which indicated FC3 was not an option for me.
  6. Problems with FC3 Well my experience has been very different. Don't understand why you are being ignored.:( http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=98687
  7. HF is suggesting the same. Maybe I don't have the dedication to Falcon, or the time or the inclination. My lifestyle is full of other things. Maybe too full to dedicate the time to BMS. HF's says that FC3 is more friendly, bit like TAW2.0. I wouldn't have to sell my soul to join MP. Looks like I've got a OS (Vista 64bit) which will handle FC3. Its just a matter of loading it. I'm away at the moment. Will have a look when I get home.
  8. Ha!!! Its 64bit. I'm not sure if thats good or bad.:smilewink: I don't what an excuse to not to get Win7. Now I have one. :megalol: No ...... I'd need to install my Cougar, TrackIR, coffee maker (joking...) to the Vista OS. Its tempting though ...... But no.
  9. I think its only 32bit. Is there an easy way to check?
  10. Thanks Sobek. Yes ..... all the advice I'm getting points to a new OS. I'd go for 64bit Win 7 Home Premium. I play other FSims and one doesn't like Win8. I have a partitioned HDD with XP and Vista. Never use the Vista partition, so I could install Win7 on that. In fact its been suggested I install DCSW/FC3 on the Vista OS. But FC3 is a distraction as I am again trying to come to terms with Falcon AF/BMS4.32. No ...... I won't apply for a refund. I knew what I was getting into. After all DCSW is free and that plays fine, and FC3 is still Beta. When ready, WIn7 should fix all.
  11. Oooooops! I'm old and it used to be just Mb's ..... I think ....... :) Thanks. Followed instructions and now progressed to a black screen with some white lines on it. :( Think I'm doomed. Eagle Fsims always have been huge on Memory requirements right back to LOMAC days. At least I can get the Su-25T to fly in DCSW, but its cost me $39.99 to find out that's all I can fly.
  12. Thanks. Is that why I can't run FC3/DCSW? Edit: Please note it has been successfully activated.
  13. Sorry. I've just updated my signature to show current computer specifications. I have 8Gb of RAM. Edit: Mb changed to Gb
  14. I've just bought FC3 and it will not load. Just says DCS will have to close down which it does after sending error message to Eagle. DCS world works Ok. I have attached the me.log and DCS.log files for reference. My OS is WinXP. Thanks. Attached Files dcs.log file.doc (36.5 KB, 0 views) me.log.doc (25.5 KB, 0 views)

    no sound at all

Thanks A1. I think I need to upgrade the mb first and get a dedicated sound card along with. But money's tight and I need a new Notebook. :( I might go for the extra RAM if it'll fit in. Not to clued up on adding RAM, slots, etc. I'll go back to my favourite supplier and see what they say. Last time I did that (dead power supply in that instance), I bought a new computer. This one.

    no sound at all

Thanks to all the respondents. The driver update above fixed it. You certainly make it very hard not to buy the addons with support like this. Now what will it be? A-10C or FC3? Maybe both .....

    no sound at all

Hi Neph. There is an option to update DirectX to DirectX - 2010 (if that is the same thing as ..... runtime?), but I get a a message when trying to update that I have a later version already. In regard to my sound card I don't see it mentioned in a Belarc check. Is it part of my motherboard? My specifications are in my signature over at TAW. EDIT: is it herehttp://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f195/Wombat1940/sound.jpg[/img]"] somewhere?
