  1. I think a Handley Page Victor would be a fantastic addition. It has been out of service since 1993... I don't think getting the documentation for it should be too difficult - I could be wrong though. Nevertheless - Handley Page Victor :)
  2. the gun pipper wasn't the problem for me: it was my incompetence to understand what I am reading on the HUD test menu, and then applying that knowledge correctly xD
  3. Can someone tell me why it has been pretty much 7 months, and this option is STILL NOT FIXED???? This is a very important option for the HUD, especially when doing gun runs. EDIT: sorry, my bad, I completely forgot that it's only possible to have a non occult gun cross in CCIP not GUNS mode... damn it...
  4. Ok, I have been constantly logging in and out of the module manager, and now, all of a sudden, it popped up saying that Flaming Cliffs 3 is available for install... what on earth is going on???? EDIT: There seems to be some serious client-to-server problem regarding the module manager and how it interacts with Eagle Dynamics' user purchases database. Last time I read an update log, I thought it said that 'all downloads and updates should now be done through the module manager' - it would be good if it showed correct purchase information. The workaround, as I just found out, is to manually download all the module installations from the official website and install them - this is the only way, as at the moment, that I am able to get my purchase information (serial etc) to show up in the module manager. Please take note of this developers.
  5. I haven't flown in DCS for 4 months. I deactivated all my products 4 months ago too. I am currently running on a fresh install of DCS World. After these 4 months, I logged into the module manager, and what do I see? It only says that I own the DCS A-10C, Black Shark 2 UPGRADE (I NEVER bought the upgrade, I bought the FULL product) and I am able to install the Huey open beta - everything else says that it needs to be bought!?!?!? I logged into my profile on the website, and all my purchases are correctly in-place with the respective CD-keys. I officially own: A-10C, Flaming Cliffs 3, Black Shark 2 (full), P-51D Am I still suppose to install the modules via separate out-of-DCS downloads, and then update them via the module manager??? Need help urgently
  6. Found his problem through teamviewer - his graphics driver wasn't installed xD
  7. Stealthbird97, I have updated our group URL - it no longer has a random bunch of numbers in it: http://www.facebook.com/groups/DigitalCombatSimulator/
  8. I haven't done a proper A-10C mission in about a month, and now, after doing a full startup, as usually, however customising my HUD for my personal preferences, I have noticed (while doing a gun run on a target) that, usually, when I had Gun Cross Occult set to "Yes" in the Display Mode section of the HUD test menus, it would still let me see the TGP diamond when the gun cross overlaps, however, this does not seem to be the case anymore - I have tried having Occult "Off" to see if they may have been flipped round by mistake, however, no, having this option on/off does not give the desired setting as it usually did.
  9. Thanks for the info! We'll see how things go :)
  10. I thought it was a one off thing, but I have been seeing this problem recurring, as of the recent version of the Mission Editor: (this happens transiently) 1. Open saved mission 2. Edit the mission (or maybe don't edit the mission) 3. Select "Save As" 4. Save the mission as a different name WITHOUT including ".miz" in the "File name", but having the "Mission .miz" attribute. 5. The result is that the file sometimes saves itself as a simple "file" rather than being a ".miz" file - you then have to manually add ".miz" to the file within your operating system, or re-save while INCLUDING the ".miz" in the "File name"
  11. Is the P-51D capable of eliminating ANY type of overland armour (up to a T-90 and/or an M1A2, whereby one bomb equals to one kill)? Are the HVAR's as effective on maximum armoured tanks, and, are the six guns any good against tanks too (well, at least, could you eliminate a T-72, by firing at its rear, where there is less armour?)? I am basically working on a mission at the moment and am stuck as to how far I can go in regards to targets for Mustang's.
  12. I would love to see the B-2 bomber in action in DCS World, as an AI - wouldn't you? :) I mean, we have the B-52, the F-117, the B-1B... come on guys, adding the B-2 shouldn't hurt :D
  13. Thanks for the info guys! To be honest, I was really wondering more about the distance between the pilot's face and the HUD, in real life - looks like it must be the view that you get by pressing "Enter" :)
  14. Is this your personal opinion, or would you quite solidly say that it's definitely the more realistic field of view? Since, if it is more realistic, it's definitely much better when it comes to reading information on the HUD :)
  15. I was just wondering, is the view you get at the start of any flight (the one that zooms out slightly and slowly at the very beginning) the actual, real world view a pilot will get of the cockpit, or is the realistic view the one that you get when you press "Enter" on the numpad (whereby it is up-close (and personal :D))?
  16. Hopefully you are right, and I can go nuts with them in such a case :D
  17. Just wondering, is there a limit as to the amount of triggers that you may have in a mission? Also, is there a point at which having any more triggers could cause the simulator to crash and/or become unstable (multiplayer-wise)?
  18. @159th_Viper - I accidentally did that, then remembered from the tutorials that I shouldn't... I was zoomed into my panel with TrackIR at the time... so while I eased off the throttle and zoomed back out... I realised that I was a second too late :D
  19. I just bought the P-51D Mustang a few hours ago, simply because, to a $10 price tag on something so realistic (although I am not a vintage aircraft (especially tail dragger) fan ) is not something you would say no too! It is a formidable add-on in its own league! I immediately went through the tutorials and noticed a small error in the lesson that teaches you to land: right after touching down and slowing a bit, the instructor tells you that you can open your canopy by pressing and holding "L. Ctrl + C" - the actual default control for this is "L. *SHIFT* + C". Left control and C actually closes your canopy (mix up). Now, as for the bug, I decided to test and see what would happen, if, while on the ground, I would attempt to jettison the canopy while in the process of opening it... The result was interesting: as soon as the canopy was just over half way open, I pulled on the red lever on the right of the cockpit, the canopy went off, as it usually does........... except the opening sound ended up staying in a loop - forever . I tried resetting the red lever to its default position, tried using the canopy close/open swivel - nothing stops the looping sound.
  20. Will we by any chance be able to eventually see higher levels of realism on the combat arms side of things in the future? What I mean is: is there a chance in the future for fully functional realistic tank cockpits with pretty much every button press-able as well as fully functioning systems with startup procedures etc? It would be great to see DCS world grow into something that is going to surpass the ArmA series by far in terms of functionality realism :)
  21. Thanks a bunch for the swift reply! That's good to know :)
  22. Do we need to install the updated modules after DCS World does an auto-update, or does the DCS world update patch any of the modules that need patching? If we DO need to install the new modules, is it safe to just apply the new module version over the previous one since you cannot really uninstall a DCS module without having to uninstall DCS world... which is counter-productive towards the new auto-update feature. After saying the above, I can say that DCS world updated itself from 1.2.1 to 1.2.2, I never installed an updated module of the A-10C and I am still able to fly in that particular sim module without any problems on and offline. I have however noticed that even though it has been stated that the smoke effects (which go missing after a few moments) behind a missile have been fixed - they have not, on my end with the last version of world Maybe we do need to install the module updates separately as well? Thanks in advance! P.S. That missile smoke effect has been broken since about version 1.1.0.7 - almost two years now!
  23. Is there anyway that I can make it so that a particular FAC can do 9-lines for a particular enemy group in an area - regardless of whether it has line-of-sight or not. I thought that "FAC Assign group" was suppose to do that... it doesn't seem to be the case at all. What is the FAC Assign group best used for anyway? Thanks in advance!
  24. Thanks for the info! I will try this out. However, what I personally need, is basically a random beginning mission spawn (but I guess I can just do the player in zone condition), as in, a random percentage of something actually appearing on a mission or not at all. Do you think the following trigger string will work? Once, Spawn Units> Condition, player in zone, random 50%> Action, Group activate Tanks Or should there always be a flag entry in this case, since the "random" condition does not really have anything to randomise in the above case?
  25. I haven't been able to figure out how to make it so that there is a certain probability percentage of something actually appearing in a mission. I mean, there doesn't seem to be any way that I can set a probability condition to the object itself, rather than something it does. Thanks in advance :)
