You can enforce labels on or off in the mission but I think the labels.lua is client specific. Everyone would need to have a copy of your labels.lua file.

flying multiple aircraft within the same mission
Paganus replied to scottt's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
In single player, after you get shot down in the 1st plane, go to the an external view (F2) of the plane you want to get in and hit RAlt + J. -
Open the keyboard.lua under your %user%\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\a-10a\ with Notpad++ Scroll down to the last "combos" entry and paste the following lines in. {combos = {{key = "H", reformers = {"RCtrl", "RShift", }}, }, pressed = iCommandPlane_Helmet_Brightess_Down, name = "Gain goggles down", category = "Sensors"}, {combos = {{key = "H", reformers = {"RAlt", "RShift", }}, }, pressed = iCommandPlane_Helmet_Brightess_Up, name = "Gain goggles up", category = "Sensors"}, {combos = {{key = "H", reformers = {"RShift", }}, }, down = iCommandViewNightVisionGogglesOn, name = "Toggle goggles", category = "Sensors"}, This is the same setup used in the A-10C. Customize the keys to your liking or if you have already used those. This also works for the TOAD, FROG, and STANG.

The problem I have with many in-game configurations is that they don't allow me to have the voice comms and game sounds play through different sound devices. I want the game sounds runnning on the sound card. I want voice running on the USB headset.

None that I'm aware of.

I7-870 -> 2770K is a 1 generation jump. I7-870 -> 3770K is a 2 generation jump. Each generation is about a 7% - 13% increase depending on several variables. In June the next generation hits which will cause a price drop on the previous generations. My advice is dont consider a CPU upgrade until then. It's only 2 months and you have pretty good hardware already. If you want to go with the 4770K when it hits you will want a new main board anyway. Otherwise you can jump to the 3770K at a lower price. Who knows where the video card market will be by then. It changes so fast. I've always been an Nvidia user myself but I'm making the switch next time I upgrade.

You can create watpoints but you can not create or move bullseye. It defeats its purpose.

Poll:Would you buy DCS Su-25 and if so what version?
Paganus replied to Stalin's topic in DCS Wishlist
The "SM" is the one ya want... Su-25SM: Russian Air Forces decided to upgrade about 40 per cent of surviving Su-25s (about 80 aircraft) in March 1999. Single-seaters will be modified to Su-25SM standards; two-seaters to Su-25UBM configuration; new variant uses some equipment and systems developed for Su-25TM (Su-39). Su-25SM features Panther fire-control system with Kopyo-25 radar in a rebuilt nose (not pod-mounted, as on Su-25TM), giving compatibility with a wider range of air-to-air and air-to-ground weapons; Klen PS laser range-finder is relocated below fuselage. Revised cockpit with a new HUD and two large colour LCD MFDs, but retains standard analogue flight instruments. Irtysh EW system, with new RWR, MAWS and automatic control of chaff and flares. Structural changes limited to life-extension modifications and provision for nose-mounted radar. Sukhoi Shturmovik Consortium promises improved maintainability and a service life extended to 2,500 flying hours. -
No, I don't think so. You can fly your A10 and control units on the F10 map, but since you're in a plane you can't take direct control of a JTAC vehicle to manually target things. Also, if you give an AI unit setup to be a JTAC an order on the F10 map, it will ignore it's original waypoints and orders and no longer act as an AI JTAC.

Not going to happen. The Mav's are your pod.

Some missions will have messages and some don't. In the screen after the mission, and in the score screen ( " ), there is a 0 - 100 "results". That's how you know how you did unless otherwise notified.

I suspect the fog is there because the time is set to be early in the day.

Yes, fire at mark. Just tested it and it works fine. Average unit, 3 minutes in, they fire a 25 round volley. If you park an ammo truck next to it, it will fire non-stop forever, or at least as long as I was willing to watch it. Just make sure you placed the fire at mark point within it's range radius ring.

Information Overload! Too many ground targets!
Paganus replied to MonsterZero's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
The "Diamond" target indicator is often on friendly units in that campaign. Look at the mission brief. You follow the coast down and then attack the enemy in the valley that runs from the coast to the East. -
If you give them a target order they will fire a single 21 round volley. Advance time about 5 minutes.
-
An additional benefit to "uncontrolled" is when using CA. It allows you to have aircraft, without preset waypoints, waiting for the battlefield commander to task them, from the F10 screen.
-
I don't think you can just switch one side or the other off, but the labels.lua file is very configurable. You can make the labels just appear as a single dot if you want.

Squadron directory - http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=34062

If you look at the shortcut properties you'll see it is pointing to: ".../Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\DCS_updater.exe" Change the last part from \DCS_updater.exe" to \launcher.exe" and it will just launch the sim with no updater.

Teamspeak DCSWorld has it's own MP game selection screen. Squadron directory thread = http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=34062

As of now the only control over ships is during mission setup in the editor. You can give them waypoints to follow and targets to attack but when the mission is running there is no direct player control of ships. There is no publically known time table for adding this, that I'm aware of. Maybe they're planning to put it in Combined Arms 2.

G940 or TeamSpeak PLEASE HELP!
Paganus replied to ZQuickSilverZ's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Under options / hot keys in the lower right corner of the window is a dropdown used to select device type. Set it and see if it fixes the problem. -
@Mar The titile clearly says: "A-10 fires first ever Laser guided Rocket" Note "A-10" It does not say first airplane. We're all aware of the Toad's laser guided rockets. ;) If you read the article you may also note that it says this system has already been tested on other aircraft.

Here is a recent thread about jammers. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=100247&highlight=jammer I agree with you and the majority of posters that they no longer appear to have an effect. My personal opinon is that this is due to an AI change made several versions ago. Before the change rader SAMS shot at you from their max range. This made them very easy to spoof and empty them of their ready to fire ammo. I think the AI was changed so that now they hold fire until you are deeper into their envelope. This made that little bit of closing range the TOAD jammer gave you vanish. By the time he's ready to fire you are already well within his ability to burn through the passive jammer and lock you. On a side note, my understanding is that in RL the MPS-410 was tuned mostly towards defeating the HAWK.
