  1. I have seen a weak power supply cause this. You might want to checck yours.
  2. FC3 will not get new aircraft. They are working on some updates for some of the current FC3 birds. The next 2 new DCSWorld aircraft are expected to be the HUEY and the MIG-21. Both will be out soon according to their makers. There have been many others announced. Too many for me to try and list for you. There are already other threads that do. We don't know what fidelity level each aircraft will have except those whos makers have already stated it.
  3. My choice would be the SM upgrade. We already have the T. Su-25SM features Panther fire-control system with Kopyo-25 radar in a rebuilt nose (not pod-mounted, as on Su-25TM), giving compatibility with a wider range of air-to-air and air-to-ground weapons; Klen PS laser range-finder is relocated below fuselage. Revised cockpit with a new HUD and two large colour LCD MFDs, but retains standard analogue flight instruments. Irtysh EW system, with new RWR, MAWS and automatic control of chaff and flares. Structural changes limited to life-extension modifications and provision for nose-mounted radar. Sukhoi Shturmovik Consortium promises improved maintainability and a service life extended to 2,500 flying hours.
  4. Lookout Risk! They don't feed trolls around here. They light them up with a little 30 mike mike.
  5. I'm all for it, The overview video lists the AH-1G, which is the Vietnam Cobra. The OH-58 is named but we don't know if it is the A model that also served there.
  6. Viper is right. The Hog is too slow to be good at spoofing IR SAMs. Avoid being shot at or stay so far out at the edge of the SAM envelope that if they shoot you can escape. Use the flares. If you notice with the CMS on auto, when it thinks you've been fired upon it will purge many flares very quickly. Things to try. Spot the missile. This is important so you know how far and the aspect. If you are far enough away, turn away or even climbing can take you out of the missiles envelope. If you are close and about to get hit, and are not already flying towards the missile, turn hard into the direction of the missile just before it hits you. This sounds crazy but you are trying to put yourself in a place the missile can't turn to. I like to push the nose down also when pulling this maneuver. When all else fails and the missile is running up on your tail, throw a couple of hard rolls in just before it hits. Sometimes it will slip by. Good Luck
  7. The SU-25 that is part of FC3, and the SU-25T that is part of DCSWorld, both use an advanced flight model as well.
  8. I think the control is reversed.
  9. I wanna see your come back to that list Joey ;)
  10. Did ED add "SEA" to the DCSWorld graphic just for you? ;) Looking good.
  11. While I agree it would be nice at some point, I hope ED continues working on some of the higher priority issues for now.
  12. Have you tried it with CH manager in off mode?
  13. DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\Flaming Cliffs\Doc\
  14. beczl Vehicle Upgrade Pack for DCS:World 1.1.2.1 - beczl Modified Smokestack Model - Mustang Better Fire, Smoke and Explosion for DCSW - Kuky are some I like.
  15. The group I'm in did some testing tonight. Bumping up net settings on the server was fine in all situations, but when we connected clients with high custom settings we had warps and crashes if the server also had an AI load on it. Our test mission incrementally loads AI units over time. Our best results, of the net speed variations we tried, were when running our 8 internet clients on the adsl 1024 setting. We had 1 additional client on the same network with the server.
  16. We fly the Hog, the Toad, and the Shark together in our missions. We've also had 2 in CA but I think that was back in 1.2.0.
  17. I fly in a squad of 10. Those last couple of pilots really seem to put a strain on the server in big missions. After some testing in 1.2.1 we've established this set of guidelines for our mission builders. It's on the conservative side but we are stable again. DESIGNERS SHOULD ADHERE TO THESE ESTABLISHED GUIDELINES WHEN DESIGNING MISSIONS IN DCS WORLD 1.2.1, TO AVOID POTENTIAL MULTIPLAYER STABILITY ISSUES LAST UPDATE: 10/16/2012 ##BEST PRACTICES## Keep the number of MOVING AI units to under 40 ACTIVE at any time during a mission Static Objects and NON-moving AI units do not impact network stability Keep the total number of AI units ACTIVE at any given time during a mission to under 100 DO NOT SPAWN any more than 10 MOVING AI units at MISSION START Refrain from SPAWNING additional MOVING AI units until after squadron takeoffs Never SPAWN more than 5 MOVING AI units at a time per minute . ##UNITS KNOWN TO CAUSE SEVERE FPS HIT## Refrain from having these units open fire in a mission M270 MLRS GRAD SMERCH . ##WEAPONS KNOWN TO CAUSE SEVERE FPS HIT## Refrain from using these weapons in a mission CBU-87 CBU-103 There's a little flexability in there. We've had missions that spawned moving AI groups with 7 or 8 units in them. As you can see there is a major emphasis on keeping the moving AI down as that's what gave the most improvement.
  18. Check TS3 for your PTT issue. In Settings / Options / Hot Keys, you'll see a drop-down in the lower right corner (above the "Apply" key). Set that to "Keyboard & Mouse Only". That seems to have resolved my PTT issue (so far). and/or If you run the sim with an admin login, make sure you run TS3/TARS the same.
  19. It looks normal up to the point it stops. If you think it is a Win issue, have you tried opening access on the DCSWorld folder?
  20. Don't mean to beat a dead horse, but if the electronics come on but the engines don't start, it's almost always an advanced throttle. If not maybe a key binding issue.
  21. Since you're crashing during the load, look in dcs.log and/or post it.
  22. The laser acts as range finder for the targeting system. Use it.
  23. It wouldn't kill Wags to give us an update, but I'm sure they want it released as much as we do.
  24. I was a big proponent of AMD back in the day also. After reading this statement from the CEO, I will not buy another AMD PC processor until this new philosophy changes. The company's CEO has taken AMD on a transitional path that appears to be more disruptive than any other event in the company's history, especially in light of the ongoing change in executive management. There is no interest at AMD to continue a processor war with Intel that has lasted decades, but only rewarded AMD with occasional superiority. “That era is done,” Rory Read said in an interview and added, “There’s enough processing power on every laptop on the planet today.” Uh oh. Those quotes leave room for speculation that is significant enough to upset an entire loyal customer base of enthusiast users and may not have been the smartest choice of words. http://www.tomshardware.com/news/amd-intel-cpu-apu-processors,15741.html
  25. Best of luck VRC. I'm sure you guys will do great!
