  1. A week with this module, and WOW !!! ED Rulezzzzz !!! LOVING every little bit ! Ah, and the Channel Map too.
  2. Found that too. Not as bad as it was in the Spitfire with it's rudder trim when it was launched.... It took months to get fine tuned but it eventually made it's way into one of the updates. Let's hope they look at this one too. Is there a link to post bugs / suggestions directly for the development team ?
  3. Well, "too much inertia" was in the original post tittle, but I have changed it ( see at the bottom please )... couldn't resist the sale and bought both the P47-D and the Channel Map. I haven't had much time to play with it. After installing the latest Open Beta of DCS and pushing the 2 moules + ww2 assets, I configured my T16000 controller with some curves on pitch, roll and yaw, adjusted the toe brakes on the rudder pedals, and went for a few flights using the packed quick missions. Overall it's smooth, I'd risk saying smoother than my last DCS incursion a few months ago. The aircraft looks really nice visually, the systems modelling appear to be top notch. I noticed just one thing that makes it feel a bit like those X-Plane add-ons where developers play with bigger radii of gyration / moments of inertia to overcome some flaws in X-Plane's flight dynamics. The result is that it feels to me a bit sluggish, I would say, responding with some unexpected inertia to my control inputs. I would expect it ( and yes I know it's an heavy aircraft ) to respond to inputs more loosely, briskly, not feeling a bit tied to rubber bands as it feels, but maybe it's just my expectations that are completely wrong, and the cockpit video I watched ( link bellow ) can't really give us the "feel"... More P-47 Helmet Cam - YouTube P.S.:Further looking into it, it appears to me it's probably due to that "peculiar" mode of modeling p-factor in DCS. the "sluggish" oscillations occur mostly at low speed / high AoA and higher power settings.
  4. Art-J, thx for the follow up. I'm glad it's fixed ! DCS World and the ED modules are always for me and other seasoned ( grumpy ) simmers a reference in terms of accuracy / quality / dedication to the flight and systems modelling, even if, like me, most of us don't even use DCS as a combat platform ( I already have a lot to combat IRL to want to pay to play more combat in leisure times :-) )
  5. Well, not my video, but one I found from a P-47 user : Weird P-47 FDM quirk Condition appears to be being in a sidelsip ( ? ). No chance for the 190s or 109 against this one
  6. Well, it looks realistic to me, also, applying your glider wind gradient example, don't forget the deck of the Carrier is maybe 60 ft height, so, the wind at that height should be more intense than at MSL... I don't think DCS's weather model encompasses the modelling of turbulent flow due to structures, but IRL the deck of a carrier in a windy day should actually be even more tricky due to that...
  7. Just saying I want my glider stick forces and prop torque in ALL DCS Modules! NOW! :pilotfly:
  8. I am sorry to say, but DCS prop fighters fall short from realistic compared to my glider!!! I have tested it several times and I don't experience anywhere near those stick forces and even less the torque effects, unless I enter a rotor... So, ED, work on your FDM and make it all feel like a glider please!
  9. It's a "C" model in this video, but worth following the flow...
  10. A BIG Thank You to ED for this initiative. It actually made me install, again, this superb sim, and acquire all ( less the D-9 ) ww2 modules, plus the ww2 assets pack and Normandy, and I have had a great time online again, after months away from DCS :-) ED and DCS Rulezzzzz !!!!
  11. In my case the problem actually comes to play when flying low, not high. Configured for landing, and in the short final, sometimes it looks strangely slow motion when you look around. Also, I don't fly any jets in DCS - just WW2 stuff :-), and waiting for the announcement of a ww2 military glider .... :pilotfly:
  12. Yes, it's a complex problem, the representation of 3d in 2d, and I do have some experience flying IRL since 1980, gliders, so..., a lt slower than a 109 configured for landing in most of my approaches :-) and yet, I do have a rather different sensation from my glider... There was an option that I once tried in the Graphics settings of DCS ( "Depth of Filed" ) but it was a true frame rate killer.
  13. Oh, but I do have my wife at home now while playing DCS... Isn't that enough of Butt Kicking already ?
  14. I concur with the OP. Sometimes I have that same sensation of a very slow relative motion to terrain. It's more obvious over the default Caucasus scenery than on Normandy ( the only two scenery areas I have installed ). I agree that adjusting FoV may help, but it sometimes feels really weird.
  15. Hi 85t_Maverik, please check your PMs. Unfortunately some of the links are no good :-( so I'll to find the original texts somewhere else.
  16. Well, after all this years, and whenever I return to DCS - only for the ww2 props and the uh-1h - I remember those discussions, as well as the one I had with Yo-Yo regarding a "weird" effect of downwash under high x-wind takeoffs where the aircraft during the initial takeoff roll can actually call for rudder into the wind and aileron away from the wind - the kind of stuff I would never imagine could be realistic... Yet, after having come across some pilot descriptions and even a scientific ( aerodynamics ) paper I started reconsidering it and giving Yo-Yo the credit he really deserves. OTOH, I am just a glider pilot IRL, grounded for ages now with Covid... so, who am I to say it is or isn't correctly modelled ...
  17. Exactly Art-J, that's it, and I had just found it when I noticed you had replied in this thread. Thx! Will track this bug - no big deal, and I am really enjoying my "new" P-51D N25 module :-)
  18. Sometimes inflght the engine sound turns into a rather low pitch variant, as if I had transitioned the sound barrier ?
  19. Does this still apply, even for non VR users ?
  20. Running very acceptably in my rig ( i5 2500 @ 3,3 GHz + 16 GB DDR3 RAM + GTX 960 4GB GDDR5 ) with SSLR and the other option that can be used with a multiplyer factor in the Nvidia GPU also OFF. I alternate between 2x and 4x AA. Runs between 60+ and 40, sometimes down to the 30s in complex scenarios, but still very acceptable.
  21. MrExplosion, your mission was the first time I flew a complete mission in DCS! Thank you for making it available! It was really FUN!
  22. It's a question I've been willing to ask for some time. What's the "clock rate" for the flight simulation engine? Are there any other clock rates - for other components of the simulation - and in that case what are their values? I'm curious to learn :-)
  23. I did it in the past, but I forgot how to :-( When I first load the Spitfire in a QuickStart mission or go direct to the Configurations menu and defina all of the controls, it goes ok until I load a mission with the CW variant - then I find none of my defintions is there :-/ What's the easiest / safe way to port all of my defs to the CW model ? Thx!
