  1. Has anyone found a site benchmarking 3080 and 3090 with DCS?
  2. Got my slew axis upgrade kit from Delta Sim today. The quality seems very good. Easy to install with good documentation. Restored default settings in USB game controllers. Installed new Thrustmaster drivers. Rebooted. Ran the Throttle Warthog Calibration (V1.07) tool from Delta Sim Electronics homepage. The button click works and registers as BTN1, but no luck with the axis. What can I do?

  4. I've ejected, and my wingmen have ejected, while flying in canyons in enemy territory after loosing one engine. Even with stores jettisoned you'll have a really hard time trying to climb a mountain pass up ahead. Being able to override fuel flow and gaining thrust would be of tremendous use for us, even though it might lead to an engine write off after landing (depending on the temperatures reached during override, of course). I hope this illustrates a real world example that members would appreciate implemented, even though A-10 might have a feature complete status.
  5. Thanks, didn't realize that two of the screenshots did have the GPU and CPU load. The way I read the figures, DCS is never albe to "max" the 1070, and the CPU load would equal two cores running at max. Right? Wrong??
  6. Right now DCS comes with a 6.44 MB Web Installer. I think it supports resume, but I'm not 100% sure. Anyway, with a 90k bandwidth, I'd recommend you to bring your computer with you to a place with proper internet connection and do the installation there.
  7. If you are referring to the Founders Edition your statement holds true. But the vendors have released overclocked versions of the card. So far, Asus and MSI have the fastest cards with Asus ROG STRIX-GTX1080-O8G-GAMING having a small edge on the MSI card.   8. Hi! I'm looking to upgrade my GTX 780, and I've got an Asus 4K G-Sync monitor. Do you, or anyone else, know if you are now GPU limited or CPU limited? If the 1070 maxes the CPU I see no need at all to spend the extra money to get the 1080. I'd be REALLY grateful to answers to this (GPU / CPU limited at 4K). I think MSI Afterburner (or similar tools) will give you the answer, it shows GPU load) PS2: I've got a I5-2500K CPU running at 4.2 GHz watercooled

  10. You are probably looking for TMS forward long. Also, if the waypoints have altitude above groundlevel, the TGP will stare straight through the waypoint and into the ground far away, hence you will see no targets. Also, take a look in the lower left side of the HUD, there you will see either STPT or TDC as an indication to what is the TGP sensor designator. This is described at pages 400-401 in the manual
  11. Edit: Yes, you will be fine, this is with a single GTX 780 OC and a i5-2500K @ 4.2 GHz, 16 GB RAM. Got 2x 24" and one 27" 4k monitor with Gsync, running DCS only on the 4k. After removing nvidia experience, I get 170 FPS at low settings at 4k in DCS World 1.5.2, instant action A10C, georgia hills easy. (Before I uninstalled the nvidia stuff I got approx 20 FPS. That's a long way from 170 FPS that I get now.) Edit 2: With 16x AA, high, textures, 2X MSAA and Ultra view range I still get 140 FPS.

Using DCS 1.5.0 fails to load "CONTROLS" page if the following two lines are present in default.lua: --Alternate Weapon Selection Dial --{down=device_commands.ASPlauncherSelect,cockpit_device_id=devices.WEAPON_CONTROL,value_down=weapon_selecter(),name='Select Weapon Dial Clockwise',category='Weapons / Select'}, --{down=device_commands.ASPlauncherSelect,cockpit_device_id=devices.WEAPON_CONTROL,value_down=weapon_selecter(),name='Select Weapon Dial Counter Clockwise',category='Weapons / Select'}, Switching to another tab and back to CONTROLS seems to resolve the problem, but all the alternates are gone. Commening out the lines like above fixes the issue. Is the clockwise / counterclockwise broken in 1.5.0? Edit: just upgraded to 1.5.1, same issue there
  13. Tried running as admin - same result. Had a working router setup prior to OS reinstall, didn't change a thing there. I'm suspecting BitDefender of blocking the outgoing or incoming request, even though it SHOULD let traffic through, especially when disabled. But you never really know with AV suits. Update: All of a sudden it started working. I turned off web protection "Scan SSL", "Protection against fraud" and "Protection against phising". Like I've tried in the past. Then I was able to connect to multiplayer. And to the module manager. Tried to enable all BitDefender features, still working. Running DCS without admin - still working. It almost feels like someone at the ED side of things fixed something about my DCS World user account a couple of minutes ago.
  14. As I said, Windows runs just fine, nothing wrong with the ISO installation image. DCS also runs fine, nothing wrong with the installation binaries. If you read my OP, I am having issuing connection to the master server from within DCS World. That has nothing at all to do with the ISO image used for my windows installation. (BTW: I even checked the SHA-1 checksum of the win iso prior to install) Any other thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
  15. Hi! I've just installed DCS World 1.2.14.36041 on a brand new Windows 10 X64 CTP 9926 with Bitdefender Total Security 2015. The game runs fine, but I cannot connect to the module manager or multiplayer. I've changed my password and confirmed that I can log on to my accound using my password at digitalcombatsimulator.com. Then I've tried disabling the Bitdefender Firewall, Antivirus, On Access Scanning, Web Protection, Vulnerability Scan, Intrusion Detection and Antispam (at the same time. Still same result). I've checked the Bitdefender log (no entries), BitDefender Firewall rules (DCS.exe, DCS_Updater.exe and Launcher.exe all with any -> accept), Windows Firewall is switched off. DCS.log: 00005.794 INFO NET: client has started 00005.794 INFO EDCORE: (dDispatcher)enterToState_:4 00019.825 ERROR NET: Can't connect to Master: SSL connect error 00019.825 ERROR NET: Master login : 503 00043.274 INFO NET: client has stopped DCS Module manager error message: Invalid login or password. (Works on the web) Multiplayer error message: Cannot connect to master.

  18. I've succeeded in running multiplayer in Azure. That might be an option for you, the upload speeds are unbelievable.
  19. Hi! I've been experimenting running DCS World 1.2.10 in Azure. So far I've been able to successfully run DCS World multiplayer with TARS on a custom mission and 4 pilots flying with the Azure cloud server performing flawlessy. Server: Basic Large (A3), 4x CPU, 7 GB RAM. Windows Server 2012 R2. Tried A2, but it ran out of its 3 GB of RAM and everything went haywire. A3 costs $0.30 / hr of running, it can easily be switched on and off. The CPU's are actually 2.2 GHz, despite the control panel stating the old value of 1.6 GHz. Config changes: Make sure you set render3d=false in the DCS World\config\graphics.lua file, you might also want to change the max_fps to 20 or so since no one is watching the game there anyway. Firewall settings: Open 10308 both TCP and UDP in and out. Remeber to set up a TCP 10308 endpoint in the Azure config panel as well. Teamspeak / TARS: Set allow_object_export = true in the network.cfg file found in saved games/dcs/config/network.cfg Remaing challenges: Cannot start DCS World singleplayer. Launcher.exe + DCS_updater.exe: Hang forever just before splashscreen. The taskbar icon changes from green to steelgrey and then nothing happens. The CPU is loaded 80-90%, but nothing happens. DCS.exe: I get the splash screen, followed by a black DCS World screen with the blue top bar line with the letters DCS centered. The CPU load is almost nothing. I have tried changing compatiblity modes and running as admin, with the same results. Since multiplayer is working, whis issue would normally not bug me much, but in order to activate LotATC I need to enter singleplayer and fiddle with the options. Does anyone have any tips for a) get the singleplayer DCS world running or b) manually activate LotATC by config file changes? Unfortunately, it seems like the multiplayer server NEEDS a GPU to run the game in a satisfactory way. This means that we are abandoning our cloud server approach, and going to buy a physical, traditional server.
  20. Thank you for your input! It seems like the two buses, IAZ 695 and ZIU-9 both belong to red coalition (Ukraine, for example). I cant seem to be able to change Ukraine over to the blue side, and hence the bus will remain red. The bus is also marked as CIV in the mission editor, will red forces open fire on CIV targets?

I am pretty new to mission designing, but I have set up the following scenario: A tourist bus has been held back at a roadblock, insulgents are threatening to kill the passengers if certain demands are not met. You and a wingman are assigned to assess the situation, and if possible take out any threats to the bus. See attached trigger. What I have tried to manage, (but not completely succeeded in) is this: * The units must not panic-flee after first bomb impact. (success, but not sure if I've solved it the correct way) * After attacking any Red coalition forces the tank and the BMP group will open fire at the bus after 15 seconds. I've tried a lot of solutions for this, see the attached miz file. * After all enemy forces are destroyed the bus can move forward a bit, and an enemy Hind appear (think I might manage) * If the bus is destroyed the mission is a failure. So you better learn to love those GBU38's and set some markpoints. I would appreciate any help in this mission! trouble.miz
  22. Hi! Coming at a tank from about 20k, I started tracking the tank in the MAV page about 10 miles out. Some time after coming into range, about 7.5 miles out, the DLZ disappeared and it turned black. I cannot find a description of this in the manual.
