  1. hi everyone, did a quick search and didn't find a similar topic. What setting is it on the external cameras that's causing me so much lag? Long time since I played and external used to be a great way to check my aircraft out, now it looks like a tilt-shift camera and absolutely murders my framerate (even though my rig is now far beefier). Cheers!
  2. Hi all, looking for multiplayer maps for A-10C in Caucasus but there's very few on the store (three to be exact). Ideally, looking for some static targets to teach some friends how to shoot things. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is this something I should seek to set up a server for? Cheers :)
  3. Lol at the above, I did the same thing. Bought the campaign yesterday, finally got to the combat mission and am experiencing a traffic jam. Circled for 20 minutes and they never moved. Tried twice more, same issue.
  4. Ah excellent, was worried something had gone awry. Have bought Red Flag, currently doing mission 2 and hoping there's no shooting as I've got hung stores. Did remember how to do a TACAN landing though! Enemy Within for 1.5 looks good too. Any idea when 1.5 and 2 will merge? Thanks Newy :)
  5. Hi all, apologies if this is a stupid question. I hopped on a while back and bought NTTR just to make sure it was there when I needed it, but overall it's been over a year since I dragged my flight gear out of storage. I seem to recall I had a lot of campaigns available to me, at least one for each module (I own all of them up to the Mig-21bis). Is it just that I'm playing 2.0 that there aren't any campaigns? Or have they all been taken out of the game and converted to paid DLC? I hope it's not this last one. Will be back to check replies once I finish Red Flag... see you in a few hundred days :D
  6. That explains why Dead Rising 3 is a little choppier than normal :D
  7. A-10C is a module of DCS World, so yes, you will need DCS World in order to play the A-10C. Why can't you get DCS World to install?
  8. Pilgramige, get some thicker skin, his response was fine and you've taken it the wrong way. This thread started out brilliantly useful and quickly boiled down to nothing. So I have a question. I've been using the Flanker Squadron video to get started with the F15's radar and I finally understand what it is I'm looking at and how I can use it to determine the exact altitude and direction of targets that are BVR. However, someone above talked about pulsing which is really interesting, as is how TWS doesn't alert the other pilot on their RWR. Could someone perhaps dot-point their radar activity after take off? Like, "use RWS at this range and change altitude this frequently and then switch it off for this long..." and so on? Also, where does the ECM come into things? Thanks :)
  9. Thanks for the reply Grimes, I look forward to continuing my campaign! Has this bug affected the other official A-10 campaigns? Also, HUGE thanks for the scoreboard tip... as long as it's over 50 does that mean I can land and the mission will be successful and I can start the next one?
  10. Hiya! 1. After downloading, updating and activating the Mig-21, I went back to my Georgian Hammer A-10C campaign, mission 3, and I spawn into an su-25T... but this is an A-10C campaign. Did the update kill this campaign or have I made an error? 2. Is there anything that tells you, while in the campaign, that you've met the mission requirements? The only reason I logged out and found the above was because I was checking if I'd completed the requirements of the second mission to take out the artillery and then the Mig-21 update happened.
  11. I'd love to see racing.. some circles to fly through, some obstacles and timings.
  12. I've never liked using TARGET, can anyone post their naked Hog layout?
  13. All good, this was entirely a registry issue (I recently lost my OS SSD). Uninstalled, reinstalled (with all modules including lock on and lomac 2) and it's all working beautifully. Thanks, my fault, sorry for the bother.
  14. Hi Mastiff, thanks for responding. Sadly, that didn't work either... when I point it at the DCS World folder, it shows the path to that ending with \New Folder. When I changed that new folder to read 'UH-H1' it then says to ensure that patch 1.2.4 is installed... which it definitely is as i've been flying online all night. Anyone else having this issue?
  15. Hiya, as the title says, when I run the installer the installer path is blank. Not sure what folder I should be pointing it towards... just to my DCS World folder?
  16. But that would make sense... a cockpit is just an art asset. Netcode is all about how each players plane interacts with other planes and the environment and that sounds indivisible between SP and MP as both contain the same elements (planes, armour, missiles, etcetera). I just don't think it's as easy as doing separate patches or handing out fixes one thing at a time. Given the fidelity of the DCS World game in general, I'm quite happy for ED to continue focusing on a very high quality standard. With that said, I'm really quite worried about modules. If netcode is an issue in a patch, could that possibly become more and more complicated as each module is introduced? I'm getting a little worried that the underlying architecture won't live up to the dream... and that this ongoign 'all on one server' compatibility will become undoable. But then I shut up, am thankful for A-10C and stop posting in this thread altogether :D
  17. Didn't see the BW version, thanks man, I will definitely have that for $30!
  18. Well, I like that the lulu version is hardcover, but there's no way I'm spending $185 US on it. I got the Black Shark spiral-bound manual for what, $50? I'll buy from the guy who can make it in bulk to make it cheaper. Still waiting for this, ED! EDIT: wait, what? That IS from ED? $185? Are you for real?
  19. Hi Carl, if you go into your Steam Library and click on the DCS game (unsure if you got A10 or Black Shark) over on the right will be a list of things... amongst those will be 'CD Key'. Click on that, a new window will open up with your key. I hope that works :)
  20. That's not very helpful you two-headed fool! What are S77th's hours like?
  21. Hiya, I fly with the AEF 161 Squadron, but thanks to my late hours I'm never on at the same time as them anymore. I play from 11pm (AEST)most nights and am on GMT+11 (use this to see if it's comparitive to your own hours - http://www.timezoneconverter.com/cgi-bin/tzc.tzc) I'm keen for all DCS aircraft (in dire need of tuition when it comes to the doppler radar on the F-15C) but primarily I'm interested in running A-10C missions. Ideally, I would like to join a team that uses proper terminology, and also one that offers a decent education (I can deploy all weapons but have little knowledge of setting profiles in the DSMS and am absolutely useless at target-acquisition and datalinking). From what I've experienced with the netcode, my ping shouldn't make a difference to how the game plays but I'd suggest a minimum envelope of 5 meters for formation flying :D On me, I'm 35, my gear/rig is in my signature below and I can commit to regular hours as long as they're in my above-mentioned play-window. Thanks, I hope to hear from someone!
  22. That's my question too. I'm in Australia but work a late shift, I normally fly with the 161 Squadron (AEF's DCS-wing) but our timeframes never match. We're GMT+11 as far as time goes and I'm on from 11pm most nights. I'm actively seeking a serious squadron where I can have fun, learn new things and blow stuff up :D I'm proficient with the basics, can deploy weapons, but need more experience/education/exposure to datalink, in-air refueling, target location, etcetera... Does my timezone match your operating hours?
  23. Hiya, I find the in-game tutorials a little bit *SNOOOOOOOORE* and I need something a lot more up-beat. I would have thought that in each forum there'd be a resource or tutorial sticky but for the Mustang no such thing exists! Also, surprisingly, there's little around this on youtube also (which tells me that once I've got it all nailed down I should get decent hits from uploading my own). What I guess I really need is a tutorial that dispenses with telling me the 'why' of operation (like the interesting F-15 doppler-radar tutorial from 104th's Erik that presumes a little too heavily on prior knowledge, like 'now I lock the target' without saying what lock is) and just tells me "press Shift+L to activate electronics, now press 7 for air to ground" and so on... which is how my squadron mates taught me to fly the Su-25T for SEAD. I'll be much more able to handle the concepts if I am able to manipulate the aircraft at the same time. Can someone point me to a tutorial that fits the above descriptions for the Mustang, Su-25T and the Flaming Cliffs 3 aircraft? I'm very proficient with the Ka-50 and the A-10C so I'm quite ready to learn, but someone has got to make this easier!
  24. Hi Navy, I think this is helpful but it's virtually unreadable! Needs spacing and dot points so it's easier to read when you're in the cockpit.
