  1. As others said, check in your Controls settingss under the two follwings names: COMM Switch - Comm 1 (Ralt+\) Make sure it's backslash and not Slash COMM Switch - Comm 2 (RCtrl+\) Make sure it's backslash and not Slash
  2. If using the KC-135BDA yes as it's sorta broken, as the KC-130, for it to disconnect while flying forward for me, it only disconnect if i get way too close from the ose housing as if i could simply walk out my cockpit and step on and walk on the tanker's wings. But i sualy try to keep a distance from it i don't like amyways being too close.
  3. Both needs skills, that's not the point, what i mean is.. People going in for WVR more likly needs to master lots of maneuvers, flying principle, physics principle, maintain engery or speed, trade in energy for speed, vice versa, cosntantly knows visualy where the enemy is, and believe me, in VR it's something, not like using a TIR which you turn your head 5 degree and ingame actualy turns it 90 degrees, in VR when you got to move your head, shoulders etc as the real thing, not easy and get really challenging, get in WVR with a bird armed with Fox 1's and Ffox 2's, loose eyes on that bird and no RWR to tell you that a Fox 2 has been fired if you loose visual on it, well guess what. Plus, you realise with ages, the body doesn'T move as much as it used to. :) But again, WVR in DCS makes it easy for us, as we don't suffer the constant changes in G pulling as the real pilots must deal with. Yes BVR has tactics i don't say it doesn't, but skills in close dogfight, requires way much more skills and knowledge. Ask people pricinple of BVR and it all goes to the same thing and quite fast point out in a few sentences or points, notch, crank, beam the missile, bleed it's energy, ask for Gunfights and BFM and WVR, it can goes way further. And as DCS goes, people don't care spending 6 AAMRAM on a single target, as everthing is free, unlimited, you land, rearm. Yes in RL it's something, in DCS, video gaming industries, specialy on public Servers well, it's a matter of using 2 types of missles ltos of other aircrafts doesn't. In BVR, most all aircraft has Fox 1's and Fox 2's, so it's really different. Take someone who's kick ass at shooting SPAMRAAM, bring him close to someone flying a Mirage which knows all the basic of WVR, chances the F-15c pilot in game will end up stalling real quick. I simply image this as 2 people fighting hand to hand, two in close uses Martial Arts, get to know all the body weakness and strenght, master moves, know physics principle, then imagine one of those two expert, coming in with a guy armed with a gun, the guy 20 feets away look at the Martial Art expert, laugh, pull out a gun, and BAM, shoot him int he head and start thinking he's hot. :) Now, let that armed guy get close to the other dude, chances he'll get disarmed and his ass kicked. But yeah doing this would make him sure to survive. In other words, i have way much more respect for dogfighters then BVRers, but that's my own opinion. That's all i meant.
  4. i'D say just wait, it's been shown in this week's video it's done, just not sure which patch it'll be, next one or the next after, but in any cases, i wouldn't play with this mod anymore, anyways on my side since 2-3 patches ago, this mod made my game crash as i hop in the Hornet, so i'll just wait till the real NVG comes out. But if you plan to, i'D recommend, if you don'T do it reguarly, simply save all your controls profiles for each type (stick, throttle if sepearated from the stick), rudder, keyboard before playing with this module, so if it resets your bindings, simply reload profiles, so no issues for this.
  5. There can be as many different priority list as there is people on the forum, as each of us has their own priority likes, your list quoted, i'd named it « AMRAAM/Cheesy BVRer Priority List » ;) Mine was, Carrier op and navigation likes, or call it « Chicken Navigator/flyer not BVRing on public servers priority list » :) And guess what, Cross Track Error Indicator came on last patch or so and last component for it is comming soon maybe in next patch, the ICLS. :megalol: Patience my friend, we'll all have what we wish for, if you waited as long as i did for the Hornet, 8 years since i doscovered DCS and before it was even mentionned i was dreaming of it, each new features at new patches is like Xmast for me each time. :)
  6. I presume this is why the Hornet module is being called an Early Acess ;)
  7. Your idea wasn't that stupid, just need simply point Google in the right direction, like typing « Eastern Europe Georgia map » or « middle east georgia map » it would had be easier. :)
  8. I haven't really made Air to Air on public servers specialy for the reason lots uses F-15 or Su-27 for their so many almost fire and forget missiles, need to say for the F-15, the SPAMRAAM, always easier to spam missile at someone then risking to face a skilled pilot in dogfight as in game, BVR requires way less skills. As for the SU-27, it'S electro-mag missiles. And if you see someone in Mirage or what ever deosn't have those in-game cheesy missiles, i'm sure you'Re in for a good dogfight if you get in close, cuz it might be their control zones and they dare going face to those cheesy missiles aicrafts. I did back then a few tries on public sevcesr and totaly stop when i'Ve watched a Tacview track as i though i got killed by a guy i was in close in fight with and had a missile off before i killed him, but no, i got killed by a F-15, at 45 000 FT, spamming at me 7 AMRAMM'S in less than 7 seconds as i avoided his 2 first ones.... So that stoped me from going on there. As to answer your question, once the Hornet get it's AIM-12- SPAMRAMM chances you'll see tons of Hornets for BVR.
  9. Haven'T read all the replies, but make sure you contact Tower and request landing on each passes, as lights turns off almost as soon as the cable really stops you. And the Steenis default requency is 127.500. Not to mention, if in MP, lights will turn off when the person requesting landing lands as i said, so others not requesting, might end up no lights i think. Let'S hope ED will listen to my wishlist here. :P https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=215739 :pilotfly:
  10. A simple Visual Meteorological conditions and Instruments Meteorological Conditions could do it.
  11. Moral of the story... don't trust old 40's aircrafts :P
  12. Damn i got so rusted at Air combat, i was so sure semi-active (SARH) needed to be kept on lock until impact and AMRAAM where the ones to be self tracking once it goes pitbull... i need to refresh myself for when it comes onto the Hornet.
  13. Well i did the test, did a track taking off from an airfield and lading on the carrier, launching and reland on it, first pass was ok, second totaly off ended up in the break at 1200 ft instead of 800 ft. So replays desync when you get in contact with the carrier's, as it's alter's our altitude. At least now i can get to watch one trap from my replays. :)
  14. Some days i wish i had a better sytem, but when i realise the main and almost only game giving me issue in VR is DCS, that stops me from upgrading, depends of the situation, i can go between 25-45 FPS, but i can live with it, unfortunately, when i drop static objets on the Carrier, specialy F/A-18c Lot 20 Hornets, it really affects my FPS, so i leave the deck naked, a few settings at high. But what can i expect more from my old i7-2600k stock 3.4 Ghz and my small GTX 1070sc 8gb, i try to extend the expence for a new system further more. :)
  15. When it gets to Curves, it's all becomes each of us as matter of taste and skills and the hardware we are using, like there was in R/C when i was flying my big « lawnmower », not all helicopter pilots or airplane pilots had their Remote curves set the same, some were more skilled with more nerours aircraft behavior, some others was more secure with laysy arcraft behavior some used curves, some otehr lineraire curves used as saturation. But remember the basics of how curves works and TalonX exactly explained it well in Post #3. On my side, with my X-56 Rhino, i use a deadzone of 3 for both Pitch and Roll, as even the slightlest stick's micro movement will becomes annoying to set the A/P in the Hornet. And instead of a Curve i simply use Saturation Y to 90 just to tune it down a little on both axis, 90 gives me a sweet spot of a straight lineair softner up to the end, and 90 is not enough to reduce the maximum stick travel i can input, again on my side, i have no choice to, because i'm using a soft spring as i flew helicopter before the Hornet came out, so again i set it up to my liked, once i got a setup i feel comfortable to fly with, i try some Air-Air fight, bombing run, Air Refueling and Carrier landings to see how it react in all these situations which required from small and soft movement to fast and a little more agressive movement. As for the Rudder, it's another story, it required more, if not, on the runway when taking of or landing, i get dancing all over the place with the slightlest input.
  16. simple question, did you take off the Carrier or land based? Just realised yesterday, when i take off from landbased my Replays are fine, but as soon as i start up from the Carrier, it's totaly desynch, so far i did 6 tracks with one pass taking off from land, and traped on the carrier, all was fine. When i take off from the Carrier, i can'T even get one pass synch, as soon as i turn in for the break i loose sorta 200 ft anytime i start from the Carrier's deck. I'll have to try, doign a few patterns and see how it goes, from now i only tried once cuz i was trying to record a video, so one pass was fine.
  17. Sorry my friend, self controls applies when we have beers and boose in front of us, not in the Hornet. ;) :joystick:
  18. +1 Totaly agree, that's why i ended up getting a trick, when i do full pattern practice sessions i ended up setting on the ATC as i turn and climb to free my left hand to contact tower..... need to say all this done blindly by the feeling of the keyboard as i am blind.... nah kidding, i'm in VR so all the access to menus are annoying, all this to get lights on.
  19. I know tihs might have been spoked of quite a bit, but i was wondering if it would be complicated, to add in the ME an option in the Stennis pages, where we got payloads, waypoints etc.. for aircraft, to add an option to keep lights on with a checkbox, pretty much like where the Hardpoints option is for the Huey or the IR Shield As much as stupid as it sounds, in VR the lights does makes a huge difference to spot the carrier's runway on dusk or dawn day time when turning in for the Groove, which are the 2 time of day that really shine in DCS with all the lightning effects. Specialy for people not running on max graphics setup, and got to admit, it's a bit annoying to always have to call the tower when doing Patterns practice to keep them up on all the time, and quite a few times, i got to recall it twice cuz it seems once in a while the ATC doesn't wanna talk to me :P, i know in RL it's not always on, but whe're not in RL and sometimes suff are hard to see on a 2D Screen or in VR.
  20. I do have quite a few modules, but same here, since the Hornet came out, all the others stays in my hangar, and, i'm afraid, will be for a long time unfortunately. Not way will i ever cheat on this beauty, i'm way too afraid Bitching Betty will start yelling at me for flying something else. :music_whistling:
  21. Yep was there since DCS 2.5.2.18307 Update 3, but was unstable, as i know some people that crashed quite a lot with the features unremarked. Now it's implemented, and stable. :)
  22. I'm pretty sure it'll be more of an help to anyone trying to help you if you maybe provided your mission as for them to try and see stuff, hard to say like this.
  23. I might be mistaken, if he's on Speed, Orange Donut, his AoA/Pitch should be 8.1, though to achieve it, he needs to be faster as more throttle is required to maintain the drag required to avoid falling down like a rock with the lack of drags from the flaps deployed, so more likely faster than the 150 kts zone, but i might be wrong as i never tried with flaps up.
  24. Thanks for the updated chart man!
  25. Well, more or less 5-6 weeks now since the Hornet came out on Open Beta for most of us... I got to blame ED for one thing... Since May 30, i keep buying some VR Games on Oculus Store when those i am interested comes on special. But, because of the Hornet since that « H » Hour/Day, my list of unprogressed VR games also grows up as my new purchased games grows more or less untouched... The few moments o have to plug on my computer or the long moments :) I just keep sitting my semi-fat ass in my Hornet's virtual reality cockpit. The so many years i've been waiting was worth each days of waiting. So each time i get free time to plug in, well, i either end up going in for some Carrier Trap, Bomb Runs, Refueling or simply « TRY » to go on Air to Air with some AI's. Since my younger age this aircraft made me dream of flying (ok i'm lieng, younger around the 80's, the Tomcat was my fav one and that was because of G I. Joe :) But did the Hornet became my Heavy Metal Sexy Beauty ove in early 90's. (I found back then the Hornet as sexy as the X-Wing) :P And with all the details ED came up upon on this modules, the constant evolution of the sim's engines, effects, details, lightning effect, speculars, roughmet, got to say in VR, it sorta fill a small dream, in virtual ways. After 5-6 weeks, i got to say, thanks to all the team, all the reserches, all the talking and paper signing with Boeing. My virtual dream of having a Hornet in DCS since i discovered the Sim in 2010 is finaly here. I was so expecting this module for so long, that's it's one of the first module all the bugs, unemplemented yet system/features doesn'T makes me impatient, because i'm so thankful to be able to fly this bird now in DCS. ED, this module is the first one, that i can say, makes me sad for going in 2D Graphic design in late 90's, the result of 3D modeling is so awesome now and the potential a competent team with time and lots of efforts, can come upon with. Thumbs up! (Enough chit-chatt, now, time to go in for a quick fly before going back to my daily stuff) :pilotfly:
