  1. If you are going to be in it for the long haul, spend the money and get a Virpil base--smooth as butter--and a stick grip of your liking. I realize it is out of a lot of our means, but if you CAN afford it, you will not be sorry. I just got the Virpil warbird base and TM Hornet stick grip in the last month or so which ended up costing me ~$500, but I believe it will be MORE than worth it. Add the TM TWCS throttle for ~$90 and I'm stoked as it has enough buttons on it for what I believe I need... Bit of stiction on the throttle, but I loosened it almost all the way up and that solved most issues. I usually run it back and forth a few times before a flight to get it "loosened up", though. This ain't a cheap hobby, as I am sure you are WELL aware of!!!
  2. Similar situation here. I repaired the beta version and disabled my OVGME stuff but no dice. Just bought the campaign as I was looking for some hot ACM action on a Friday night with myself and dagnabit! WPs seem to be 180° out, distance is stuck at around 212mi and don't change. Please fix. Feel like I was just scammed out $10.
  3. Yeah it is tricky... I have a TWCS throttle and I also use the unrealistic TDC setting. My settings are Deadzone at 10 and Curvature for vert/horiz both at +5. Try being real gentle and make small inputs on your TDC, you'll get it. I still have not mastered this, but it DOES work as per Wags' vid, you just have to be accurate. Even though I DID lock up a target, a MAVF still missed it... Dunno why, but prolly the control stick actuator (that'd be me) screwing things up...
  4. So here's a link to the video... Any ideas?
  5. Nothing there when I clicked on it but a description of the building.
  6. Do you mean in ME? The info bit that pops up on the right of the screen when you click an object? If so, I'll check this.
  7. So I just attempted this again. Load out is 2 J82s, a J84 and a J109. J82s were set up for feet for elevation, while the J84 and J109 were set up for meters. One J82 hit it's target, the other missed and the J84 and J109 also hit their targets. It's like the game is AI or something and learns to get better. Nothing changed. GPS Coords were confirmed. Video to confirm all hits. Hit me up if ya wanna see it.
  8. Yes, Sir, I did confirm that. This was my own mission brief that was "triple checked" for accuracy. I used the coordinates off of the Mission Editor map. Harlikwin--Excellent for you! Still jacked up for me. Also, when I put the GPS coordinates in the JDAM mission profile, I also noticed as I was inbound to the target, the diamonds in the HUD were on the ground when I used feet, and in the air when I used meters--which is how it SHOULD show. They just land short when I use feet... I have run several "repairs" as well. I'll try again with a mixed load out of weapons and feet and meters and see what ones hit and fall short. I am confident I will see the same thing.
  9. Negative, Grease... INS alignment is good to go.
  10. Yeah, I have video of all three hitting 100's of feet short. It's a mystery to me why my bombs are all off. I have the latest OpenBeta update--2.5.5.31917. I was dropping from 20k' at about 350-360KIAS. To get the most accurate Lat/Long, I zoomed in to 10' on the map in ME and put the cursor in the center of the target. Verified Lat/Long on JDAM Mission page before taxiing. Also, I'm using the "Precise Lat/Long" under "Misc." for "Coordinate Display" in settings. Would mods cause this? I am running the Echo (I think it's called) engine sound mod, and have some custom skins I'm running... I wouldn't think this would affect it at all...
  11. Seems we still have to put in meters for elevation instead of feet... Tried with J84, the J109 and J82. The fourth time flying the mission I set it to meters and it hit the target with J82s. Haven't tried the rest... I trust this will eventually be addressed. EDIT--All targets were in PP mode.
  12. Yeah, it seems kinda steep...
  13. Just saw this... http://www.amazon.de/Thrustmaster-F18-Hotas-Stick-AddOn/dp/B07S5FC1HS That's about $223US... I wonder when it will be available in the US...
  14. That was exactly it. I don't know how that got checked. I certainly didn't do it as I had to search for where to find it! I hope someone may be able to verify that the new patch didn't switch this automatically somehow. PS--Thanks, Whaaw!
  15. Newest Open Beta update 2.5.4.30038 renders all throttle inputs unresponsive on self-made missions and pre-planned training missions that came the module for Hornet. Here is what I have done to troubleshoot-- Verified wireless mouse and keyboard respond outside of game and free and clear of any RF interference--check Attempted to re-enter keyboard combos to move to "Idle" (in my case RCtrl+Home for right engine and RALT+Home for left engine)--no response Attempted to move throttle--no response Attempted to move throttle with mouse--no response Searched for key combo conflicts--none. Used the default "move throttle up/down" key combos of RCtrl+PageUp/+PageDown;RShift+PageUp/+PageDown--No response Repaired install via Start Menu--no change Restarted computer--no change Re-updated Open Beta--no change I don't see where a video or .trk file would prove anything as you can't see my keystrokes.
  16. For potentially more info (though a bit different--hope it doesn't add confusion)-- I had a similar issue where if I weapon designated the target's way point on the HSI, the seeker head on the missile would snap back up to the caged position after releasing the TDC button when attempting to lock up a target. I had to deselect the weapon designate option on the HSI for the way point to make the seeker head travel properly and lock up a target I believe after I restarted my computer, it worked fine with the way point target designated. BTW, I am using keyboard arrow buttons to slew the seeker head while pressing the TDC button on my throttle.
  17. So I got back on it, and moved the targets from a little valley and into wide open spaces... Out of 8 LGBs, 3 hit--one miss was because I screwed up and forgot to make the "IN" call, but the other 4 were all something else. Tried checking out then checking back in. First time I dropped after a good shack when I got the "shift" call from AFAC, didn't realize what it meant and missed on second pass. Next round hit. Shifted and a miss. Meh... lots of time for lots of missed ordnance. Guess I need more hours. Does anyone else have issues with multiple targets at the same WP?
  18. They seem to be tracking... "better"... Also--and I don't think it matters--I set the speed of the WP to as low as it would go (~126kts). Does the TYPE of WP matter--eg, flyover vice turning point? I didn't notice any "swaying", but I may have gotten to the wep view too late... so probably just the ballistic arc. Everything seemed good to go from the AFAC. INS and everything else was good to go as well. Thanks for the assistance this far, Backspace! I gotta go to bed--work tonight--but I'll be on again after work to sort this pig out!
  19. Had that issue, Fisherman... Ok so I set the altitude of the WP to the ground elevation, still off, but sort of close... only a quarter of a mile off now! Lol...
  20. Yeah, it was set to about 18k'... I guess that could make a huge difference, eh? Lemme go try and fly this pig again and I'll report back in a bit...
  21. I have spent two hours or more trying to get this to work and am a bit frustrated. Using OpenBeta. GBU-12s on BRU-33s on stations 2,3,7,8 for a total of 8 GBU-12s. EFUZ--INST Mode-AUTO Quantity--1 Master to ARM A/G selected Laser code--1688 (and showing under each station) Using an AFAC A-10 with a laser FLIR pod on to designate a line of tanks at WP3 in a mission I made Wep designated the WP on HSI When I go in, the timer until drop ALWAYS begins at 99 and release is about 1.2-1.5mi away from target--if I even get to drop. My altitudes have been anywhere from 14k' to 20k'. I've made the "IN" call between 15 and 10 miles. Bombs are ALWAYS off. Not even remotely close. Have the latest update. Is there a specific distance to target that works better with the IP INBOUND, 10 SECONDS, LASER ON, SPOT and IN calls or does it matter? Does the AFAC's position relative to the target matter for lasing? I gotta be screwing something simple up, what is it?
  22. Ok, so I had the same problem... I think I MAY have a fix--or at least this is what I did and it ended up working... I repaired the OB install, restarted my computer and went back into my mission I created (a simple cold and dark start-up in Nellis). Started up (there was some lag in ground crew vox--responding after they had attached power and air), extended my nose strut (is this a real world thing? I followed Jabbers tutorial and took notes on everything he did and this was not one of them), then selected NWS and went to an outside view to see if the nosewheel was turning. It wasn't turning that much. But when I added power and got rolling, I had full NSW steering authority. I'll also say the first time I tried this prior to repairing the install and restarting I went into full AB and didn't move one bit. I also had zero external lights (which is still unresolved), but I'll be looking for a fix to that in here.
  23. So I got this baby downloaded before work and when I got home I couldn't wait to fly it... At last it is here! First off, hats off to Heatblur! This is a killer module. No I didn't read the manual ("RTFM, DUDE!!!") yet so I'm well aware of shortcomings I've experienced thus far. Still trying to get a good cockpit familiarization going to figure out where the heck everything is--granted I jumped straight into the free flight after spending about an hour configuring my keyboard, throttle and stick bindings. Seems like a pretty low count of bindings at this point compared to the Hornet, but more to follow I am sure. I gotta say, this thing climbs! Throttle management will be a "thing" to learn unlike in the Hornet. I haven't managed to pull the friggin' wings off of it yet but I'm sure I will at one point. Seems relatively stable--figured there would be a bunch more problems. Jester is gonna be fun to figure out... tried messing with it a bit, but sorting out how to choose options will be another big thing for me and I believe this needs to get sorted before I get into any sort of fight. Anyway, what are YOUR first impressions of the model?
