If it works, when you press it, you should see an iron cross on your RADAR display and you won't receive or xmit any RF whatsoever...

1) In standby, the RADAR doesn't transmit. It won't xmit on deck though--needs weight off wheels ("WOW")... 2)Gens automatically come online when engines turn. 3)Guard channel is for emergencies IRL. I don't know if it has any real significance in this sim. 4)Yes. 5)TACAN allows you to find A/A targets (friendly anyway) as well such as tanker. 7)Yes. It IS that accurate. 8)All up to you, but DDIs are easier to navigate when switching WPs. 10)One would assume. 11) 12)Means "zero knots". 13)Horizontal and vertical error. It will always assumedly be good in this sim. Hope this helps.

Using Thrustmaster HOTAS--not the Warthog, the $50 stick/throttle combo. Also, it seems everything I have mapped in the F-18 SIM controller section does not work in Instant Action--in fact, I have zero throttle control (except the left/right horizontal switch on the throttle--the actual throttles don't work), can select weapons but they can't be fired. I can go up and down and left and right. Boo. In the training missions (Cold and Dark specifically--you know you all have done the taxiway take off...) I can fire the gun, drop the bombs and assumedly jett the tank (tho haven't attempted that). Everything also works as mapped. It's beta, I understand and flying around on the training missions boomin' the cities and whatnot is fun, but I kinda figured there'd be more.

Other than the aforementioned Asian voice on OBOGS, the FCS IBIT yellow square arrow things around the switch under right canopy rail and top left button on RDDI never went away. But on the second attempt at this, I found when I cycled the speed brake, these arrow box things cycled to the next item.

I'll give you partial points for the part about not knowing what to expect, but still dude. Some of us are new to this and don't have the time to read EVERYTHING and expect/assume/etc (through nothing else but our own ignorance) that the map would be full-up and available on the stable version. I did. And if you respond, you should maybe try to be a bit more helpful, I'd think--we're all here to fly these rad sims and modules and have fun. This is a community and if ya can't be helpful in responding, then call him a stupid bastard under ya breath and move right along. Everyone starts somewhere, bro. And some of us are smart enough to figure stuff out on our own and some of us need a little guidance from the guys who have been doing this longer (like yourself). Nobody likes to be put down. Now, if you've helped the same person on the same stuff multiple times, then yeah, by all means, slag the stupid bastard! Lol... EDIT--And yeah, now that I think about it... Early Access and Beta DO seem a bit synonymous... Lol. Makes sense.

I am reinstalling the Beta version--as I already have the "stable" version. PG map and Hornet (within the week) should work if I understand correctly.
