  1. Creating missions is often difficult for many. Advanced triggers, for example require the thought process of programmer in order to make them work, if at all. It would be great to apply some AI to the process of: Populating bases. Positioning SAM sites with engagement orders. Placing various field formations, including static objects. Giving movement routes with attacking and defending units in a batch rather than one unit at a time. Doing this with user friendly visual options and with natural language commands would be ideal. I hope AI can tackle these kinds of tasks.
  2. Actually, I have never used a mod manager with DCS. I tried one with MSFS2020 and it was a real mess as the mod itself needed updating which caused all sorts of issues, on top of the mods themselves. Regarding the mods needing other mods, I cannot say. The descriptions of the StaticTemplates say nothing about other mods being required.
  3. Great. I got it working. It seems that I had changed the folder name as StaticTemplates. The folder name should have been StaticTemplate. Interesting that one letter in the folder name was enough to foul up the works. Now that I am able to access the StaticTemplate list, I have another. I just added one of the templates to two airports in the map, added a player flyable plane. However, I cannot fly the edited map. Is there something different in the map once a StaticTemplate is added? How do I fly the map?
  4. I will try again. Maybe there something which prevented the list from populating.
  5. I have found several templates on the User File resource. Once I download and Un-Zip the files, what do I do with the files? Where are static template files stored? When I open the Load Templates from within the mission editor, there are no files in the list.
  6. for a new user, It takes a long time to populate a base with static and/or active units. It would help move things along if there were an option to auto populate and base with static of active units per the widget.
  7. I just noticed that the key bindings on all my modules have gone wacky. Left rudder controls the throttle, right rudder pushes the stick to the left, etc. Cleared bindings on one module, set new bindings and the above functions remain. This is happening with DCS and DCS Open Beta.
  8. I am not able to run standalone DCS under SteamVR. Each time I attempt to start DCS open Beta, SteamVR crashes and shows a -203 error. Restarting both applications does nothing to resolve the problem. However, the Steam version of DCS runs under SteamVR with no issues at all. What am I doing wrong in launching the standalone DCS for VR?
  9. I have a hard time getting this helicopter to slow down into a hoover without the machine instantly going into VRS.
  10. How did you program and DMS and TMS long and short presses?
  11. To do multipliers, you bring up the virtual key press screen and select whichever combination you choose.   13. I am having an issue with the KA50 default view out of the cockpit. The default cockpit view is far too close. For the KA50 specifically, in the ../aircraft/KA50 folder there is no views.lua file. With most, if not all DCS aircraft there are views.lua files where FOV settings may be changed. How does one go about making adjustments to the KA50 default FOV on the KA50???
  14. I am having an issue with the cockpit views in the KA50. You mentioned here that there is a views.lua file in the ../aircraft/FA-18 folder. Why is there no views.lua file in the ../aircraft/KA50 folder? Should there be? If not, how would I resolve cockpit view issues with the KA50?
  15. Awsome. The .miz file seems to be a compression file like a .zip. Inside the .miz is a folder named "Syria - Free Flight". Do I need to uncompress the .miz? Inside the ../Missions/Campaigns path are three folders named: en, MultiLang, and ru. In which of these folders do I place the .miz or uncompressed .miz folder? Sorry for all the questions, But with no instructions what choice have I?

  17. Thanks for the input guys. Does this mean that this and upcoming maps will not include instant action missions like all the other maps in DCS?

  20. All of the maps have instant action missions, except the Syria map. Is this to be expected with this and all coming maps? Or, is this a bug with this map only?
  21. Attempting to create a Fast Missions in Advanced Mode, the mission is not being generated. Selecting the Syria Map in the Advanced Mode, the map overlay is grayed-out as though the map did not exist. However, then creating a Fast Mission while not in the Advanced Mode, the missions will get generated. So, it seems that generating missions in advanced mode is not working.
  22. How are you guys launching missions using the Syria map? I usually just jump into an Instant Action mission, But none exist as of yet? Thanks Greg
  23. I installed the Syria Map to discover that there are no Instant Action Mission options as there is with the other maps in DCS. I do not know hot to use the editor. So, how do I fly the Syria map? Are there Instant Action content coming for the Syria map? Or, are there content I can download and install? Thanks Greg
