  1. Much of what is being said in this topic doesn't appear to be correct. If the AI is waiting on something than why, if you create a mission where it is only you and the carrier, does the cat crew still ignore you when you approach? There is essentially nothing else that they are doing. I am not certain if it is the same with cats 3 and 4, but cat 1 appears to have an issue with how it recognizes a plane approaching. My support of this is that if you try to make a normal approach to cat 1 and they do not recognize you, make a hard left and a full 360 degree circle (definitely not SOP on a carrier) and when you line back up they will then recognize you. In fact, you can make any crazy circuit on the flight deck, come back around and approach cat 1 again and they will recognize you. Additionally, after startup, if you approach cat 2 they will ALWAYS recognize you on the first approach, wether or not there are other aircraft moving on the deck. In fact, in a flight of four, number 2 will always line up obediently behind the blast deflector, never choosing to use cat 1 instead. This is definitely an issue with how the program recognizes that something that wants to hook up to cat 1 is not recognized, maybe its a cone of awareness, maybe a specific pathing that is not being followed, that part I don't know.
  2. Thank you! I appreciate that :) I'm story boarding another attempt :)
  3. Wow! I didn't realize the Lot 20 F-18 had so much more detail! :) You really do miss so much of what is modeled if you just sit in the jet all the time LoL!
  4. Thank you again Jay! I would never take any advice in the wrong way. I totally appreciate it! Again I admit that I was just too lazy at this point to remove the status bar at the bottom LoL! I was SO excited about both Supercarrier and F18 ( I got them at the same time) that I was really skipping a lot of detail steps to get a video put together as quickly as possible :) I'm just as excited about my new video editing software (I've made some birthday videos for friends and put together presentations for various people) and I've come to realize that I really like video editing compilation  I'm going to make another video right now after changing things per your suggestions and see how it turns out. Thank you again!
  5. OMG Thank you for letting me know about the already fixed cam positions on the carrier! I swear I was searching all over for information about them on the net (admittedly I didn't read thru the manual if the info is in there somewhere :) ) I made the video mainly by looking at one of the escort helicopters I placed, which made the view drift constantly (though it was nice for a kind of slow panning shot) but the way it made you turn your head in the WEIRDEST positions to level out the view with the TrackIR was almost comical! LoL! The same was true by using the external cams from a player aircraft parked on the deck. I just tried using the F9 cam to access the main and cat views and realized that the F9 on my track IR was conflicting with same key binding for Supercarrier! (stupid me) It works great now and I'm going to make more and hopefully much better videos in the future. :) Thanks again!
  6. Thanks guys for the kind words! :) Downvotes? Lol! Well I guess it IS Youtube so all kinds come out including those who maybe never heard of DCS, or pro video content creators who think if it isn’t pro quality, it’s junk. I’m excited to hear there are fixed cameras on the deck other than the the very restrictive LSO! I can’t wait to figure out the new cameras and try and make more videos. The detail of the sim is incredible! Much of it is totally unnoticed unless you view it up close from stable external cam views.
  7. I’ve barely had F-18 and Supercarrier for a week and I wanted to practice creating videos to help familiarize myself with my editing software. It is SO hard to get a steady shot with Supercarrier because you have to anchor the view to placed objects and then use very awkward means to “look” or pan in the direction you wish. It definitely adds a component of “Shakycam” but you can’t use that in every shot I think lol! I’m a complete amateur at video editing, but the modules give me a great platform to work with! I know I placed personnel in crazy positions, and my taxiing is all wrong as are my handling of the plane controls, but hey. I shot a two-wire trap flying manually :) How do you like the video?
  8. It would be great to have a free camera system that stays relative to the carrier so that you can have fixed views to use for movie content creation or just simply to observe. Right now it's very difficult to get stable views when you have to affixe them to objects you place on the deck, or with the limited views afforded by the LSO position. Thank you!
  9. Agree with H@rry above. Not that the music is "horrible" it just feels too serene with just a hint of menace. It feels and sounds more like a themesong for a hunterkiller sub than a carrier. I think the music should be majestic and sweeping from the get go. Either that or just use the Harold Faltermeyer Topgun Anthem opening LoL!
  10. The flight model of the gazelle feels more like "arcade mode" to me. Lifting off in the UH-1, you have a tremendous sense of inertia, gravity, momentum... just simply "physics", but in the gazelle, significantly lighter though it may be, it feels as though the air density it 5 times normal and gravity is 1/5th normal. I was hoping it would be twitchy, and difficult to fly, like a very light version of the UH-1, but it is twitchy as in spikey game controllers and a very odd flight model. I am not a helicopter pilot but I do fly large scale RC helicopters, and in many ways the comparitively tiny RC helos I fly are far less abrupt and responsive than the Gazelle flight model (which I find confusing) It's almost as though the "granularity" of control inputs are far too coarse. That is, it feels as though the model is sampling the control positions every 3 seconds. You push the cyclic over a fair amount and wait and then all of a sudden "woosh" the helicopter banks you relax to the center position but the bank continues to get more severe, only to then settle back into level flight seemingly in disconnect with the stick position. I understand that there is a filter of SAS control happening here, but in all other DCS aircraft, SAS is virtually transparent and enhances the feeling of control, not intensify the feeling of disconnection with the controls (i.e. out of phase timing-wise) Does the actual helicopter behave this way? I'ave tried several input curves to try and smooth it out, but the fundamental proble, is not one of smoothness, but of abruptness, as in the controls feel as though they are not working in am analog fashion, but in a digital one, with abrupt "steps" i.e. instead of 1,2,3,4,5,6 degree increments, you have 10,20,30 degree discrete incrememnts with no steps inbetween. I can fly the UH-1 at 50 feet at 90 knots, pull up on the cyclic while decreasing collective, turn into a side skid and reduce forward speed to 0 and gently touch down all without gaining more than 50 feet of altitude so I don't think my smoothness or control skill is the problem. I could be full of crap, but the flight model of the gazelle feels not only arcade, but twitchy arcade. If it was twitchy simulator, I would be immensely happy! I hope there are major overhauls to the FM of this aircraft soon... p.s. They keep talking about how this was tested by real gazelle pilots. Did those pilots also fly and compare the UH-1 and Mi-8 and KA50 sims? Just curious...
