  1. So now that we are getting the OH-58 what we really need is the other half of that equation. The AH-64 . . . after all they were designed to work together.
  2. Thanks for the help Franky. You were right a simple reload of the script did the trick.
  3. Grrr what am I doing wrong? I get the correct planes spawning randomly but they all have the same Livery. I do have all the civilian liverys downloaded and am able to use them manually in the mission editor but I can not get rat to randomly assign them when the plans spawn. Is there something wrong with my code? local B737skins={"Air Algerie", "Air Berlin", "Air France", "airBaltic", "Airzena", "AM", "American_Airlines", "British Airways", "C40s", "Clean", "Disney", "EA", "easyjet", "FINNAIR", "HARIBO", "JA", "Jet2", "kulula", "LH", "Lufthansa BA", "Lufthansa KR", "OLD_BA", "OMAN AIR", "PAN AM", "Polskie Linie Lotnicze LOT", "QANTAS", "RYANAIR", "SouthWest Lone Star", "ThomsonFly", "TNT", "Ukraine Airlines", "UPS"} local B737=RAT:New("RAT_B737") B737:Livery(B737skins) B737:Spawn(5)

    FARPs

I have a real issue with the way FARPS are currently represented in the SIM. Having flown in and out of hundreds of US FARPs I can say that 100% of the looked nothing like they are portrayed in DCS. I'm not sure if this issue has been brought up before but back in the day when the Huey was doing its thing in Southeast Asia a FARP consisted mainly of fuel blivets and gas powered pumps and filters. If we had these modeled there would be a hole aspect to the SIM as you could hide FARPs in the wood-lines with only the fuel points exposed and such. Plus you could run blivet sling loading ops to keep the FARPs stocked with fuel.
  6. I have wondered about that too. Civilian airfields in the US have a White - Green rotating beacon , generally on the highest point on the airfield. Either the ATC tower or the water tower if they have one. Military Airfields have a rotating beacon as well but it's White - White - Green. Edit - corrected spelling rotating Bacon Nom nom nom
  7. When you consider I'm coming from a Celeron processor and a GTX 950 I expect I'll see some improvement.
  8. So it would seem I'm good then. excellent!
  9. Will the following run DCS 2.5 well? 512 SSD + 2 TB HDD storage + 2 TB HDD storage 16 GB memory Windows 10 Pro NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1080 8G 7th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-7700
  10. As the subject says. I upgraded my CPU and when I went to start DCS a message popped up that said a major change in your hardware was detected and now you'll have to reactivate all you'r modules. The only two I can not get to reactivate are Combined arms and BS2. They act as if they reactivate but you can't fly them.
  11. What's up with these helmets? A10C footage but I haven't seen these helmets before, seems to have some extra electronics in it. Good views at 12:20 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXVYQ1_4g6o

    No more P51?

So I had the P51 in DCS world as a freebie when I installed if a while back. But my PC crapped out and I had to re-download and now there's no free P51. What gives?
  13. I am sure he was referring to version 2.0.0.6 of UltraMFCD not DCS world. I too have the same issue of the MFCDs locked to the main screen can't resize and can't move them.
  14. Not quite right. You said it flies ballistically after the rockets stop firing. "Ballistically" implies an arc that's not what happens. The missile continues to fly strait line and the control surfaces still make corrections all the way to the target, even after the rockets stop. The missile has a hell of alot of iniertia.
  15. Yup but in that clip the rockets burn all the way to the target. I don't know what kind of missile that was but the TOW rockets only burn until about 350 meters.
  16. I just did, I used Google translate. It probably says something silly in Russian.
  18. I'm not sure how much simpler I can make that drawing. There's got to be some of those DCS guys who can translate don't you think? Will I get in trouble if I cross post in the thread you mentioned? Oh and here's a great video of how the missile acts after launch. Just the first half of this video, after that they go into the Javelin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7KENtp5keDk
  19. Just a small thing but having actually fired these things it kinda bugs me no end. The view of the missile in flight when viewed through the MGS is completely wrong, makes me bang on my desk wrong every-time I fire one in the sim. Rather then explain it I drew a picture for you folks.
  20. As a former Cavalry Scout and TOW gunner I can speak to this issue. What you just described is what we call a "launch excursion". It can happen for several reasons, snapping a command wire is the most common. The first time I saw it in the sim I cracked up and yelled "Holy sh!t a launch excursion!", I couldn't believe they modeled that. In my opinion however it happens too often in the sim.
  21. Does DCS work with Ubuntu? I am thinking about installing Ubuntu as my OS and want to know if DCS world and DCS A10 will work on it? Well?
  22. The problem with saying I saw this, or I saw that, is that unless you were the one firing the round you have no idea who manufactured the ammunition creating the tracer. Yeah you may have seen an AK firing tracers in Iraq or Afghanistan but who made that ammo? Russian and Chinese ammo may in fact have green tracers, but the ammo being fired in Iraq may have been made there, or in Syria, or in Pakistan. Who knows?
