  1. W00t! Passed the 8th Mission! \o/ It was a blast. The wingie came to the party this time, so after expending all my Vikhrs, the wingie started rippling his off and I headed for rearming. Upon my return the wingie joined me and I spotted the 2nd wave quite late in their approach. Took out the first couple vehicles, then the AA tracks - ordered wingie in again. Panic got the best of me as the defenders started taking some losses. Me being winchester missiles, I broke ROE and screamed over the river for a rocket run. I expended my rockets and managed to take out 3 BMPs, but got struck about at the same time my last rocket left the tube by the SA-8. :( I fought the Ka-50 to over the river and ejected. Luckily I could find some shelter in one of our BMP's, while the last 2 BTR's were taken out by the defenders. My wingman also got taken out by the SA-8. He also eject behind friendly lines. The mission truly was a blast at the end. I do agree however that the Russian ground forces need a boost in skill and 2 extra Ka-50's should make this mission clearable on first attempt.
  2. I am very new to black shark; about a month. I finished deployment, with about a gazillion deaths and started GOW. Due to GOW being such a long campaign I was looking for another, quick, story like campaign and I have to say Georgian Havon, thus far - simply fantastic. I've read through the thread and had some odd experiences as to what others may have had. The first is the scramble mission, where one needs to defend against the Hinds. I got it in 2 attempts: The first I was brutally gunned down just after lift off by the hinds. I was a bit slow with my start up. The second attempt - I didn't fire a shot. As I took off, some AAA splashed the last 3 hinds in a space of about 3-5 seconds. I have to admit, I was mildly disappointed. I was looking forward to dueling them. :) At least it's great to know those ZU-23 crews were on the ball. Another odd one was the mission to capture the airbase. I was dreading taking on the SA-8's. I knew it would out range me and the flight in was scary. Then the funniest thing happened, as I approached the hill at the IP: About 2 clicks out, I saw a missile trail, heading in the wrong direction, followed closely by a strike and black smoke - one of the Mi-28's got splashed. I was quite angry at the loss of a virtual comrade, in the much needed Mi-28's, and was sure to avenge him! As I started my climb up the hill, I kept an eye on the area the Osa was sitting, suddenly an explosion, followed by a billow of smoke. I thought nothing of it at first. The Mi-28's did screw up and have probably been slaughtered. However, about 60 seconds later, I receive the radio call congratulating me on a job well done with the SEAD and the Mi-8's are inbound - without me firing a shot, in fact, my master arm was still safe... o.O I pulled hard on the collective to peek over the hill and lo and behold - all the AA assets were dead. 3 of the Mi-28's were buzzing the airbase having a turkey shoot. I helped in the cleanup, waited for the Spetznaz and touched down next to a UH-1. The debriefing showed that 10-15 secs after the unlucky Mi-28 went in, the second Osa and the ZSU's each ate an AT-6, fired by the Mi-28's. I am currently on mission 8 and I have had 4 attempts thus far. I find my main difficulty is getting the wingman to engage the enemy forces. Each command to attack is swiftly followed by "Unable", regardless if it is to engage all ground movers, my target or data linked targets. I am able to clear out the first wave with missiles, and do some mopping with rockets and cannon, but cannot make it back in time with more ammo to continue my engagement. I feel, if I can get the wingie to start engaging the enemy while I run back for ammo, it may give me the time I need to successfully defend the bridge. Is there possibly some advice some may offer that I am missing to get my wingman to be more of a "Yes" man, than not? I am using version 1.0.2.
  3. - Press TGT NAV on PVI-800 - Press desired TGT NAV point number, e.g. 1 - Uncage Shkval Result: Shkval slews to selected TGT point. Thus, if given coords and if program them into the PVI-800 as TGT NAV points, you can slew the Shkval to any coordinate. :)
