Heatblur Development Update - Thunder & Cat
umkhunto replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Are the people in the last 3 pages in this thread for real? You don't actually deserve an up to the minute update, what the devs, whether it's a 3rd party or ED themselves are working on. It's nice that they do give us updates, but personally I'd rather leave to their jobs. Unbelievable. -
[Collections] What you want to be able to bind in keyboard/device
umkhunto replied to uboats's topic in JF-17 Thunder
3 position bindable switches. E.g: Boat switch on warthog throttle: - If forward ICPT mode, else NAV - If back A2G, else NAV EAC and RDR ALTM switches: - If on A/G1, else A/G2 - If on A/A, else A/G Etc. The Hornet, Viper, Tomcat, Warthog and Mirage have 3 position expressions bindable, precisely for input devices such as this and for sim pit builders. Would help a bunch. -
Have to give some credit to a friend messing around with the bindings. You can bind antenna elevation to keys. It's the nomenclature that has everyone confused. The binding is called Sensor Up and and Sensor down. Default bindings are: R Shift+ ; and R Shift Period.
-
Yea, had to sacrifice my zoom axis for the antenna elevation. I feel for people that don't have a spare axis, they've no way to change the antenna elevation.
-
Could not agree more.
-
What would be great is binding explicitly to tell Jester lock up enemy contact, just like there is a binding for him to unlock a contact. I was quite surprised there wasn't one, tbh.
-
This seems like a low prio issue though. Is the salt from people who tend to hug their k/d?

You're never going to outmaneuver the Phoenix in your little flanker, fixed or not. Go practice some missile evasion.

Please fix the wind information between the ME and Briefing pages. At the moment, the wind in the brief will be opposite of what the actual wind is. Wind in the briefing will show where the wind is blowing TO (incorrect) as opposed to where the wind is blowing FROM. (Correct)

I've had some problems with this mission, results in it not advancing. In my case the bombers do bomb their targets, however they arrive over Vladikavkaz and just orbit forever. I orbited along with them and the other fighters for about 15mins after the attack, then decided to RTB. Landed with all 4 my wingmen. You are not allowed to advance, sadly. I did not have anymore comms with the bombers or commander other than joining up again and being told to head to Vladikavkaz. The mission ran as follows: I switched radios on, hit space and got the mission brief. I then switched to channel 2, briefed the flight, then to 3 to start taxing. After take off, I hit space to tell the flight I'm switching back to one. I then headed to the bombers, met up with them and hit space to let confirm I was holding hands. On the way to the target, I saw 4 bogies, intercepted them, and shot them down, they were seperatist Farmers. They either didn't react to my presence, or I managed to sneak up on them. After shooting them down, I went gate to catch up with the bombers. They dropped their bombs, and one of the flights called that they were formed up. The mission commander then called to head north to Vladikavkaz. When over Vladikavkaz, all the flights just started orbiting with no radio calls or further prompts. Orbited for 15ish mins, decided to RTB and hope the mission completes. It didn't. If you want I can give you the tacview, and you can see where I missed something. The track was unfortunately unreliable. :(

TMS left is correct for IFF interrogate, the comms button handles DL stuff.

Looks great. TWS auto and Jester LANTIRN will be awesome. Is any work being done on NAVGRID? -
[ALREADY REPORTED] SAM mode very sluggish, STT mode smooth!?
umkhunto replied to AleCisla's topic in Bugs and Problems
It should be soft lock, it isn't at the moment. I bet it's something that will get fixed. Launching a missile in STT, also does not alert the target of the launch, which is also something that needs to be sorted out. -
[ALREADY REPORTED] SAM mode very sluggish, STT mode smooth!?
umkhunto replied to AleCisla's topic in Bugs and Problems
It's definitely not supposed to be like that, not even in the Hornet. It's something they need to fix in both. -

umkhunto replied to AleCisla's topic in Bugs and Problems
The guy being locked in SAM will see an STT lock on their RWR, as tested last night. However, if you launch in SAM mode, they don't get a launch warning. -
correct as-is Has the JHMCS blanking gap been fixed?
umkhunto replied to Manuel_108's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
It's much better than it was. I don't have it overlapping the hud anymore, at least for me. -
Wait... can amraam be used in SAM mode with no STT?
umkhunto replied to falcon_120's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
*waves hand* Nails schmails. You understood what was meant. STT lock tone is STT lock tone. -

umkhunto replied to falcon_120's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Yes. Tested it last night. When bugging someone in SAM, they do get STT nails. However, they do not get a launch warning, just the STT tone from the F-16, followed by the nails of the missile when it goes active. So someone will know you're about to launch, they just won't know when you've launched. -
That is some awesome bantz there. o7

Is the mistral tone and RWR tones still non functional?

Here we are looking for simple compromises, and thinking up ridiculous reasons why these two modules, that were sold with the promise of multicrew which never happened, and another 3rd party has gone and show every single one of the excuses fed to us was utter nonsense. After what what we have in the Tomcat, there is no more excuse for other devs to not give multicrew, in the modules they promised.

Did some further testing using the ARAK training mission. Happens with both salvo and single. Tested with and without wake turbulence. Same results. https://streamable.com/p0nph https://streamable.com/nl2s1

Same exact thing happened to me and my wingman, in the same flight, on latest open beta. https://streamable.com/e69rx
