Sad news, really, I still thought that Tomcats (especially F14D with powerful AN/APG71)could do soem good service, for ex. what if you need to take out enemy AWASC orbiting deep in hostile territory, guarding with CAPs and S300s....I know USAF has a few F22 but a few Phoenix missiles would be better solution in teh case. F14D frames are only 10-15yrs. old and I dont understant while is such potent AC retired in its midlife...

..and missile effectiveness slider is set WHERE? If set to LOW, missiles selfdestruct shortly after launch.

IIt would be big advatage over older AIM7M because launching platform could lock on target only at therminal phase thus enemy aircrew would get as little warning as form AIM120....

I'm really sad about this. Mighty Tomcat was some sort of "freedom fetish" in former East Block and form ex. movie "Final Countdown" was even banned from distribution in my country, rumours said it was due to featuring Tomcat... ..but I thought that F14 was to stay in service till 2010 (when will be enough FA18F with AGP79 in service)?

But as soon as it uses it's radar, and I suppose it has to, it's cover is mostly gone. AN/APG77 is the most advaced LPI (low probability of intercept) rdr currently used in any AC (maybe except of B2 Spirit)

After reading all the pages I believe taht "study" sim should attempt "conservative" aproach to to modelling system that are classified to any extend,that is: if there is not enough infromatin about functionality of teh systems modelled dont make any assumption that are not backup by hard facts...

So F18 manuals are classified? And Janes had exclusive accecces to them? F15C, A10, Su27. MIG29SMT manuals are not classified? None of the ED team si able to buy a copy of JF18? Please stop that BS!

300x300 is a bare minimum to include some WP (East Germany) territory in gameply, because what would happen if the initial tank assault will be reverted to east? End of map, end of game?

The Fulda gap scenarion looks great, but personally I would prefer a little larger area let's say 300x300km, that's 90000 km^2, still doable (less then map in LOMAC). It would enable to use WP forces too, for ex. Mig29vsF16A (with only Winders a lot of fun), Su25vsA10, Mi24vsAH64A). I believe that such sim would sell like a hot buns and eveyone would be satisfied (coop, online wars etc)
