  1. …and I am trying to find exactly where I did read that and can’t find exactly what page… annoying… It might be elsewhere then, I saw places on the web that state what I did say but I don’t dare quote them as a reliable source.
  2. apache can lynx can But I am trying to find mi24 aerobatics featuring barrel rolls and nobody does that apparently. So it’s probably not the safest helicopter to do that with… but it supposedly can.
  3. Mil mi24 hind gunship by Alexander Mladenov. That’s where I did read this. It definitely can do barrel rolls. I have no idea if it is fully loaded or not, I would tend to think that it would not be such a great idea to do barrel roll fully loaded and that as a combat manoeuvre it’s useless. Nonetheless at the beginning of its deployment in afghanistan pilots did show to Mil that their helicopter could do this and apparently the designers didn’t think it was posdible.
  4. I don’t know about the mi8 but the mi24 can barrel roll in real life. Apparently when pilots showed this to the designers and engineers they did not know it was even possible.
  5. A 30mm cannon can’t do much to an abrams. It could probably take off a track. Then that’s about it. I can kill an abrams with the ka50’s gun in dcs, which is the same as a bmp2. In reality this is more or less impossible. You could take out the vision blocks too but the crew would replace them. Shoot out road wheels? Maybe?
  6. From what I see bradley should be able to resist 30mm hist as well. Don’t know about stryker but I would not be surprised if that were the case. M113 definitely not.
  7. Well that gun can’t do much to modern western mbts like the m1 or leo2 even from the top. Abrahms would not have much to fear from that. It would still be trouble for an m60 or a leo1 however.
  8. Right, with a modifier it would work. Don't take this personnally, you can do what you want, I was just asking and suggesting.
  9. Hmmm what puzzles me is despite the overall undeniable superiority of a mouse as a flight controler (...). How will you be able to click the cockpit or look around now (without TIR)? I would rather modify the stick if it's too stiff for you. As for the wrist pain I got this because of work a while back, don't fool around with this. A mouse is also a good way to screw your tendons. If you get this often, and more importantly, if it doesn't stops, consult a doctor and get an anti-inflamation prescription. Also take breaks and stop playing for a while if it persists. If you NEED to continue using the computer, ice and cold water along with frequent breaks do wonders. If you have a bad work/play environment you can seriously screw up your back and hands. If you ignore the pain you can end up under the scalpel or 6 months (or more) without being able to use your hands. Now you know and knowing is half the battle... GIJOE!
  10. Ok, this is stupid... but it DID fix my problems. I don't get it but I won't complain.
  11. I use flight director for rocket runs, landing and pure flying, aside of that I disable it since it overrides everything automated such as auto hover, route mode and auto turn. Happy to know I am not the only one using this, I find the auto pilot somewhat annoying sometimes. About auto hover, it works ok, however you must bear this in mind: 1) With flight director mode, auto hover doesn't work, period. 2) Auto hover tries to keep over a point on the ground, when engaged the trim button just resets the point to the one currently under the chopper. 3) MOST IMPORTANTLY: IF the INU or RADAR ALTIMETER fails for WHATEVER REASON, all auto pilot functions will turn off in auto hover. The reasons for such failures may be electric shortage. IF your throttle is not set to AUTO the turbine won't provide enough electricity to the systems and some functions will fail, the easy way to tell if that's the case, the speed meter on the HUD will lack some information, such as the tick for overspeed and the SPEED indicated with a number above the bar. Second if the rpm is too low, the generator will not provide enough electricity. If the chopper is nose up (like when slowing down) and you engage the auto hover you may get an upleasant surprise. 4) If you engage auto hover below 4 meters or try to land with it, you will most certainly get flowers on your coffin as it will shut down auto pilot channels. If you turn on manual mode for the targeting computer (lower center panel, left swicth) you can fire from very far away, I have been able to destroy something not moving from 12 KMs if I remember well but most of the time you will miss.
  12. Yeah, I don't get why it does that on my machine, what is challenged?
  13. Hi there. Got BS2, great. Except that like A10c it stutters at low altitude. I get small freezes frequently like each 10 seconds or something like that. The problem is that in the KA50 you stick to the treetops, so it means a world of never ending stutters. It stutters on low and high settings. It stutters with high framerates. It seems to be somewhat related to the dynamic loading of the meshes in low altitude of LODs or something like that since it doesn't stutter when you are flying high. Doesn't seem to be related to the cpu, it is 33% busy at all times. So anybody here got rid of this in A10? Anybody got the same problem in BS2? Any patch coming to address this? Basically I want to know the cause of this. BS1 runs fine, no problem at all. Just a foreword, I saw the thread about the stuttering in a10 on the lockon forum... I did try some things suggested over there but it did not fix anything. I am NOT going to turn off paging or hyperthreading for one game, it is DUMB. I am not also going to change the configuration of my SSD drive with data written on it, this is downright dangerous. My machine is an I7 with windows 7 64 bits 8gigs ram, SSD drive, some Nvidia video card dual GPU. That thing is one year old and runs everything maxed and is optimized for heavy duty 3d since it's related to my job. Anyway tell me what you think.
  14. The ai is pretty dumb right now, they go fly over the target zones when sent to attack a target and get killed pretty fast. For instance I send a datalink to my wingman, I tell him to go attack the datalink target (with or without ingress point), and he goes fly over it WITHOUT engaging. When he actually survives he rejoins. When I tell him vague orders such as attack movers, he seems to work more decently... when he can spot anything. This is my MAIN gripe.
  15. About those MBT in blackshark... You can blow them up with your 30mm API. It will eat your ammo but eventually they catch fire. Tried it with M1A2 and it works. YES it is dangerous, YES it is dumb, YES it is not recommended but YES it works. Noticed that rear missile hits result more often in kills. On abrahms the top of the turret seems very prone to catching fire. But yeah, they're tough nuts.
