  1. Indiafoxtecho just released an (interesting) official statement for the DCS F-35 modul: NOTE ON DCS:F-35 - WE ARE NOT INVOLVED! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ After the surprise announcement of the DCS:F-35 we have received several messages asking if we were involved in the development. The answer is NO: WE ARE NOT INVOLVED IN THIS PROJECT, although years ago we had, of course, discussed to port our MSFS F-35 to DCS. Frankly, to make this a realistic F-35 simulation, it is totally understandable that ED decided to develop this on their own as "first party" official module, as there are a number of changes/improvements to the simulation core needed to make it work. However, we have seen a lot of misinformed discussion about the potential "realism" that ED can achieve, as they declared it to be a "full fidelity" module and we'd like to clarify that we believe they can do an EXCELLENT job in terms of realism: contrary to popular belief, much of the required information on the F-35 air vehicle is publicly available (e.g. academic papers) and there are dozens of videos of cockpit simulators, showing the avionics and the pilot interface in great detail. Moreover, a lot of the official aircraft documentation is APPROVED FOR PUBLIC RELEASE or UNCLASSIFIED (although some of the unclassfied documents, like pages of the flight manual, are actually parts of RESTRICTED documents) and can be easily found online. Long story short, the F-35 is actually better documented than most people think - and it IS better documented than the F-22, and even (to a much lesser extent) than the Eurofighter. There are, however, some critical areas in the development, such as the actual performance of the radar and the sensors (that is CLASSIFIED) and the actual radar cross section (which can be, to some extent, simulated with commercially available tools such as HF-SS or CST). So, yes, there will be areas in which ED will have to guesstimate some things - so il will not be (OBVIOUSLY) 100% REAL. But (spoiler) NO SIMULATION IS 100% REAL. Can it break the game balance? Definitely YES. But that is what the F-35 can do in real life too.
Long story short, the F-35 is actually better documented than most people think - and it IS better documented than the F-22, and even (to a much lesser extent) than the Eurofighter.
  4. The F-35 is a big surprise I would not have expected. For me it looks like ED changed their mind to make new modules even they don‘t have the public data they originally requested. As the F-35 is planned to be released in 2026, work on this modul must have been started some time ago. My guess, ED got a new third party and I wouldn‘t be surprised if it‘s IndiaFoxtEcho, which released a great model of the F-35 for another big Flight Sim (but this only my guess). New explosion (and blast) effects looks great, as well as new night illumination. Seems Vulcan isn‘t that far away All in all a great video and excellent work from all the staff involved, especially from GA The future of DCS looks bright and very promising. The new Germany map looks astonished and I am wondering who is making this map Looking forward to a very comprehensive 2025 and beyond newsletter, maybe already today. I am also wondering what we can expect of further developement of DCS core and existing DCS modules as the F-16 (Sniper Pod, DTC ect) and my favourite modul F/A-18 as it reached end of early access last year.
  5. Omg, what a great video from GA Now I know why I was so hyped as never before. Seems we get so many cool new stuff. Will have to watch the video again and again Never thought we will get the F-35, what a big surprise. As this fighter is higly classified, I am really wondering what type of model we get. Maybe more or less the same as already exist for the other big simulator. We will see. As I already said in another post, the future looks bright and just awesome!
  6. I hope we get another very comprehensive 2025 and beyond newsetter tomorrow
  7. I am wondering why they didn‘t releae the video with a countdown as they made it before with some other videos
  8. There is a great Facebook Group from Winwing, please check this link: https://www.facebook.com/share/g/161AC5sGEd/?mibextid=wwXIfr
  9. Iirc with the NTTR map ED introduced a new map technology and the map looked outstanding at the time it was released. I love this map, especially because of the Nellis AFB, Nevada and all the Red Flag stuff. I only wish it will be updated as it looks a little bit outdated. Maybe we will see a Nevada map 2.0 still this year.
  10. Wags said in an interview that they have found a way to develop future maps much faster. I meant he said in about 1 1/2 years. What worries me are the different maps technologies we have in DCS. The NTTR is in a much older state than the newer maps, same for the Caucasus map. I really hope that ED will update its older maps, even it will cost some bucks.
  11. Thanks a lot for your reply. Glad to hear you are happy with your Logitech headset. What about the sound quality in general and hearing all the radio comms? Had the chance to put it over my ears in a local store and yes it seems to be very comfortable. I like logitech products and seems this headset wouldn‘t be a bad choice
  12. Just found this thread and want to reopen it. As I am also looking for a new headset, my choice will be between the Logitech G Pro X (2) Wireless or the Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless. What are your thougts?
  13. I really hope we will see a refurbished and extended NTTR map. Even it will cost some bucks it will be the update worth. When the map was released it was a new standard in map technology but now it is very outdated!
  14. With the much improved and enhanced deck crew of the Supercarrier I am sure we soon will see further animations like troop transports, animated troops and ground crew on airfields. The future looks bright and I am really looking forward to the 2025 and beyond video!
  15. Am 16. Januar erscheint der “2025 and beyond Video“.
  16. It is very disappointing that there is not even a post in the mini updates thread nor in a newsletter! I was also very surprised that there was no official information by ED!
  17. Thanks a lot and nice to see we get some official news and updates on the DCS Forum. Looks great!
  18. Refurbishing the current maps to the new technology would be a nice option instead of releasing new maps Hopefully something to consider in the near future
  19. I understand that some people are disapointed that the new Iraq map sometimes looks flat and that the animation of the deck crew could be more natural. Please don‘t forget that both are early access and still havy much in development. The deck crew is a big step in the right direction and took many men hours of work and development. The future looks bright and cool stuff is comming ahead!
  20. My hopes for the video: - New and much improved ATC radio - New weather effects we still haven‘t seen - Ground crew for airfields (as the Carrier Deck Crew for taxiing finally arrived) - New map (maybe Balkan) And a surprise we didn‘t expect :)
