Kurz OT: Beim Sprung zur F-35 wird der Unterschied noch deutlicher. Hatte mal das Vergnügen, in einem abgespeckten F-35 Simulator zu fliegen, unter Aufsicht eines US-Veteranen, der alle 3 Versionen der F-35 geflogen hat und zum Team der Testpiloten gehört. Die F-35 fliegt faktisch von alleine, die Aufgaben des Piloten ändern sich vom “Fliegen des Flugzeugs“ hin zu “Managen des Geschehens“. Sorry, nun wieder zurück zum Eurofighter. Ich bin sehr gespannt auf dieses Modul, da es das wohl bis anhin modernste Flugzeug in DCS sein wird.

It‘s more likely for tomorrow, as normally they release these 20xx and beyond videos on a Friday. I expect the video for tomorrow or 12th of January. Really looking forward to the 2024 and beyond video.

This is a fair point and ED is well aware to avoid fps goes down a lot. They are working hard on the core of DCS and DCS 2.9 was a big step in the right direction. With the implementation of multicore and Vulkan (maybe comming with DCS 3.0?), I am sure there is a good chance enjoying the dynamic campaign with a good and solid fps [emoji6][emoji1303]

Die F-4 Phantom ist zweifelsfrei von der Komplexität ein nicht zu unterschätzendes Flugzeug und ich habe meine grösste Hochachtung von allen Entwicklern, die uns dieses legendäre Flugzeug bald in voller Pracht zur Verfügung stellen. Ich bin mir aber sicher, dass es der Entwicklung des Eurofighters zugute kommt, dass mit der Phantom viel an Erfahrung gewonnen wird. War es bei ED nicht auch so, dass die mit der Hornet sehr viel Knowhow gewonnen haben, ohne dieses der Apache nicht möglich gewesen wäre. Zumindest meinte ich, Wags hat mal etwas in diese Richtung gesagt. Wie QuiGon schon erwähnt hat, dass Piloten, welche den Eurofighter geflogen haben, ebenfalls mit von der Partie sind, kommt noch oben drauf. Der Eurofighter wird das wohl modernste Modul in DCS (denke auch in Sachen Radar) und da dürfen wir uns sehr darauf freuen.

In diesem Interview mit Nick Grey, dem CEO von Eagle Dynamics, wird auch das Thema Eurofighter angesprochen (bei Minute 24:45). Leider wurde die Entwicklung entschleunigt, aber ich bin mir sicher, der Eurofighter wird das Warten mehr als wert sein:

Winwing feiert gerade sein 10-Jähriges Jubiläum und dafür gibt es teils satte Rabatte. Aktuell gibt es das MIP der F/A-18 23% und das PTO ist 10% günstiger. Die Aktion scheint es aber nur im EU-Store zu geben. Auch haben sie aktuell wieder genügend Exemplare an Lager [emoji6][emoji1303]

Hat bei mir auch nicht geklappt am 19.11. Habs dann gestern via Tablet versucht und siehe da, es hat geklappt. Das MIP der F/A-18 ist um ganze 23% günstiger, das neue PTO 10%. Hab heute zugeschlagen und beides gekauft. Hab etwas gepokert und gehofft, dass es ev. eine Black Friday Aktion gibt [emoji6]

Ich bin sehr gespannt, was wir in Sachen EW (Electronic Warfare) erwarten können/dürfen. Es gab ja schon mal in einem Newsletter diesbezüglich eine Vorankündigung, wenn auch noch sehr wage.

Iirc, as of today they want to procure 144 F-15EX (compared with the 1700 F-35). But yes, I am also glad to see that the Strike Eagle remains as a useful platform

I assume improvements in the ATC will be part of DCS 3.0I am wondering , as we get a new 3D model of the S-3B, if there will also be improvements of new AAR physics with DCS 2.9 or if this will be part of 3.0

They haven‘t posted all new features and improvements comming with DCS 2.9. Let‘s wait and see. I assume there will be improvement of weather and clouds

DCS 2.9 sounds like Christmas and Birthday [emoji16][emoji2956][emoji1303] Really looking forward to this fantastic Update. Since many features will already be released with version 2.9, I can‘t imagine what all will come with version 3.0

Quick side question: What exactly is DLSS or what will be the benefit in DCS? Asking for a friend [emoji6]

There wasn‘t more information about improved new hose physics for longer time. I assume this will be part of DCS 3.0 but I also hope it will be included in 2.9

As the next update will be DCS 2.9, it will be the waiting worth [emoji1303]

Happy Birthday DCS and thank you ED for these wonderful and very exciting 15 years. It‘s stunning and incredible how development of a combat simulator changed and what is now possible. A dream comes true. I am glad to hear that the Core of DCS is more in focus. There are some features (just to note a few as ATC, Vulkan, Ground Crew, improved fusing settings) I am really looking for. Can‘t wait to see what we can expect from DCS 2.9 and 3.0.

I assume Heatblur is now focussed on the F-4E Phantom and after they push the Eurofighter
