JAS 39C Gripen Community Mod
ChrisIhao replied to whisky.actual's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
I basically previously thought of it as a must to use VR, but changed my priorities. To me, having 3 physical mfds with displays feels awesome. Like having the actual aircraft computers in my pit.- 397 replies

Virpil Help Tutorial for RED COVER 3 Way Switch
ChrisIhao replied to DishDoggie's topic in VIRPIL Controls
Thanks mate, -
Hi ppl. Like the title indicates, I'd like to get some feedback on two different kind of rudder pedal dampers. Mostly, how a steering damper mod works in practice. In my case I have the Virpil Ace collection pedals. I purchased the mod described in this thread: This mod works by installing a curved bracket and mounting a screw that you can tighten. There are vinyl plates between the screw and bracket to make the sliding motion smoother. Shortly after receiving and mounting the mod, Virpil released their own damper like described here: https://virpil-controls.eu/vpc-rudder-pedals-damper-upgrade-kit.html. This is a hydraulic steering damper. I'm wondering how such a damper actually feels when it comes to resistance, centering etc. The mod I installed already works quite well. However, if I tighten the screw to make the pedals stay in place while using a light spring, there is quite a bit of friction, and it doesn't properly center until I untighten a bit. How does a steering damper work in this sense? When using it to keep the rudders in place for heli simming, does it return to proper center if using a light spring. What does tightening the screw on the damper actually do? Will there be a lot of friction, or will the damper move smoothly? Also, do you think Virpils solution ensures symmetry between the axes, based on experience from similar systems? Thing is, I already have an order in with Virpil at the moment, so if I'm going to get the Virpil damper, I should do it now to save some transportation costs. To be honest, I'm tempted to add it no matter, and to compare the two options myself. However, buying one costs 50 euros, which is a bit much if the solution I already have turns out to be better.

Cyclic Force Trim Mod for Virpil VPC MongoosT-50CM2 Base
ChrisIhao replied to CrashMeTwice's topic in VIRPIL Controls
Excellent craftsmanship. Looks so clean and professional. Wish I had the equipment, knowledge and time to do something like that. I bet you'll have the best cyclic stick in the world once you're done. Oh, when does mass production start?- 35 replies

Hi K-51. You probably already read my pm, but I'll post here as well just to publicly show that another guy wants to buy your nice Virpil damper solution. Cheers!

Wow. You even left a strips in there for attaching the cables beside the second outtake. The slot was actually quite hidden from the outside. Love it. Much more practical for me.

Ok. Excellent! Didn't want to mess around with it before knowing. One more thing I wondered about while playing Dirt Rally 2.0 last night, is if the Jetpad is considered to be closer to the Gametrix Jetseat, not the Jetseat Race edition, in the options of the Wheels software? Guess there's not a big difference anyways, but it would be nice to know

I also would like to thank you guys for this amazing experience. I got the wheels software as well, as I like playing Dirt Rally and Assetto Corsa once in a while. Haven't been able to test Dirt Rally, but Corsa feels great after some tweaking (I prefer not using the engine rev feedback, as it seems to cancel out the other effects). Oh, and flying my f-18 feels so different with this kit. First time I fired the cannon. Wooow. Thanks for the super quick delivery. With the deadline in May, I didn't really expect to get it more than two months ahead of this. Thumbs up! Oh, lastly. Is it very difficult to change the side which the cables exit the pad? It would make my world so much easier, due to my room layout. I guess flipping the pad won't be a good alternative. :)

Isn't it just easier to extend the power chord? :) Also, my seat is on the way! Long before the theoretical deadline of late May. Yay! Can't wait.

TM Cougar & CH magnetoresistive/ hall sensor kits
ChrisIhao replied to rel4y's topic in Thrustmaster
Ok. Was waiting for a reply myself. I'll check in now and then to see if things have changed. Or, if I could bother you, I'd appreciate you notifying me rel4y. I'd also love to get some feedback on what I asked about in the mail, whenever you have the time. Won't post the address here obviously, but my first name and surname starts with CH ;) -
Ok, cool. Actually looks much more like jet seats. Aaaaaaaand ORDERED! Probably quite expensive once Norwegian customs are done with rhe order, but what the heck. Probably more than worth it. Will be AWESOME with VR. :pilotfly:

Hey guys. Whats the difference between this one: https://andres.shop/jetseat/11-jetseat-kw-908.html and this one: https://andres.shop/12-jetseat First one sure looks more fancypancy.

TM Cougar & CH magnetoresistive/ hall sensor kits
ChrisIhao replied to rel4y's topic in Thrustmaster
Also very excited about this solution! Considered going the path of swapping to VKB or Virpil, but to be honest I think keeping my CH's is a much better solution. Looking forward to your reply rel4y. Also; think I need to swap my springs soon. Anyone know of a good place to order, which also deliver internationally. And I'd LOVE to swap out that super imprecise mini joystick on the CH throttle... Edit: Lol. Just checked, and I originally purchased the CH gear back in 2006. Imagine, how many 14 year old products work good, and look new, after this long? Basically nothing!
