  1. Check this page: http://lockonforum.de/index.php?threads/flyable-fc3-flieger-mit-3d-f-15c-cockpit.6667/ Its in German, but with a little Google translate it makes sense :)
  2. Correct me if I am wrong, but this is just the NATO mod, making the stock F-16 flying. Nice though, gives you the change of actually flying the Viper (with SU25 cockpit if I remember, since Viper's do not have any mirrors.).
  3. Dont know where it came from, but look for the NATO mod. It has the F-16 flyable, among others. The MLU F16 is not there, you will need to add that manually. Its not that hard, even I managed that :) Edit: Then again, this is easier:
  4. Trial and error, or use the modelviewer. It will show you what files are loaded. However, the modelviewer is not too user friendly :( Below is the LUA I use for the dutch F-16A MLU: livery = { {"texture f-16-okras-r3.bmp f2 g0", 0, "323sqn.dds" , false}, {"texture f-16-okras-l1.bmp f2 g0", 0, "f-16rnlaf.dds" , false}, } name = "323rd Diana squadron" countries = { "NETH", } The *.bmp files are the default textures, as found in WorldTexturesBMP1 and WorldTexturesBMP2. The f2 g0 I have no idea, I just use them. The next 0 dito. The *.dds files are my own skins, adjusted and edited to make the Dutch F-16. The FALSE means that DDS will look for the DDS textures inside the liveries folder. When using TRUE it will look in the DCS World\Bazar\World\textures folder. Better to keep that folder stock, and place custom skins inside your Liveries folder. I dont know for sure, but I guess the texture f-16-okras-l1.bmp/texture f-16-okras-l2.bmp and the texture f-16-okras-r1.bmp/texture f-16-okras-r2.bmp are the US textures. If you need more examples, go to the user files section of the DCS site, and download Blackshark's F-16 skins. Check the LUA files, and it will be more clear :)
  5. Correct, for the F16 you need the DCS World\Bazar\World\textures folders. Look in WorldTexturesBMP1 and WorldTexturesBMP2, thats where the F16 DDS files are. DCS World\Bazar\Liveries\ stores the LUA file, with info to what country the unit is assigned to, what sqn, custom skins, etc. Btw, if you want to use custom skins, it might be handy store them in this location. See example below. That is my F16 MLU liveries folder. You see I added some Dutch squads. This is what is inside. The 2 DDS files replace the default skins, as instructed within the LUA file. Hope it makes more sense now.
  6. Wow. Both X-stounds and Octuplefire, those are great cinematic-like shots!
  7. No succes trying to figure it out myself :( I must have looked in any file in DCS by now. The strange thing is, that the Belgium version does have the extended tail. Is this all embedded in the .edm file, and can this not be edited at all? The liveries on the other hand work. Took some time to understand the logic, but that was where the modelviewer pointed me in the right direction. Any help is much appreciated.
  8. I am actually curious as well. The description.lua of either F-16 is rather empty, it so unclear how DCS calls the skins ... EDIT30-04-2014: Check the F16a MLU folder, and look into the CMD liveries. In the description.lua is the clue you are looking for. The original: {"texture f-16-okras-r3.bmp f2 g0", 0, "R3" , false}, So, a edit might look like this: {"texture f-16-okras-r3.bmp f2 g0", 0, "306sqn.dds" , false}, Do use the .bmp in the first part, it will not work otherwise. Do use the .dds in the last part, again it wont work otherwise. False means texture is within the liveries folder. Hope this helps. I do advise to start a little reading, starting here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=116901 A long read, but worth it, even if you are 'just' into making skins.
  9. Thx for the help! However, I am now a little confused. There are 2 models, the F-16.edm and the F-16A.edm. Am I right when I assume that the last F-16.edm is the F-16C? That model will not load the liveries, the F-16A model will. Arg 70 is indeed also loading the extended tail, thx for pointing me in the right direction. Now for where to activate this arg? I am guessing in the description.lua? Or is this just called for liveries? It's all very new to me. An other place could be \Database\planes? But even so, how do I add this arg to show the extended tail? Sorry to bother you wit such a little issue, but it is rather confusing all together, even after reading several topics.
  10. I was playing with the modelviewer, when I found out the the tail model for the Dutch and Belgium F-16's already exists? The Dutch F-16 use a little different tail section, for storage of the chute. Arg 27 seem to be able to display that aft section of the tail, but I cannot see it happening in the game. I am so new into this, I have no idea where to search for it, let alone where to edit the MLU config to enable that piece of the tail. Is it actually possible? It shows up at arg27 0.106. Is there anybody who could help me out with this. I like the game, and the Viper for me is a great and special plane to fly with. I use the Iberian mod for enabling the Viper to be flown. Thanks in advance for your time. EDIT: Found out the 27 is the country code for ... the Netherlands. Makes sense. However, the extended tail is not showing up in the game. The search continues.
  11. It is because of these kind of remarks from people like you that people like Iberian are not releasing tons of mods ... It is so sad. I am very happy with the mod, was waiting for a flyable MLU for a long time now. It would be perfect with reworked animated nozzle and the extended tail, but now I am nitpickin :) If I had 3D-model experience I would gladly make that happen ...
  12. Thx Iberian, love flying the Vipers!! Great job.
  13. Wow! Amazing works. Not my type of plane, but this is one beauty! This is a very nice add to DCSW. Keep up the good work, it would be a loss if you aren't allowed your own private place here.
  14. @HJ: Sorry, I misinterpreted your remarks! Seems I jumped to conclusions too fast. As to start from scratch, sometimes it just makes things easier, nothing to hold you back.
  15. And your point being ...? Appreciate that people invest time in making things better. Your remark makes it sounds like: So what, who cares. And is complete OT. Keep them coming, it's starting to look like the Netherlands now. Which, in this case, is a good thing :)
