  1. Yes please, I would also love to have DCS switch active runway in accordance with what is selected as the approach in LotATC. It would add so much to Multiplayer! Having full control over the lights would be the cherry on top!
  2. Yes please. This is required for quite a few scenarios.
  3. Is there a way to script the loss of GPS mid mission to simulate jamming? Would be interesting to have it either as a timed event where it just becomes unavailable for everybody on the map or it being unavailable for certain aircraft or inside a particular area.
  4. Same thing here with my 12900K on Win10. ProcessLasso is basically mandatory to have any hope of a smooth experience.
  5. Yes, big point being that GFE is the default to have installed with ShadowPlay for any Nvidia user who uses default settings as recommended by the GPU manufacturer, which cannot be said for anything else on that list (except maybe Windows Game Bar). But whatever.
  6. I agree, but how many people just click through the default installation of the nvidia drivers? I bet that number is >90% of its userbase. And defaults do install Geforce Experience AND enable ShadowPlay, Ansel and whatnot. Most people will never know because they never look into it and just think that whatever performance they get is what they should be having. And since those numbers will very much influence the feedback you'll get from the users dabbling into the MT build of DCS, I think it would be worthwile to bring this to the attention of the DCS community. What I mentioned was exactly what happened to both my friends who used the MT build and had massive gains just by getting rid of GFE. And there is a potential ton of similar cases out there. You and me never use additional tools that aren't needed it seems, but that doesn't mean that the majority of people out there abides by these rules when it comes to their own gaming rigs. Sure, background processes always cost some performance, but the amount GFE costs with DCS MT in many cases is something that deserves attention, no? Yes, it is logical. Most people just install the driver package and click through with it with the default settings. They don't even know these things are running in the background, hence they will never disable them. Just because something is a no-brainer for you and me, it doesn't mean that is the case for everyone out there.
  7. You can test with vsync off to see how much difference it makes on your system.
  8. Maybe @Flappie can keep an eye on this issue and maybe try to replicate please?
  9. Do you run Geforce experience by any chance? If so, uninstall it. Worked wonders for some people in my group.
  10. After trying to help a guy from my group optimize his settings, there was a MASSIVE improvement once Geforce Experience was uninstalled. That system was a 10700K with a 3070 and 64GB of RAM. Same situation tested went from 50 to 80-100 fps, so almost double. That was on 2D in 2560x1440. Telling the story in the group, another colleague uninstalled Geforce Experience and also almost doubled his FPS on the Marianas. He is running an 8700K with a 2080Ti and 32GB of memory. All other settings remained the same. Both systems were tested with the MT build of DCS. I haven't tested out what exact component of Geforce Experience is the cause of this, but uninstalling it did improve performance by almost double in 2 independent cases. So I thought I'd share that finding and see if somebody can figure out what exactly is causing it and also bring it to ED's attention. I myself haven't had this installed in years, so I wasn't even aware it could bog down systems so hard. Would be very interested in figuring out the exact cause and wanted to give you guys n gals a heads up what might be holding you back.
  11. Since non-planar HMDs with eyetracking are the future, getting proper FFR and DFR to work with such little effort should be a no-brainer! Once PSVR2 releases in February, pretty much nobody in their right mind will dare to release a headset without eyetracking anymore. DCS taking advantage of that should be desirable for obvious reasons.
  12. Varjo is teasing reprojection already and it is bound to release with Varjo Base 3.8, so the next major update. Then you can crank up the quality and still have everything buttery smooth. Not to mention still better performance because the realtime video compression to send the image over USB on Meta devices has quite an impact on framerate too.
  13. As the title says, even if control is assigned to the front seater via the control handover button, the throttle will always snap back immediately to what is set in the back seat in multicrew if control responsibility is set to instructor in the Mission Editor. However, when alt-tabbing out on the backseat, front seat throttle starts working (provided you handed over controls before alt-tabbing out)! That is of course not a viable workaround, but I hope it somehow helps with debugging.
  14. Just had this happen to me in MP, human CPG makes symbology select mess up.
  15. That is indeed great news then, hopefully we will see an update that resolves this issue soon!
  16. Please provide stateful button mappings for all functions, especially flight controls, master arm etc. So separate functions for switching something on and off. For example, only having a toggle for the speed brake is a big no-no.
  17. This looks much better than the weird gesture style interface they had before (the one were pointer beams were shining out of your hands).
  18. Oooof, I expected it to be more expensive, but an order of magnitude more is harsh. Nevermind then, it is the E or nothing. Just wondering whether the E is strong enough to be used with a Virpil S-style extension or whether forces become pathetic at that length.
  19. The recent update forces the use of the Varjo-SDK specific outputs, which enables the 4 pictures (they are for the bionic focus displays inside the VR-3 and XR-3, Aero does not have them). To solve this, run your DCS as follows: "D:\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\DCS.exe" --force_steam_VR (and of course correct for your particular install path. That will force DCS into using SteamVR, which does not support the 4-screen rendering and should also solve your lowered resolution issue. Basically going back to how it was before the recent update.
  20. Has anyone ever gotten the opportunity to test the CLS-E vs the CLS-P? And is the latter even available to private individuals?
  21. Basically an Aero including eyetracking and foveated rendering with the FOV of a Pimax in the form factor of an Arpara with Index Audio. I'll take two.
  22. Yep, deadzone 3 on HOCAS cursor axis solves the stickiness to the screen borders and also enables the double-click jumping between displays.
  23. @BIGNEWYHi there, we know there is not much of a timeline for Vulkan and Multicore support, but do you happen to know whether the Vulkan renderer rewrite will entail OpenXR support for the VR portion of the sim? Thank you!
