  1. Yeah.....but that's the big point.....maybe they should !.....after all we are their customers, and we're only asking.....no one is demanding anything,it would be nice just clear this issue up once and for all.....do you not agree ?
  2. The silence from ED over this issue is 'deafening'......an explanation to why they've implemented this delay in the cannons, and it's 'correct as is',would be a start, but to date it's been very non committal on their part.....Sssshhh I can hear a pin drop, lol.
  3. ......And me,the Dora needs a facelift,totally agree.
  4. +1 My thoughts entirely, lights are on my next 'to do' list....apart from a few internal instrument lights I have'nt given the lighting much of a study,I have been too busy just learning to fly the Mossie in daylight conditions. Now all sorted I want to start flying night ops so will have to give the lights a little more attention me thinks, lol. @Reflected..Thanks Guy,great tutorial.....this is going to be so handy, very much appreciated old chap
  5. Of course Graf, and we all have our personal methods to land.....if that works for you, then great.......I must apologise if my message sounded a little dictatorial in it's presentation,I did'nt intend it to come across that way. BTW I remember reading from a famous pilot a few years ago now......that a good landing is one where you can walk away from it ,Lol Loved your video on take off btw Graf, first class Sir
  6. +1 Agreed....the reflector gunsight in the default view (when you've moved in to view it)is off,it's too high out of the actual sight,as Aussie pilot's first picture shows,we need ED to alter it so that the default view(once you've moved in to view it) is sighted correctly, moved down.....like you can see in Aussie Pilot's second picture, that view is perfect. I'm also using Trackir 5 here too. EDIT: It would be interesting to know if VR pilot's are having the same issues......therefore my apologies in asking ED to correct this before we have the VR pilot's take on this.
  7. Yes certainly......I find if you take a longer, lower trajectory into the runway the landing is far more sympathetic,ie more gentle.....so don't come in too high, keep it low,and long,it'll also allow you to compensate more easily, your not fighting the controls. Anyway try it see what you think.
  8. IMHO it's the 'rudder'.....but you guys must make your own conclusions. I spent almost an entire morning the other day trying to work out the Mosquito take off problem.......the issue is the rudder on initial take off.....as Yo-Yo describes. Yo-Yo says.....'The tail, generally, is out of downwash and the rudder control is close to zero till enough speed is gained. But it means that the plane gains STABILITY as well and no fast rudder work is necessary.' So given this, the method I use works,as it almost does away with the issue of rudder or brake inputs that inhibit a straight take off run,so when advancing the boost to 4Ib holding on the brakes and then swiftly advancing the boost to 18Ib the aircraft tracks down the runway smooth and straight.....this is key to a perfect Mosquito take off. However this is not my method......it is 'Holbeach's method' Advance throttles to 4 lb against the brakes, let go of the brakes, and advance to 18 lb boost swiftly......(this is where I was going wrong initially,I was feeding in the power too gradually, which allows the aircraft to snake all over the place). This will give you a straight run without the use of rudder or brakes until shortly after tail lift...compensate and lift off at 120 Mph.
  9. Fantastic video Holbeach.....would love to see the same style video with the 'Controller Indicator' switched on so we can see your stick movements
  10. Would definitely advise anyone interested in the Mossie to bind these to keyboard or controller buttons.....do not go there with clickable cockpit unless you want to play 'Twister',Lol.
  11. Exactly !......Personally I can't see any sense other than having DCS from DCS.......so why go through Steam ?....you have to wait for everything....so why not delete the Steam version and simply download the DCS version? No brainer really......
  12. I thought the same, but they will drop, hold your weapon release button in for longer and see link below. After the latest update the staggering of the bombs being released was altered so the bombs do not collide on the way down and blow the aircraft up.....this is all fine, however the staggering of the bombs from their positions is IMHO incorrect. The bombs when released should drop from left to right ie the No1 port position should release prior to the No2 starboard position, after all this is how they are positioned on the bomb panel,if they're going to stagger the bombs to stop the collision.....but ED has got this in reverse, which is why it confused me......No2 drops prior to No1.....and if you drop all four bombs together, the No1 position (Port/left) is the last to release/fall from the aircraft,I think this is incorrect.
  13. I found this cracking good little video today please excuse if it has been posted/uploaded up already.
  14. @NineLine.....Actually NineLine...I personally did not find this helpful, since there is so little power going to the rudder for stabilization, until the speed has built up....the main reason the team removed the 'assistance percentage' bar in the 'Special Options' I believe. So because of this there is no point IMHO in having this on. For those still struggling with this I suggest you use the method I have adopted in the message above, courtesy of 'Holbeach'.....yesterday,before I found this gem of advice,I was getting two successful take off's if I was lucky, out of 5....today since adopting this method I am getting a confident 5 out of 5 successful take offs.....it's like a light has been switched on,lol. @bart....Thank you my friend much appreciated ***BTW If any member wants any help with their take offs please just message me I'd be glad to help.....I have done nothing but attempt Mosquito take offs for the past two days.....I have made all the take off mistakes known to man, written off countless aircraft but have now polished this art to a fine art.....with a little help from my friends of course.***
  15. Same here and many thanks to Holbeach......your a lifesaver Sir.....this was really eluding me and your method nailed it for me
  16. Eureka...I've got it!.....I did'nt give up in the end,it was just eating at me to nail this blessed monster......here's the method I have now adopted to take off without assistance or auto rudder on. I will firstly state that this is by no means my findings or a method that I have created it is 'Holbeach's' method that he kindly posted on Thursday post update,on the 'Tips for taking off with the Mosquito?' thread,so all credit goes to him....Thank you very much Holbeach I can't thank you enough Sir.....and I just want to use this opportunity to thank everyone that has helped me in their various ways to assist me sorting this out. My problem was not advancing the 3000 rpm quick enough once I got rolling, after holding on the brakes advancing the throttles to 4 Ib and releasing the brakes to get rolling, which gives you a straight run without the use of the rudder or brakes until shortly after tail lift. He uses a different airfield but the method is the same regardless,I have just stuck to using Manston. Holbeach's Method Nose down 2.0, right rudder 0.5 tick, aileron right 1 tick, 15 deg flap. 3000 rpm. Advance throttles to 4 lb against the brakes. Let go brakes, advance to 18 lb. boost. This will give a straight run without use of rudder or brakes until shortly after tail lift, when it will drift left. Compensate. Lift off at 120 mph. There is no spare runway now. Trees at end are closer now. Wheels up, trim out nose up tendency. Flaps up, trim out nose down tendency. Stay level. build speed to 200 mph.
  17. Yes,appreciated Graf but I can take off,fly and land the Spit, yes I went through the same pain as yourself I'm sure, but I've mastered that, with the assistance off,as I have all the other WW2 warbirds......but the Mosquito is a different beast altogether. Question: Do you have the Mosquito ?
  18. After spending a whole morning on this experimenting with different ways to take off in a controlled manner I give up....the Spitfire take off was easy compared to this, and yet guys made such a fuss about it when it first came out....that is nothing to this monster ! The snaking of this module as it tracks down the runway is beyond belief,so for the time being that's it for me with this...it's got to a stage where it's just not enjoyable....I like a challenge like the next man,but this is ridiculous. It flies beautifully (once airborne!),it lands beautifully, and I have no problems whatsoever with anything else, but if I can't take off I'm not interested.....with all respect air starts are not for me. For those that have 'genuinely' mastered this.....I take my hat off to you....you have my full respect
  19. Ok,I have hopefully followed your instructions precisely Yo-Yo,here are my screenshots to show where the trim pointer ends up if I trim to keep my Mosquito between 120 - 140 Mph,flaps at 10 %,gear down. My aircraft was loaded with a default fuel load of 67% fuel and 4 x 500Ib. To inhibit any parallax reading I shifted to the No2 seat so I could look directly at it,as you can see the pointer was set at 1.5 clicks/ticks after my trimming,so I then used this for my take offs. Unfortunately this did not make a difference to my take offs, the tail still does'nt seem to be stabilized,so I am still fighting it as I track down the runway, the worst of the snaking seems to be the last third of the take off.So it's back to the drawing board for me,more training, more experimenting.....but I'm running out of ideas.
  20. Thanks for the tip Yo-Yo I've got some time off today so I'll give this a go,appreciate you trying to sort this out for us,we'll get there I'm sure EDIT: Out of interest my take off headaches are when the aircraft is heavily loaded ie Mission ready, but I want it this way, there is no point to me learning how to take off without a full load of bombs and hardly any fuel in the tanks. So with this in mind are your findings based on the aircraft being heavily loaded ? or it being lightly loaded.......taking off lightly loaded is no problem to me,I can do that easily without any assistance, just to be clear.
  21. Yo-Yo,if I may.....I can't speak for HotTom but for me the assist does help,I never used the full 100%,but I did find a nice compromise using 25% of the assist. I don't get many hours to fly so when I do I do not want to spend a whole afternoon trying to just take off !.....so yes I was occasionally using a 25% assist,it helps to straighten out the wild aggressive snaking the Mosquito module currently has. I have tried and tried to get the take off right but it just does'nt want to play ball with me,maybe my poor skills, but I'm not sure it's all down to me.....I have flown and mastered all of the DCS WW2 warbirds yet the Mossie take off is eluding me at present. My flights always include 67% fuel and 4 x 500 Ib bombs. My procedure is probably no different to others, nose down elevator trim to 1.5 - 2 clicks, flaps 10-15%,rudder trim slightly to the right, holding the brake in,powering up very slowly the RPM.I then release the brakes power up the RPM gradually as I track down the runway, slowly moving the stick to the neutral position and finally at 3000 RPM and at about 130 MPH allow the aircraft to rotate, keeping the nose down, raising the gear and finally raising the flaps. I find using any brakes inhibits the quality of the tracking down the runway whilst taking off so I resist using them, obviously I do use my rudder to correct any snaking. Now without using the assist I fail in my take offs, about 2 out of every 5 attempts if I'm honest, however using 25% of the assist I get a full 5 out of 5 attempts correct,so you can see it helps,as it does others.I have tried as well,I don't want you or others thinking I'm not trying hard enough,I really have given my take offs top priority.Landing is simple the Mosquito lands beautifully, and I don't have any issues with it's general flight either.....it's just the blessed take offs, lol. I expect there will be others that will complain about their take offs here in the coming weeks as they find their take off situation now compromised.
  22. No we won't have that NineLine.....you had nothing to do with this.......it was not you who made the decision, and it was not you who has refused it's re implementation,no one is,or should be blaming you. You at least tried to help in raising the issue with the team,so again, thank you.
  23. Yeah appreciated....and on the flip side of the coin I spoke to guys today who up until today had no problems with their take offs thinking their skills were great.....only to update yesterday and are now finding it nye on impossible to just take off. This was all down to them not realising the assist was on 100% at default and now they have no assist at all,not even a 10% helping hand in short they're all struggling. I probably like yourself knew you could turn this off or turn down the assist but they did'nt,for what ever reason they had'nt read about this being an option or nobody had informed them. But,hey it does'nt matter now,it's all academic.
