Seriously though, one of my main concern is about vram utilization as it appears the title is quite hungry about it.
Now from what I gather from this thread and other sources, 3090 isn't optimal for 1080p even a waste for mediocre gains/euro so 3080 then? -
Now now, hold down your pitch forks. I'm aware RTX3090 with 1080p is an act of blasphemy as a general consensus.
But I'd like to stay with 1080p for cornucopia of reasons. One is that I already have G-sync IPS monitor, and I'd like to stay with it to notice how much electric is going to cost me with RTX3090 on 1080p, and from there an educated guesstimate of 1440p.
Then for once I'd like to enjoy the game at very high settings, and 24GB vram of the card should be pivotal to hit the target.
Anyone using 3090 on 1080p? How's the gaming for you?
And finally, which vendor is generally recommended for quietness and cooling with air? EVGA (any series) is still going over 1700€ in my backyard. Cheapest I can find is MSI GAMING X TRIO for about 1550€. -

I find it useful in Mi-24/Mi-8 specially with vertical take off/landings and hovers, so would be interested to know if such option would be available for AH-64D?
(Obviously, if this machine is installed with advance autopilot system like Kh-50 then such may not be needed. ) -

This is how a typical hind pilot looks like.
One eye to keep pilot and gunner's reticles overlapping for 9K114, while other is for speed gauge/meter.
Even AI Mi-24 (both V and P variants) don't hover to shoot 9K114. They keep their speed below 150 km/hr. Mi-28 is a different animal though.

Another problem is mandatory overlapping of pilot's and operator's (AI) crosshairs to get launch authorization, you need to be in a high altitude than you'd prefer, and pitch down the nose to overlap those crosshairs . This incurs speed and every damn hostile eye is staring at you.
If there is no such prerequisite then hovering and shooting would be safe.
Was this overlapping crosairs a prerequisite in real Mi-24P? What was ATGM launch doctrine? -
Is it possible to do it? Human as pilot, and AI gunner/operator is aiming ATGMs while helicopter is in hover away from AAA range? Because currently, the reticles of human pilot and AI gunner must be overlapping to fire ATGMs..and this means helicopter is in motion.
I presume this is not the case if gunner/operator is human. Never tried this scenario yet. -
I noticed that the bombay and racks in Tu-22M are done remarkably well compared to other bombers. Each bomb can be seen dropping from the rack and rack is empty once all bombs are gone. Nice work by ED.
However, it would be nice if these doors can be opened by player in a mod for Tu-22M. Is it possible to do it?
In current Tu-22M mod, it is just not possible to open the bombay doors, and bombs from rack drop one at a time. -

I spend 6 hours yesterday to learn ACLS landing after work since I'm too lazy to land manually and avoid harangue from Jester.
I did everything right but ended up in water most of the time. Pulled my hairs out of frustrating and went to sleep.
Today I noticed this thread and imagine my surprise with Pickachu face.

Learning to kill targets in S530D. However, there are some queries, and I tried to find the answers before writing here. Either the search result didn't answer my question or they were too old.
1. How to employ S530? I understand that ideally the target should be slightly above your altitude. However, as we know ideals rarely exist, and the engagement alt is usually less than 5000m which already means reduced range of missile.
What if targets decides to hit the deck? How to reacquire the lock and under which mode? SVI?
2. Speaking of SVI, which modes (SVU, BAH) are for what situation? Any other modes besides these two for S530?
3. Any other tips not to lose the lock and waste taxpayers money in lost missile?
My engagements are usually against Mig-21, F-4E etc. Any aircraft with modern missiles (AIM120, R-77, R-27ER/ET) means run away.

I started with M2000C. Can line up in formation with no issues. However, putting the knob in basket is a feat to accomplish. Tanker aircraft is KC-135MPRS
There were moments when I just wanted to open the canopy, grab the damn basket and shove it over the probe. :D
I'll just stay with usual hit the airbase and refuel/rearm. It is safer this way, and convenient for bathroom breaks.

For some reasons, I can't see the cross when I press "magic slave/ag designate" button for bombing with GBU-12 bombs. These are the steps which I take sequentially.
- Radar is on
- TAS and and EL1 are selected in PCA
- HUD is in A/G mode
- Diamond just in front of the target and press magic slave/ag designate button
- Weapon release when CCRP line shows up.
The GBU-12 flies to target just fine for kaboom :gun_rifle: . It is only that I can't see the cross in HUD so there's no way to know if the designation is on or not.
Am I doing something wrong?

Same in here. All parameters are in the line, calm weather and winds yet ACLS overshoots.
Can anyone else provide a track to devs? I'll be away from home for a few days.
