  1. Hey Shein, How did you solve the errant mouse on your x-55 throttle? Did Saitek replace your unit or was it a software issue? Mine is currently useless. Thanks!
  2. I've noticed this same issue in the most recent updates as well. It is rather annoying because A) It was much easier to watch impact/overall effectiveness of a bombing pass...aka how many enemy vehicles destroyed & B) it was also fun to watch the close-up action instead of trying to witness it via the TGP. This is especially a problem if you've got the winds cranked up and your bomblets land way off target outside the view of the targeting pod. Hard to know which way to correct on the next pass. ED, please bring this secondary view back!
  3. I'm re-posting this question in this thread because A) I've only noticed the issue when I build an .lua using the Easy Monitor Configuration mod and B) no one answered me in the bugs & problems thread under A-10C. Since the original post, I've noticed that heat blur works fine as long as I'm running centerview point at 1920x1080. In the past I've stretch the centerview point over three monitors for a 5760x1080 resolution. Hey guys, Finally had time for the headache of upgrading from 1.1.0.7 to 1.2.3. Hoping the auto updater is as good as advertised. The issue I'm having is with my A-10C engine exhaust...apparently it is the heat blur option in Menu Options. Pretty straight forward, it's not working right. Attempted to run updater, tried to use the repair utility, looked for updated drivers for my ATI card...there weren't any. I finally got all of my controls dialed back in after the massive re-install. Anyone have any ideas?

  5. Quick question gents...I'm getting a torrent access denied message while trying to download the a-10c 1.2 and p-51d 1.2 modules. I can't find the fix in the search function. Can anyone help?
  6. Can someone specify the path if you don't use DCS World? Just A-10C
  7. I've been the not-so-happy owner of an X-65 for a little over a year now. While the stick looks and feels great, in was INCREDIBLY inconsistent with centering. Some days it would work great and be dead centered and others it was showing full scale deflection in the control panel controller. I too noticed, as others have reported, that the stick will provide an input without ever touching it. Simply waving your hand nearby the X-65F without ever actually touching it will make the cross-hairs jump all over the place in the control panel controller. While it's been speculated that this phenomenon stems from crappy shielding of the internal components, I can 100% confirm this. It's an RF shielding issue. Mine is caused by using the Multi-Function Panel built by CH Products which I know many flight simmers use as well. This device emits an RF signal which GREATLY interferes with the Saitek X-65F. Not that my issue is CH's fault, as the device itself is designed to work off of RF and it works great. So all of my many hours upon hours of installing drivers, uninstalling them, reverting to old versions, searching countless forums, and talking to Saitek's tech support all comes down to unplugging my MFP to make my X-65F usable. The X-65F works perfectly when no RF signal is nearby to mess with it. I'm posting this for anyone else who is also having the same centering/calibration issues that have plagued me all along. I've let Mad Catz who have taken over Saitek know my experience but I highly doubt there will ever be a fix. Just something else to consider when picking a HOTAS.
  8. Thank you for the quick reply! As is now obvious, I was only considering the aerodynamics of losing the engine itself and not the secondary systems that feed off each. I appreciate it.
  9. Can anyone expand on this? I've never heard of a jet aircraft having a critical engine unless it is an outboard engine on a quad or the upwind engine on takeoff. I'm not an A-10 pilot but I am a pilot who has flown a level 6 CRJ-200 simulator (which shares the same engine as the A-10 with relatively similar placement) and that didn't have a critical engine...
  10. I'll post a track if no one else has gotten this but when I drop my CBU-97s (after setting the HOF to 1800 of course), I get a good separation of the canister and switch to weapon view to watch the bomblets parachute down. This is where it gets interesting...the bomblets with their parachutes start bouncing up and down on the ground moments before exploding. Bouncing as in they drift to ground level, stop, and then gain altitude ~30ft before drifting back down. They do this several times before detonation. Anyone else seen this?
  11. Thank you for asking this question! This was driving me crazy...thought it was a bug.
  12. Breakthrough! I had given up on this but you guys kept throwing ideas at it and that kept me toying with it. Thanks for the support. Using the Saitek programing software, I had tried to assign a band between 2% and 5% throttle which would activate the keyboard hotkey for left engine start (RightAlt + Home). At first I tried to set a small deadzone for the thrust lever via the Saitek control panel in addition to the band I programmed. No response. I then set a deadzone via the in-game axis tune for the thrust lever. No response. I then reset the Saitek control panel deadzone back to default or no deadzone. Still no response. Here's where I opened notepad on a whim to see if the "band" was actually activating. It did nothing when I moved the throttle to the 2-5% area so I was feeling another failure. For whatever reason I moved the throttle all the way up to max AND THERE IT WAS. The hotkeys (LeftAlt + Home) finally activated when I got to 95-98% throttle. Something got inverted somehow. To take advantage of this, I edited my band with the hotkey to the 90 to 95% range on the Saitek programming software. I went back to the in-game axis-tune deadzone and set it to default or no deadzone. Violla! I am able to start both engines just barely moving the thrust levers forward one at a time. (So much work just so I didn't have to hit 2 keystrokes lol) Thanks everyone for their help! ENGINE START using Saitek X-65 Thrust Lever SOLUTION: 1) Open Saitek Programming software 2) Edit Throttle 1 and 2 to create "bands" and not fallback 3) Set a band at 90% to 95% on throttle 1 and 2. 4) Program hotkeys (LeftAlt + Home) for left engine and (LeftCtrl + Home) for right engine into both band ranges you just created. 5) Done!
  13. Yea, it does. I have the engine start mapped to a different switch on the throttle. I just can't get it to activate when I move the thottle alone...
  14. It sure would add one more level of difficulty to my 30 mike mike and bombing runs! Whoever the ed devs are, they should be beaming with pride about now. This sim never ceases to amaze me and it just keeps getting better and better! I'm a die hard F4AF convert and I'm just so stoked there's a team like ED that can so passionately and competently breathe life into new aviation sims while raising the bar as the technology develops. Good on you guys! Thanks for the welcome!
