  1. Try changing action = iCommandPlaneRadarVerticalAbs to action = iCommandPlaneRadarVertical in appropriate config file. Config files are located in %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\.
  2. You wouldn't need a ram disk to load the game entirely from ram. Have some app read the game folder (for example md5 checksum generator) - files will stay in cache. But I have never done so and I can't say I saw stuttering in DCS. I have 16GB ram and two 7200rpm disks in raid 1.
  3. My solution is more ram - 16GB or more. Having a lot of "free" ram to be used by disk cache will offer a lot of the ssd benefits.

  5. You can never have too much ram ;) I have 16GB and most of it is used as disk cache. In Team Fortress 2 I'm always first to load after a map change - even before people that claim having SSD disks.
