Because other E-sports events are either completely elevated themes, such as lol, or there are real competitions in reality, such as F1, only air combat, which is the most confrontational and complex event for human beings to control machinery, and an event that has happened in the real world but cannot be reproduced. Many human activities on the battlefield have become sports competitions, such as javelin and fencing. Because of its danger and complexity, air combat can never be a competition in the real world. Therefore, only the virtual world is the only place where air combat can be carried out I believe that in 100 years, air combat simulation will be the most successful sports, like today's football and basketball, but we need to work hard from now on.

  9. Air combat simulation is still a game genre with few players, however many people are interested in flight simulators after watching exciting air combat movies. One of the reasons that hindered more people from becoming simulation pilots is that they are not stimulated to initiate their flight sim career. DCS provides an excellent platform, among all kinds of existing DCS fans, there is a consistent number of people who are keen on various competitions. We believe that a successful cyber gaming activity must have a successful model of competition, and a successful competition will attract an increasing number of potential players to join in. Starting from 2004, other E-sports had much more success than the air combat simulation in terms of cyber game competition. Comparing it with a similar catergory---- racing simulation had far more followers, partially due to the ease of access to the players' cockpit in racing games. However this is not the case with flight simulators and there is no existing flight sim which allows the spectators to follow the players' cockpits through Internet. This is why we are currently only providing the the external view which appears very monotonous. Now, DCS has provided a sophiticated technical solution to allow two players to take control of one single aircraft. By extending the very same technology, players' view sharing in the server can be achieved. The instrument data transmission may not be neccessary, but the players' head movement data are desirable. As how we are operating now, in order to broadcast the competition, we are making each contestant send their live streams to the server first, the server will broadcast all the live streams to the followers in a second time. Obviously this process will cause a delay which makes the cockpit view and the external view desynchronised. We need a function which allows viewing of the other players' cockpit and their head movements. We believe this is an important function that can significantly change the future.
