  1. The radio options for presets, mainly the "manual AM" button that you need to adjunst for bypassing the FM radio bug are NOT SYNCED between seats on multicrew. Both crew have to go to UFC, radio presets menu and press the button independently or it will stay in FM for the guy who is not doing it (mainly the pilot) It's already reported to RAZBAM discord but I'm doing it here as well for double check.

  3. Yes, that's true. But most if not all missions and servers depend on units to be DESTROYED. Sure you can lob some MK20 over a sam site and degrade the radars to the point they are not a factor anymore, but for the mission, they are still up and you still need to kill them. Same with the lonely BTR82 hiding behind a bush in the perimeter of an enemy airbase.
  4. That's more a problem of DCS damage model and mission scripting than a RL capability. For MP it's always easier to just depend on units for capture, points and triggers. Doing that with statics where you could need bigger bombs is more cumbersome and most people just avoid it. I'd love we would need GBU 31/3 for hardened structures, or the incoming mighty GBU 28. But most of the time you don't, all you need is a lot of small precision munitions to clear BTR, tanks, IFV and APC from said capture zone, hence lots of GBU 12-GBU 38, CBU 97 or APKWS are the weapons of choice
  5. We are still missing the Startup video and the Baltic Dragon manual. So I don't think we will have it tomorrow.
  6. Still the SE will be a powerhouse in A/A. It won't be a F15C eagle, but still more than a match for any mission loaded fighter.
  7. They are not full of information, they just give you a quick guide of how to do something, but you will just repeat that like a mechanicus priest in warhammer 40k. Yes, it works that way but you don't know why. We indeed read a book, the manual. The problem is that most of the time the manual is not up to the desired level, because early access.
  8. Yes, Wags are more like quick start guides, cool if you just want to know HOW to do anything. Notso videos teach you HOW to do and WHY. I can understand that for people who just want to know how they might be boring and slow paced, but for us "rivet counters" and "procedure nerds" it is a goldmine.
  9. IIRC they said in their Discord that just one livery will have the option to include albino parts and you can fiddle with the lua in question to put one or the other. I think at least the aerobrake, flaps, ailerons, rudders and some panels will be available for changing colour.
  10. You CAN do it alone. I've done my fair share of low level interdiction with the harrier in bad weather and night. I also had my share of litobraking because of being head down at 200 ft and 450 kn though... 2 is better, but you can do it alone. High altitude bombing was used when the SAM threat was mostly degraded and it was better to face a sam launch than a lot of AA at low level.
  11. I think the main difference is the kind of mission. If you are doing tank plinking from 30k feet, more or less it is the same idea and probably the work load is similar. The point is that the SE was designed to be an interdictor, flying fast and low over enemy territory and being able to locate their targets with radar in IFR conditions, strike and come back in one piece, maybe shooting down enemy interceptors in case of need. As you can imagine, doing that kind of night flying at high speed and low altitude leaves very little for the pilot to check the INS, map the target, set the offsets, prepare the ordenance, check the countermeasures etc... he is fully concentrated in keeping the plane at the designed altitude, watching the NAVFLIR, following the TFR commands and keeping the speed in check to comply with the TOT. There is where the WSO is important so they can do all that target stuff. The pilot will just follow the ASL and pickle.
  12. The main reason is that the weapon of choice against that kind of targets is the CBU 87 or the Mk20. Mk82 can K-kill a tank with a direct hit but a near miss will also give you a mission kill. The problem is that in DCS is either K-kill or bust, because even with 10% damage the tank will function. Bad, slow and such, but it counts as alive, while in RL most likely it will be abandoned and the crew will be shocked.
  13. I did, I talked with one spanish NATO certified JTAC that was on tour on Afghanistan. He said that the only thing he loved more than having an A10 overwatching them, was having our own Tigres doing the job. He said the A10 guys were always on spot and the avenger gun was so accurate they could target a building just next to one with blue troops and be confident they weren't going to cause any blue casualties. On the other hand, other fast jets relied too much on JDAMs and laser mavericks which were precise but their lethal radious were much bigger. And he chucked remembering when one day the plane in overwatch was a B1, with 2000 lbs JDAMs and no TGP, coordinates only. That day he was really, really stressed doing his job. So yeah, the A10 maybe have a story of blue on blue incidents, but that's because they were always requested when troops are in danger close. Still, they always had somebody to pay for their rounds on the base. Always.

  15. IIRC the fuel flow of the boom system is more than twice of that of the basket. That's the main strenght of the system. Of course the basket is more flexible (pun intended) and that's the reason everyone else uses it. With the boom, you need a dedicated design and operator. With the basket, all you need is a fuel tank with a basket and you can fit it at any plane.
