  1. I spent two weeks trying to troubleshoot this between my own efforts and Saiteks...helpful? support service. They were repeatedly telling me to do the same things, so i gave up and after HOURS of experimentation i discovered Teamspeak was the problem. Under Teamspeak settings, click the hotkeys tab, and in the bottom right corner make sure the dropdown box is set to Direct Input. After restarting Teamspeak, if you had the same issue as i did it should be resolved.
  2. Thanks for the suggestions Blooze, Unfortunately i've already uninstalled and re-installed several versions of the drivers & software, and even gone so far as to remove every trace of Saitek from registry and all drives. The problem persisted. Got a screenshot of the issue below. This was a button programmed to hit "Ctrl T", held for about 3 seconds. You can see at times the buttons are repeating so fast they get mixed together, and at other points it is simulating the button being held down properly for a short time. All the buttons on the joystick control panel appear to function as normal, and it doesnt matter if the keystroke being performed is just a simple single letter or multiple key press etc. With the help of a friend i think we have come to the conclusion that this stick, with less than 25 hours of use, is shot. It seems the stick is reporting gaps in the button press while holding. Going to try it on another pc, and if it gets the same result, i guess i'll have to save and grab a new stick... ...It probably wont be Saitek. This will be the second X52 i've owned that has developed a fault after very little use. If anyone else has suggestions, or experienced (and resolved!) the same issue it would be great. Everything was working a week or so ago when i first installed, and now i actually get a chance to play and all this kicks off :(
  3. Bit of an odd one here. As mentioned in a previous thread i'm trying to get back into the DCS universe, and have reinstalled the saitek software/drivers for my stick. However i have an issue that is rendering the game unplayable. While in-game, none of the keys are functioning as they should. Example: In A-10C, pressing the master mode button results in rapid cycling of master modes, and as soon as i release, it sticks on air to air mode. And a single click on the coolie right button rapidly cycles the right mfd screens (holding has the same effect, instead of setting SOI) In the profiler test window, holding the joystick button down results in the window reporting rapid pressing and releasing of the key. If i hold the same key on the keyboard, the test window shows the button press, and repeating in blue (i'm sure saitek owners know what i'm talking about!) Does anyone know what could be the issue? I'm banging my head against a wall with saitek support, who just seem to be sending me round in circles. Running windows 8 Enterprise edition x64
  4. Reinstalled A-10C recently after buying a trackir unit. However while playing i hear all the cockpit sounds with the exception of engine sounds, which is replaced by a hissing noise. Is this a known issue? I had a similar problem back when the P-51 beta first released, but i cant remember what the fix was. Any help would be greatly appreciated. some system specs below: i7 2600k MSI Z68 motherboard 8gb ram Creative wireless headset Windows 8
  5. What is the correct call for launching an AGM? The other night while playing i got a launch warning, and a friend said "missile launch". I asked if it was him and he said yes, but he was just confirming it was him that called it. seconds later i get a missile so far up my arse it burned my tonsils.
  6. You guys are awesome. Now for testing! While i'm here, is there anything that needs to be done to enable rearming and refuelling at air bases? In all of my missions if i return to my original airfield for a rearm i don't get any response from ground crews. Advice? Cheers guys :)
  7. Hello all. Just got into building missions a little, and i'm a bit lost as to what to do. At the moment, the players mission is to fly into an area and destroy a radar station so that a bomber can drop its load on a target (supply convoy). If the bomber enters the radar coverage then it will be destroyed. I've set a trigger zone so that the aircraft explodes once it enters the trigger area. But i want the trigger zone to be disabled once the radar is gone. The bomber is set to hit the target, the player aircraft is set to destroy the radar. I just need to link the two parts together. Any suggestions? On a side note, i'd like for there to be a missile station that won't shoot at the player aircraft, but will shoot the bomber. This is another area i'm having difficulty with. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
  8. Not strictly true. There was a time (once) when developers actually gave a crap about the quality of the product they were releasing. Think back to UT2004, Call of Duty 1/UO/2/4, the older GTA series. These days its a case of push the game out ASAP, grab the cash then push for more cash in DLC. The number of games that don't even patch HUGE bugs now is just shocking. BF3 is a slight letdown in that they downscaled maps for consoles to deal with. They've had to reduce the number of vehicles as a result, and once they're gone you're left to jog for half a mile. Not fun. Being able to spawn in the aircraft (but no other vehicle) also needs changing. But i'm not going to hold my breath for it.
  9. You're right about the lack of team play in BF3. Thats not its biggest issue though. Theres much more of a problem in the tossers that will deliberately damage (or destroy) your vehicle if they wanted to drive. Unfortunately its a problem that has been around long before BF2 was released, and its becoming more of a problem as time goes by. However, even a squad of two people can do exceptionally well. Stick to cover, cover eachothers movements and you wont get caught out nearly as often. The biggest flaw in Americas Army 3 was that it was released. The second biggest flaw is that straight after release the dev team got dumped and now theres no proper fixes. I can honestly say that i've never played a game as awful as that. Americas Army 2 was one of my all-time favorite games, until the final patch which all but ruined it. AA3 is about as fluid as a bag of rocks falling down a hill. Every movement feels unnatural and awkward. I tried to like it, i really wanted to enjoy it, but i just cant. The days of developers taking time to get things right before release are long gone. Its only about the $$$ now.
  10. Its amusing that you think they're the first to do it. In fact, its amusing to think that people actually believe they have any privacy at all on the internet. Not saying that i think they're right, and i cant imagine it lasting long with that sort of blatant dodgy behaviour. But this sort of thing is only set to get worse. No doubt it'll all blow over and people will forget about it though when the next big controversial screw up hits the internet. Anyone remember all the fuss about Starforce?
  11. Battlelog username: CoveringFire Usually on and off between 5pm and whatever time i need to sleep Really enjoying the game, couple of little niggles like the IRNV night scope being used in broad daylight, and its irritating when you're facing a 'team' consisting of what seems like a hundred snipers and mortar crews. Its interesting to see how few people understand how to work as a team, and how easy it is to pummel the enemy with a few good players who can work together. The number of times you see engineers run straight past a damaged friendly tank, or refuse to turn 180º to heal a downed team mate in case they miss a kill and some all-important points. Theres no I in team, but apparently there is in Battlefield. Enough rambletalk. Would be good to play with/against some people in the right mindset for the game.
  12. Also been stuck there going in the other direction, after a botched ( and heavily damaged) landing. Managed to roll it across the grass, around the edge of the hangars to the bottom of the image, then got stuck almost exactly where you were there.
  13. Apologies in advance for the long post. Having a few issues with Facetracknoir that despite hours of hunting i cant seem to resolve. I've managed to get it working within warthog using the addon dll thingamy, but i'm getting masses of what i can only describe as jitter when in-game. Using a PS3 eye cam, and v1.5 of facetracknoir. I've tried playing with smoothing and the EWMA filters, but in game even with my head perfectly still the view shifts and wobbles in all directions. In the FTNIR control panel i can see some of the coords for axis are shifting, sometimes pretty significantly (from -7 to positive figures), and the yellow tracking area is changing shape, even with my head still. I'm also having trouble with the actual movement in-game. it feels a bit like the game is trying to predict where i want to look. If i try to look towards the CDU for example it throws the view straight over the right wing, and when i start turning my head back towards the cockpit, nothing will happen until i'm looking almost straight ahead, then the view shifts all the way back to center I cant figure out why FTNIR is struggling. There should be enough light for it to function, i've tried with less and more light. any more and i think i'll wind up blinding myself. The camera sits at 30fps constant Any help here would be massively appreciated. I've been trying to avoid dropping a walletload on a TIR. While i can see the obvious attraction of these alternative solutions, and agreeing with the fact that NP are a rotten bunch, I cant help but see the advantages of TIR right now.
  14. Right, where to start.. Its possible that it was a bump on the runway, NWS was turned off at about 55kts. I'll try easing back on the stick a little earlier to reduce the pressure on the nose wheel. as for the EAC problem, i'm relatively certain i did everything in the right order. I'll have another go and remember to save the track if i have the problem again. thanks for the help guys.
  15. A bit puzzled by a couple of problems i've been having this morning. Firstly, is there any reason why i wouldnt be able to turn on the EAC toggle switch? i ran through startup exactly the same as normal, but the EAC toggle just reset to the off position whenever i tried to arm it. I've had this trouble a couple of times, and normally it works after a while, but i cant figure out what it is that i'm doing wrong. Secondly, my last flight started with a bit of a bang. On takeoff at rotate speed i started to pull up and there was a loud bang, the pilot blacked out for a moment, and i assumed i had given the tail a whack (although i didnt think i'd pulled up that far). After taking a lucky hit from a BMP that took my right wing off i watched the track and during takeoff my front landing gear had exploded and completely removed itself! What on earth happened to cause that? I'd have thought that during takeoff the load should be decreasing. So my first thought was a problem with the runway (Beslan rwy 10, approx. 2/3rds down) Any help would be extremely useful, cheers!
