We use a lot of missions that cap airbases but the AI are NOT respecting the coalition change. We did this test and once you capture a red airbase and turn it blue, the red aircraft will continue to spawn on the airfield. This problem was not happening a few patches back. I'm attaching the test mission file and ACMI. ---------------------------------- I added another test mission to demonstrate that this is not a third party script problem. I did another test mission with simple triggers and the problem still is happening. A-10C Snap Views File Location?
VAF [136] Striker replied to VAF [136] Striker's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
RGR, I'll try that. I wasn't sure if it would have a different path but that makes sense. ---------------------------------------------------------------- I found the answer Feefifofum. When you move the camera in the cockpit and then save the view settings it overwrites the one in the saved games folder. It's a completely new file. So now I can edit and adjust it from there. The default file in the game folder looks completely different than the old one because of the new cockpit but it's not saved there and that file never gets changed. -
With the new cockpit the user snap views files have been completely reconfigured. The A-10C is no longer listed in the SnapViewsDefault.lua and is no longer referenced in the user folder one either when you enable "user snap view saving" in the options. I can edit the one in the main A-10C (DCS World\Mods\aircraft\A-10C\views.lua) folder but it would be better to have it in the user folder so that it won't get overwritten with updates. There's nothing in the "special" tab for it either. Can someone explain what's needed to do now to make it work with the user folder and how to create a workable path to it?

reported Tunnel Entrances Still Not Destructable
VAF [136] Striker posted a topic in Bugs and Problems
Why is this still a problem after 2 years now. I put 1000 level explosions on them and we've tried to destroy them in missions and it doesn't work now. Worked for a little while in the new map but then it was disabled again. Roki East Roki West -
We use MIST too and that works but can you send me a link to your scenery tools?

You can't adjust the time it takes to repair runways. In our Operation Khachapuri dynamic mission, the runways in the Caucasus map repair in almost exactly 10 hours. If we bomb them at 10 AM when we do the mission on a Saturday, they are repaired at exactly 8 PM. We've tested in the Persian Gulf map with the dynamic we're working on and they repair in about an hour. So something is wrong or different with the way ED calculates the damage/repair for either one or both of those maps. I would guess that in a war zone situation that the bases would be repaired fairly quickly, and 10 hours makes some sense to me. An hour is ridiculously short. But there's another post here that says in the Gulf War, they bombed the runways with Durandels and then used cluster mines to make it impossible to repair them without clearing the mines which would probably take weeks or months to accomplish. Obviously just bombing and or mining are two different sets of problems. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=255468

We have it for other units, why not for ships yet, and will this ever be implemented?

Are you interested in learning to fly, fight and maximize your abilities in Modern DCS Jets? Would you like to fly fun and challenging cooperative missions as part of a team? Do you have a willingness to learn? If your answers are "Yes," then give the Virtual Armed Forces a go! The Virtual Armed Forces (VAF) is looking to expand its ranks with enthusiastic and motivated virtual pilots and RIOs who enjoy cooperative missions. The VAF has four squadrons primarily supporting four airframes: 75th Fighter Squadron "Tigersharks" flying the A-10C Warthog 111th Fighter Squadron "Ace in the Hole" flying the F-16C Viper VFA-136 "Knighthawks" flying the F/A-18C Hornet VF-142 "Ghostriders" flying the F-14A/B Tomcat We have openings available for all of our squadrons. We don't expect Chuck Yeager; we're happy with Charlie Brown. We prefer good attitudes to good sticks, because with good attitude skills can be learned. We ask only that you bring a good attitude, a willingness use tactics and cooperate as a team, and the dedication to undertake our training syllabus. In return, we will provide our own individual attention to develop your skills. Additionally, we foster a fun, friendly, and supportive environment with no formal rank structure or command hierarchy. Our membership includes a number of civil and former military aviators, and we're all here to have fun! The VAF also boasts custom individual skins created by one of the more prolific skinners in the DCS community. Our comprehensive training program teaches you basic airmanship and 2-ship formation tactics. We focus on realistic training in our Student Undergraduate Pilot Training (SUPT) program. SUPT starts out with VFR flying, landing and take-off patterns, close formation flying and then moves on to IFR, Refueling and Weapons Training. Progression is at the student's pace and flight status is based on the ability to fly safe and to adhere to some basic operational standards. We recruit in small groups to ensure that individual training needs are met and that new members have an opportunity to get to know the group. Of particular note, we are in the process of standing up the VF-142 Ghostriders. If you have ever wanted to learn the RIO position, or fly with a competent human RIO, VF-142 is for you! The RIO curriculum is being developed by a former US Naval Flight Officer, and includes A/A, A/G, and principles of situational awareness. Prospective RIOs can be confident that they are receiving excellent training, and pilots can be confident that the RIOs in VF-142 will transform their F-14 experience for the better! Finally, we wish to cross-train all F-14 aircrews on the pilot and RIO stations to the extent possible to maximize tactical flexibility. We currently operate two severs one for training and one for missions. We fly most days from 3pm Pacific until 9PM Pacific. Weekends are throughout the day on our Dynamic Campaigns unless otherwise scheduled. If you are still interested, please visit Please read the VAF rules and regulations and then apply by sending a PM to Montrose on Discord Montrose#0020 or visit our Discord to talk to someone.

Instructions For Proper Roughmet File
VAF [136] Striker replied to VAF [136] Striker's topic in F-16C
Thank you! -
Can someone please point me to the instructions, to go from this: And I'm looking for specific instructions on the correct values for the channels and layers and not just "change the settings on the channel mixer" type answers. I know how to use Photoshop and I can get it pretty close but not exactly like they're doing it. To this:

ILS and NDB's Still Not Working On Some Airbases
VAF [136] Striker replied to VAF [136] Striker's topic in Bugs and Problems
Thank you for finally fixing some of the ILS and NDB stuff. Finished checking them today and I'm getting NDB's at Gudauta, Lochini and Kolkhi now. Still having problems with the A-10C at Vaziani and Lochini. Can't seem to get the ILS to work from the South. And the A-10C is intermittent at Kutaisi and Batumi for some reason but working most of the time. -
[REPORTED] aim-120 has no mid-cource guidence in TWS

[REPORTED] aim-120 has no mid-cource guidence in TWS
VAF [136] Striker replied to Baikingu's topic in Bugs and Problems
I can confirm the guidance is not right. I fired two 120C's yesterday in LTWS and both did an abrupt turn to the left like they were tracking where the target used to be instead of where it was going and missed both times. I tried the same thing in the Viper and both missiles tracked perfectly fine. -
Concern about Hornet development goals.
VAF [136] Striker replied to Airhunter's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Not quite. The Ka-50 was released in 2008 as a stand alone product in a DVD box which I purchased. I still have the original box. It did have some bugs but it was essentially a complete product upon release and all of the systems worked as advertised. It was later integrated into DCS World after the A-10C. It's been updated after being integrated into DCS World several times including the BS2 upgrade. The A-10C was available for pre-purchase at the end of 2010, released in April 2011 and was in early access for about 6 months or at least less than a year (someone please correct me if they time is incorrect but that's what I remember) but it was also feature complete with all the weapon systems, TAD datalink and working TGP. It was by far the most complex module that they had done to date and it still is more feature rich than a lot of other modules and has an outstanding flight and damage model. Besides some bugs like the datalink not working in some DCS World versions it wasn't missing any features and they actually removed the laser guided Maverick due to contract restrictions. Contrast that with the F/A-18C which has been in EA for almost 2 years now and is still missing key features like A2G radar, ATFLIR, properly working Harpoon's, SLAMER's, on and on. Not complaining by any stretch and I still love flying the Hornet but it's been a little disappointing considering the time frame. And it looks like the constant piling on of other projects has caused a lot of delays so I agree with the OP's point. -
[MISSING TRACK FILE] F/A-18C NOT STRAPPING UP ON CATAPULT
VAF [136] Striker replied to N0as's topic in Bugs and Problems
I can confirm it's broken. I had to keep tapping the U key after I was in position and it finally hooked me up even after I asked permission to take off. VAF SUPT And Refueling-20200220-130148.trk -
Taxi/Landing Light Doesn't Turn With Nose Gear
VAF [136] Striker posted a topic in Bugs and Problems
Doesn't turn any more since Friday's patch. Wasn't fixed with today's patch either. Edit: Sorry, should have stated that the lamp illumination itself doesn't actually rotate left and right with the mounted lamp rotation. The lamp itself actually moves with the gear. Noticed it when starting in the dark. -

ILS and NDB's Still Not Working On Some Airbases
VAF [136] Striker replied to VAF [136] Striker's topic in Bugs and Problems
I just want to know if you guys at Eagle Dynamics even care about these problems any more. They seem like really ridiculous problems to begin with and have been complained about since even before the new map was released. -
Over time and/or on certain areas of the map like an airbase can vehicles be repaired at all, or if they're close to specific units types? Any battle damage repair capability for vehicles like tanks or air defense units? I know they can be rearmed but always wondered about repair.

This is an ongoing problem that we've been dealing with since the new Caucasus map came out. Some are working again and others are not. So today I took the time to go through and test all the airbases and report what I've found. A-10C: ILS for Vaziani 108.75 runway 31 doesn't work (no signal). ILS for Lochini 108.90 runway 31 doesn't work (no signal). ILS for Kolkhi 108.90 runway 09 doesn't work (no glide slope). ILS for Kutaisi 109.75 runway 08 doesn't work (no glide slope). L-39C: NDB for Lochini 211.00 outer runway 31 doesn't work NDB for Lochini 435.00 inner runway 31 weak signal but doesn't work. NDB for Kolkhi both 335 and 688 do not work. NDB for Gudauta 935 weak signal and does not work. Don't have a track for Gudauta because I did that in test mode. VAF SUPT And Refueling Caucasus-20191220-115631.trk
