  1. andyfoot, could you post your Voice Attack command list to modify the HMCS profile? I assume its all keyboard shortcuts for the OSB buttons, but curious how you approached it. Thank you
  2. Hello all, I am the process of choosing a new graphics card. I currently have a GTX 295 which seemed to be ok for DCS but the new U1-H1 Huey is kinda choppy.(forgive the pun). I have about a grand to spend and I am looking at the GTX 690. It is about even with two GTX 680's in SLI. The Titan looked interesting as I also do some work in 3DS MAX. But from what I read, the Titan's drivers are not optimized for engineering apps like the higher end Tesla cards. To the guy who was running two Titan's in SLI, do you do any 3d animation and if so, how does the Titan perform? I only game with a single 1920x1200 monitor, but might like to try 3 way surround in the future. The Titan's 6 Gb of Vram looks really good, but the 690 beats it in all the gaming comparisons. I look foward to seeing any suggestions. rayz007
  3. Why do you recommend the Titan? The 690 beats it in all the comparisons. Do you recommend it for gaming or for 3DS Max?
  4. Hi all, I play all of the DCS titles and they seem to play ok with my GTX 295 which I know is old. However, the Huey is dragging a bit. I play with a single monitor at 1920x1200. I have looked at the nvidia offerings and have settled on either a GTX 680 or the 690. I hope to maybe have a 3 monitor surround setup, but that might be a ways off. I also do some 3d animation work in 3ds max and have considered the GTX Titan, but it doesn't really do that much as far as viewports go. Mainly for rendering. So basically do I get the GTX 680 or blow a grand on the GTX 690? I want this card to last me as long as the GTX 295 did, and hope that some future (5 years) DirectX version doesn't make the GTX 690 obsolete. A bit long winded but I have been obsessing over this and I have the means to buy the GTX 690 at this time. Thanks for reading and look foward to advice. rayz007
  5. Hi there. Posted this in the DCS World forum and thought this would be a good place too. Just took some time combining blank Warthog controller templates. These include both the actual controller input names as well as the ID numbers associated with those same controls. Might be helpful remembering the programming of the Warthog for other applications. Just thought I'd share. rayz007 https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B7aN...it?usp=sharing https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B7aN...it?usp=sharing
  6. Thanks for the responses. I've updated the throttle chart as suggested. The original link will pull the updated file. Enjoy. rayz007

  8. Hi krebs20, i have worked with 3dsmax for quite awhile. If you would like to collaborate with me let me know. I can do the modelling and you can do the textures. Let me know. It would be fun.
  9. Inseckt, I have to compliment you on a most entertaining late night read. I just so happened to get a surprising desire to see if I could get to the maximum stated altitude of the A-10C. (45,500 apprrox) I made it to about 34,000 and was learning on the fly (pun intended) I was like oh yeah, maybe i should jettison all that dead weight. Then I was like ok, I cant climb without that annoying stall warning alarm, so i'll set my trim to right before the alarm goes off. This got me only so hight, then I was like wait, I have 1150 rounds of CM. Shoot them off and I get some more room to push higher. I even tried to jettison the lightning Pod and the TGP but couldn't figure that out? Is it even possible? So again, thanks for the interesting read. This sim is so impressive. Thank you so much for this ED, you guys rock! I even think Inseckt was trying to say that too in his own way.
  10. So I am totally geeked out when it comes to situational awareness in this sim. Here's my setup. TM warthog hotas, TracKIR 4 with trackclip pro, VAC voice activation software, and Razer Naga mouse. Only thing I'm missing is rudder pedals. I am currently using the gas and brake pedals from a logitech racing wheel. They work on the Y axis for rudders and are not that bad a substitute, but I will get the saitek combat pro once the funds are available. So thanks to Fish for getting the VAC setup for comms. The hotas is superb as is. If you dont know, the razer naga mouse has 12 programmable buttons on its side that I assigned to pausing and recentering trackir. Some others I mapped to custom snapviews in the cockpit ie CDU. Left and Right MFD's, radios. I modded the snapview.lua according to the post on doing so. I originally planned on just looking at the CDU with the trackIR and hitting pause so I could hit the buttons without my head moving all over the place, but this solution works best. For ie I hit number 5 on the mouse and the CDU is centered on my view, and when I'm finished with it, I hit 5 again on the mouse and my view goes back to normal trackir. Thanks to Fish for the trackir profile and the VAC profile for comms. If anyone has questions on setting this up, just ask. Oh, and I setup the coolie hat up(originally unbound) to spit out F14, which is the activate key for VAC. I used AutoHotKey for that, which is a nifty program to create scripts to bind joystick buttons/axis to keys/macros and still allow the plug and play functionality of the hotas in DCS A-10C.
  11. Looks good. Is that the full manual? Do you feel the binding Will hold up?
  12. here are some pics as promised. Very happy so far.
  13. Hey there. I received the manual on Wed. two days early. I didn't realize that one of Mimeo's printing centers is in Newark NJ, so turnaround time was shortened. I am pleased with how to manual turned out. The velo binding seems strong and I can set the manual open on its own on the table after about 20% into the manual. I will post pics when I get a chance. Its pretty thick at almost 3 inches. In the future I might have printed two volumes and spiral bound them but this is fine. I look forward to lying in bed and reading this tome. The image quality is very sharp and the borders are sufficiently wide so I have no trouble reading since I cant open the manual completely flat due to the velo binding. Well again I'll post pics as soon as I can. Happy flying.
  14. Lol, I remember watching his training video when I purchased Falcon way back in the 90's. The training was really great. I look forward to watching it again. Thanks for the link. Makes me also nostalgic for that Falcon manual. As others have stated, that was probably the best gaming manual of any genre ever included with the software. Can't wait to see how my manual turns out and yes, I will post pics. Btw, my skill level is improving greatly thanks to youtube and the built in training. I'm so impressed with this game. I never really got this good with the black shark. Makes me want to go back and take another stab at it. I also just bought the Thrustmaster Warthog hotas and its every bit as good as it seems. Pricey, but a 'professional', quality piece of gear. With trackir, I'm in hog heaven!
  15. I figured I can print smaller stuff at work on a color laser. I just hope the velo binding is good quality.
