Thanks for that, but "Check bind" is far too cryptic. On my Profile page, I see no mention of Steam. On my Settings page, I see no mention of Steam. In documentation, I find this ... in reference to " find a special Steam account block": Not a word about location of the mystical "Steam Account Block". When I wrote the documentation for our microwave aircraft landing system I created 3 volumes. First (Exec Summary) was 175 pages; second (User's) was 325; third (Installation and Repair) was over 700 pages, with dozens of tables. 12 words about failed authorization and Steam binding would have helped me. p.s. now I remember why I've stayed away from DCS!

After FAIL, Validate, Fail I tried the following: Downloaded, installed and validated, but still NoJoy.

Glide - I somehow had 2 accounts here on Forums over the years (since 2012) with only 1 active now. Have only ever had 1 on Steam. FWIW I logged in on the game using the same credentials as I used here, on Forums.

NB: After doing what I could (see below) I deleted dcs_mt_manifest.bin and dcs_manifest.bin from my aircraft bods but no authorization resulted. I'm chasing my tail. And no, my PC clock does not need to be reset! Can someone tell me what the game is looking for? what's missing / what's in error / how to fix? (for some reason ChinaAssets seemed to have authorized.) I'm looking at quite an investment here ... I moved my game [Steam Version] to a new folder on a new, faster disk and hit this error. I validated files; all good. Consulting documentation I found "Reset PC's clock" (Mine has been fine since 1988!) and also "delete dcs_manifest.bin in module's folder". (To delete also dcs_mt_manifest?) I tested by deleting both of those from my F-15E folder. NoJoy Suggestions? TIA aka Dawks [PIR] p.s. I really did look for a proper forum to ask about this, but found none that was obviously right.

I understand the profit motive to advertising, but I get confused by simple things. You're "flanky" in Discord, yes? Seeing you as "Senior Member" ... branding and commercial money. People get defensive, so I hesitate to here answer the joke you posed on Discord. Isn't it true that what matters most of all is agreeing with whatever senior members say? I mean ... isn't having an independent opinion seen as argumentative? Unless, of course, "seniors" approve. (In my life, that's NCOs. One can't count that officers would dare get involved.) For me and mine, it all starts with 2+2 ... strategy and tactics ... velocity and angles ... squad, fireteam, squadron ... existential honesty? /dks

Yaa, k. I took that to mean that the manual there was out of date. Is why I looked ... and found none at all. Something else odd: I'm reading "DCS World Controller Walk Through" "Although the DCS World Manual has a detailed chapter regarding the setup of input devices ..." There is? I've never found such. Anyone seen such?

I just peeked this link. I see no Combine Arms manual of any sort! Can that be right?

I want to thank all hands for implementing this solution. Having upgraded to Win7 64 and reinstalling not only all my games but all the programs I use for my work, I did not look forward to the snarl of integrating my lovely Ka-50 module. Plop-plop fizz-fizz! thanks so much --Dawks

Just to close this thread off as Resolved Here's what I just wrote to ED staff: I owe you an apology. DCS world is in the background, flying A-10C. Here is what happened: a long time ago ... nearly 2 years ... a squad-mate who also loves helo told me about your Ka-50. I looked at video. I bought the plane. I installed it, and loved it immediately. See that? no problems! Black Shark worked fine! So I thought all was well. I did not know it was 64bit. Everyone assumed that I knew. But I did not. So things got confuse. And it was very frustrating. Now all I need to do is walk through loading my trusty Ka-50 in with the material installed via Steam! good hunting to all --Dawks

#SideBar This is how I got tangled ... drove people nuts: had a great time flying Ka-50 then nothing else. Because I was on XP! :-)

Update: Someone pointed out that A10-C requires 64bit. So I checked on Steam and that's true. Ka-50 ran wonderfully on XP. I don't know how. But I ended up spending $70 on that ... and another $40 on A-10C. HeyHo, my mistake.

"Complete re-install" meant downloading everything again. And using updater. I just came by to add something else: now A-10 standalone no longer works. ... wasted hours today to acheive regression. meh

A-10 was crashing out in World (Has always done so; has never worked. Ka50 has always worked; has never crashed out.) so I did an absolutely fresh install. Result, after all that downloading and installing? A-10 crashes out of World. I think I'm going to give up on DCS. ArmA is PITA, but it works. (And cost less, too!) p.s. I spoke too soon; SU-25, which had been working, crashes out. And my dear Ka-50? it flew for almost 5 minutes ... before crashing out. I enjoyed Ka-50 and A-10 standalone, and didn't resent spending that money, even though installation had been such a pain. Buying World and mods? This has left me resenting the whole business. Waste my money if you must, but don't waste my time! hour after hour of it!

Update - After having banged everything around and trying everything ... ... A-10 actually launched in Instant Action. Once. Once only. Failed in Mission, and now fails in Instant also. no clue ...
