  1. Hi Guys, I just got a Stream Deck (the 15 button variant) and was bummed out that the software is not Windows 10 compatible. Found neat reverse engineered Node.js package to talk to the device directly. The existing KA-50 stream deck integration application (done by the same person who did reverse engineer the stream deck protocol) was not really maintained and did not work for me at all. So I made my own, it has 30+ pages and 300+ buttons so it can reach a LOT of buttons in the cockpit. And is made in a generic way so other aircraft modules can be implemented as well, the KA-50 is just the first one. Sorry for typos/rushed description as I'm in hurry to get ye guys the release before the holidays are over, the project is here: https://github.com/truhlikfredy/dcs-bios-2-stream-deck Hope ye will like it :pilotfly:
  2. It is normal to have different behaviour on the axis than on the keys? When i'm zoomed or in wide the sensitivity is different when using keyboard. When I zoom in the shkval and using axis then it changes shkval direction angle at the same rate as in wide (so in wide it moves slow, in zoomed in it moves too quickly). While keyboard changes the sensitivity and in zoomed it moves at the same speed (so the direction angle changes slower). It is possible to have the same behaviour on the axis like it is on the keyboard?
  3. Where is the file stored? I have BS2 1.1.1.1 and can't find the file location.
  4. Thanks, exactly what I wanted to know. Now the dilema if I should build custom switch or have more time to enjoy the pit itself. PS: Nice video too :)
  5. I get the same error with BS2. In devices.lua the r800 is still present as 48 device, but maybe the interface changed and different methods need to be called?
  6. I'm very curious about that switch, what kind of switch is that from where you got it.
  7. Multiple kit builders are reffering to TriggerHappy specs, but I can't find his posts. When I search for his name I think I found somebody else.
  8. APU switch I tried to search forum, but still I'm not sure if it was already asked. The APU switch, can you turn it to the left, left bottom, right bottom and up? If yes, how did you managed that?
  9. You mean inside the SaveGame dir, there is Log, crash files like *.crash? I have couple of them there. But the game didn't crashed, it freezed. So I think even if I upload the files they won't even from the same day as it freezed. In BS1 there used to be temp directory, where everything was kept, so even on loss of power you had trk file, mission file, some unpacked stuff etc... I'm trying to find this place in BS2. Because now I'm not wiser when I can't get to any log, or info what happened. Even in saved games the South Ossetia Pirates.trk is gameplay before the freeze.
  10. So nobody knows where are the temps for BS2, or why that mission freezes?
  11. I play the South Ossetia Pirates for 7th time. First time I didn't pass the mountain. Second time I was shoot down by Pirates, third and fourth deto. Fifth time I were thinking I will make it, I was very careful, ordered wingman just to clear it little bit before I get into range with cannon to finish last pieces. He was engaging bunker near the lake and on second engagement it stopped. First it looked like mega lag when something needs to be loader from a drive. Then I alt-tabed, task manager say's the process is not responding. So I closed it. Sixth time I crashed wile passing mountain (changed to anti dust for brief moment while engines in power limit). Seventh time almost the same as Fifth, ordering second wave of attacks to the bunker at lake and again no response. So I'm wondering if it happened to anybody else. After so many fails I would like to finish it for a once  With every try I'm little bit wiser but it's starting to get on mine nerves. (specially the freezes, when everything goes well, when I crash or I'm shot down it's my error) I wanted to get from the temp recording or some info. Perhaps taking control at the end and trying to replicate / avoid the situation and see in log files any clues to the no response, but notices there is no temp as in BS1, checked install dir, checked documents where are saves located. So now I don't know If I have something misconfigured and it's misbehaving or the temp location changed from bs1 to bs2.
  12. Sorry for stupid question, but where you got the BS2 manual? I can find only BS1.
  13. Now it can be used as Standalone, Drag&Drop, Send to or Open With When You run it without parameters, it setups resolution, utilities (phantom fix, helios) and then runs luncher, when you are done it closes them and revert back resolution. But when you supply a recorded track or mission then it runs DCS directly (it's faster than running launcher first) and you have always setup resolution, tools and programs as you wanted and when you are done everything is closed. Very handy when I'm in mood just for quick spin and tired to run everything, run launcher, then chose what you want play, wait again, play and when you done close and revert everything. You can create shortcut for this .cmd script and associate icon to it, so it looks nice. Then you can go to c:\Users\%USER%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo\ and copy the shorcut and now you see any mission files in file explorer, right click -> send to -> DCS and you play. The same works when you drag the mission file and drop it over this script. Or associate it. I had WinAMP associated with 'miz' filetype, so I first disabled it in WinAMP, then double clicked mission file, dialog appeared where I clicked 'browse' then found mine script. Checked 'always use the selected program to open this kind of file' and now everytime I just double click on mission files and it lunch them in game. You can do the same with recorded tracks, that's 'trk' filetype. And they are automaticly stored in C:\Users\%USER%\Saved Games\DCS BlackShark 2\Tracks @echo off echo Fredy's launcher (c) 2012 echo Preparing... Vidres.exe /H1024 /V768 /M0 Vidres.exe /H1024 /V768 /M1 start /D "C:\!moje\games\DCS Black Shark 2\PhantomMonitorFix\" phantomMonitorFix.exe start /D "C:\Program Files (x86)\SCSimulations\Helios" HeliosControlCenter.exe echo Starting... IF [%1]==[] goto launcher start /WAIT /D "C:\!moje\games\DCS Black Shark 2\" bin\DCS.exe %1 goto end :launcher start /WAIT /D "C:\!moje\games\DCS Black Shark 2\" bin\Launcher.exe echo press any key when you are done with game pause goto end :end echo Shut down... nircmd closeprocess phantomMonitorFix.exe nircmd closeprocess HeliosControlCenter.exe Vidres.exe /H1920 /V1080 /M0 Vidres.exe /H1920 /V1200 /M1
  14. Thanks, but that's not I wanted. I have already 3 monitors and pretty good Quadro card, but with network capability I would be able extend to as many monitors I want and with cheaper hardware than having 1 ultra fast computer. For example you want to have high details 60fps garantted and for example 6or more monitors. You would have get machine which would lose 80% of it's value just in first year. But having multiple machines you could get cheap mainstream one for arbis and skval and would be enough etc.... Plus having everything on one machine, to get it working with my drivers (which I don't want to change) and mine OS (I don't want install extra OS just for this game) I need to run it in window mode, when I want vsync then I get 50%fps, instead 50-60fps then I have 25-30fps. And the whole thing of Win7 is not as good for gaming as older systems. I have been user of multiple monitors since 1998 and I loved multimonitor solutions as Matrox cards, but now I have feeling that in last years the industry made steps backwards.
  15. Yes it's there. I don't know why I ended in next directory near by Sounds\Effects\Aircrafts\Ka-50. Wasn't sure if you are replacing original or the game has the data packed somewhere and uses different as overide if it finds the file in specified location.
  16. Yes but main point was to get Abris and Schval. Helios is nice but still BlackShark has to render the MFDs.
  17. It took me while to find right tools. And went trough almost dozen tools to change resolution and this is first one what works with win7 and multimonitor setup reliably the way I wanted. You might ask what is the problem? Your monitors native resolution could be pretty much lager than you game is able to work at desired fps, + second monitor at native. So I tried experimenting with couple resolutions. Before this script I used some variations of 3 monitors to see what works best for me. For example in case of running 1920x1200 on main 16:10 monitor and then right to it portrait 800x1280 you would end with canvas 2720x1280. On the bottom of main screen you have now 80 pixels of canvas what are not displayed anywhere. Playing multilayer, or using external views, plan editor or some other stuff and you will miss names of players or some informations what are rendered on bottom left, but are not shown on any screen. So best way for me was to use the same vertical resolution so the canvas will be 100% utilised and every pixel of it will be somewhere shown on monitors. Your LCD works best at native resolution (usually, but not always the maximal resolution), and there could be 1-2 more resolutions which are lower but still looks good. Most non-native resolutions are terrible and it ruins the quality, but you should be lucky and find 1-2. Perhaps you will find 1 common resoltion with the same vertical size and you are done. Don't worry if it's not in aspect ration of the monitor, you can have 4:3 resolution on 16:9 monitor and 16:10 monitor (or other aspec ratios) and compensate for booth in the game. So I ended with some desired resolutions, but I was tired to switch them always before playing and wanted to automate it. So I made this script. It requires vidres and nircmd utility. If you like vidres, then you can buy it for 3 pounds, but the free download one works too. So the script changes resolution on your monitors to the desired one (here I set for both 1024x768 ). Start phantomMonitorFix in background, I need it when I have 2 monitor setup and the secondary monitor is to the left. Then it goes to required game path directory and runs game. When you end the game, it closes PhantomMonitorFix and returns to native resolutions, in my case 1920x1080 and 1920x1200. @echo off Vidres.exe /H1024 /V768 /M0 Vidres.exe /H1024 /V768 /M1 start /D "C:\!moje\games\DCS Black Shark 2\PhantomMonitorFix\" phantomMonitorFix.exe c: cd "C:\!moje\games\DCS Black Shark 2\" bin\Launcher.exe echo press any key when game is done pause nircmd closeprocess phantomMonitorFix.exe Vidres.exe /H1920 /V1080 /M0 Vidres.exe /H1920 /V1200 /M1 The code requires alternation of the paths to yours and it expects to have the vidres and nircmd stored somewhere in enviroment path, so perhaps add this paths to the env, or copy it somewhere where the env path is set. Happy flying :pilotfly:
  18. having own full copkit in living room is ruining the view? For that you need at least the skval, arbis separetly, everything else I would export (like gauges and display them on different device)
  19. That's not bad idea, but I have top specs Lenovo W700DS with all optional extras etc... and it wasn't cheap and I wouldn't describe it as low spec or something. But the machine is more balanced for work (and games also that can properly utilise machines potential). So games that are not multicore get performance hit on mine machine. i7 is more likely for single core gamers and badly written apps, because it can overclock single core if others are not utilised properly. Mine quadcore is almost idling (which is kicking ass of some i7 when it's utilised properly), gpu not utilised fully, I don't see point of getting decent amount of ram, when I have 8GB and not allocated fully and plenty gigs of free ram avaible. Just the way I want play (multiple screens) is not doing great for the game. Asking developer for multicore support has no point even if it's badly required, they know it's required by customers and they know it's not easy to implement when base of the engine wasn't intended to do so. But for example just setting vsync on on win7 has 2x fps drop on multihead screens. Perhaps having 64bit XP machine would be better suite for multimonitor gaming. So way it is I don't have the ideal conditions for the game work as I want to, but it's not due low spec hardware. So having to 2 client running the same game would be most reasonable for me. But is too bad if it's not possible. As I understand it correctly BS1 was possible to do it, but with lags + scripting and BS2 isn't able to do it at all.
  20. Is there a way to export and import information between 2 computers to be able play the same game? What I would like to do is to buy second licence of blackshark2, get another computer, install it there, have different monitor setup there (like arbis etc...). So my first computer wouldn't have to run on dual monitors. And I would get better frame rates. I'm just interested in the possibility, perhaps some scripting would be required etc... But I don't want to reason why I want 2 computers, why I don't want to run on dualhead and why it's better or not from 2 computers etc.... So the sole questions is, it is possible to run 2 computers with 2 separate game installs run as 1 synced game? The practicality is second, if there are some severe lags or other 'hard to overcome' issues? Thank you in advance for any replies.
