  1. Yep it was clearly stated except that I never have any dealings with currency other than the US so I had no idea what that symbol represented... I looked up Croatian currency and saw something completely different so considering this is a lot of cash I wanted to make CERTAIN what I was dealing with.. Thank you for the info... So basically $286 plus shipping of $69... Still wondering if there are any US distributors.. ?
  2. Are there any distributors in the US? Also, what is your currency? I tried to do the online conversion thing and I am not certain what the site is listing for currency..
  3. Have to say I wasn't really that interested in the F5 but I am really enjoying her in 2.0... Only fly in the ointment at this point is I am experiencing VERY long load times.. Loading DCS to the main screen is normal, but when I select the F5 and an Instant Action Mission it seems to sit for a very long time "loading" then the screen blinks and I think it actually starts loading at that point and you get a progress bar but even this part of the load is extremely slow before I finally get to the cockpit... Several minutes to load and it was actually quicker downloading and installing the module than it is to load and run the module. Obviously something amiss here, but I am sure it will get sorted out eventually... Still loads OK albeit slowly and worth the wait...
  4. I see this argument posted all over the place and I can promise you I can see a marked difference... For those that can't... (I am sorry for you?) :(
  5. Whatever happened to the promised Cobra?
  6. FWIW that is exactly what I would do in your situation as long as you don't do a lot of video rendering or other such work that would benefit greatly from the I7..
  7. Well once you have been repeatedly stomped on by this forum the devs get gun shy.. Nobody to blame on that front except us :(
  8. Get a grip buddy.. The integrity check is designed to fix issues with your file system and often means you have a hardware issue with your hard drive.. Or possibly you had a power outage and didn't shut down properly. This is not a DCS issue it is a file system issue so calm down and run some checks on your hardware.. It has nothing to do with cheaters or DRM / copy protection...
  9. DCS Comanche... And then make it some super secret stealth helicopter that has been hidden from us for years that has RWR and current weapons.. (Or next gen weapons) So it is better than the specs that were the real Comanche
  10. Wow well done with that initial post.. Can't argue with any of it when presented like that!
  11. My SWAG would be the Gazelle would be a lot easier to learn with than the R22, but I still think 11 hours for solo is nuts! Maybe 20... (I know you can legally obtain your license here in the states with 30 hours I believe, but everyone I have ever talked to, both instructors and other pilots have all said they don't know anyone personally that has done it that fast...) I think one of the instructors said he had a pilot that solod at 36 hours but that was it...
  12. 11 hours would be way too early (IMHO) for an R22 pilot, but since I don't know what the UK uses for training, maybe theirs is a bit more forgiving, I don't know.. (I think the US uses the Schweitzer Hughes I believe and it is purported to be more stable and easier to pickup than the R22..) Also, it is possible that they have a huge amount of pilot wannabes and use the very quick solo requirement to weed them out...
  13. I have 20+ hours in an R22 and I can tell you that DCS is the closest thing to the real deal as I have ever seen. I have flown all kinds of flight simulators pretty much my whole life and figured that when I tried the R22 it "Would be challenging at first" but "Shouldn't take too long to master" Aaand that was utter bullshit. I still do not have the hover down in the real thing and yet I can hover every module I own.. I CAN say that DCS has been a great help to me with regards to the real thing, but as far as the R22 goes it is damned twitchy! I chuckle at all of the posts about the Gazelle because it is pretty close to how the R22 feels. My instructor told me early on to not try to turn by moving the stick, turn by THINKING about moving the stick.. This helped a lot.. VERY tiny movements.. Anyway, in my case I fly DCS because it is a LOT cheaper than the real thing.. I am no longer flying the real thing because I ran out of cash. Time is purchased in blocks and when it came time to buy the next block, the rate had gone up $100 per hour meaning it was going to cost $423 per flight HOUR to continue training. Since this was simply a fun thing for me to do once I retire, I decided that I can't justify that kind of outlay.. So I walked away and built a kick ass PC for use as a simulator and I can buy a lot of gear for the same cost as a couple of HOURS flight time and get a LOT of use out of all of it for a long time.. I do miss it, but not $423/ hour worth! So in a nutshell.. Can you fly DCS and go fly a real helicopter? I say probably not.. I would say almost definitely not an R22 as that is the twitchiest thing in the world... 10 seconds in on a hover attempt and you start oscillating like a grand father clock.. I have no time in larger helicopters and as I understand it from those that have flown them, they are less twitchy than the R22 so maybe someone very skilled at DCS Huey may be able to pick up a larger helicopter fairly quickly, but I think the vast majority would still struggle... There are many aspects that a simulator cannot simulate such as the noise, the change in your internal balance as the machine moves and turns and rocks etc.. Hell the NOISE is distracting even with the headset on... A LOT of sensory overload involved when flying the real thing that you just can't simulate .. Awesome fun though... And DCS does an amazing job and I am hooked for life!
  14. Easy buddy... Take a deep breath and carefully step away from the keyboard.. It will be alright...
  15. It is important because the sliding issue is not a realistic depiction of the real helicopter. And having a flight simulator by definition means a realistic depiction is kind of the point is it not? And to answer your question Mbot, no, there is no forward thrust provided by the engine it simply powers the shaft for the rotors to provide propulsion..
  16. Just because no provisions have been made for it yet... Does not mean they won't in the future...
  17. Alright that is the 2nd individual that took my statement too strong so apparently my caps on those three words came across much harsher than I intended.. Sorry guys I really wasn't being harsh or confrontational but if multiple folks see it that way then I apologize for that.. All I was trying to say is that with software especially, there is a big difference between deadlines and estimations.. That is all... I just think folks get too worked up when an estimation comes and goes and then the pitch forks come out...
  18. Hmmmm my confrontational attitude.. LOL whatever you say..
  19. And you have no idea what you are talklng about regarding software and software projects.. Besides my friend NOBODY gave a deadline they provided an estimate simply because folks like you absolutely have to have a date to look at whether anyone could possibly know what a reasonable date could be.... DEADLINES and ESTIMATES are not interchangeable terms.
  20. I wasn't complaining about the communication, I was commenting on everyone else whining about the fact that the plane is not ready yesterday. Leatherneck does an awesome job of communicating as does VEAO.. Please read all of the comments not just the latest one and you will understand the context..
  21. Well yeah because hearing absolutely NOTHING for months on end is a much better solution.. Personally, I appreciate the communications from the devs so how about we give them a break and let them work on the modules and not bust their balls every time something doesn't go exactly as planned? I challenge any one of you to give an estimated timeline for ANYTHING over a span of a year or more and have it work out as anticipated, let alone projects of the kind of magnitude the devs have on their plates. Folks sound like a bunch of 4 year olds around here..
  22. ...And here we go again... Once again the community gets their undies in a bunch because what they WANT isn't ready WHEN they want... (Regardless of whether that expectation is reasonable or not..) GOOD GOD
  23. OK sorry you win... I must have had my sarcasm detector turned OFF.. Sorry
