Reshade can cause this problem if it wasn't installed properly. (This was happening to me) Goto (Whatever Drive Letter)\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Bin Look for and delete any of these files if you find them there (Note: Not all of them will necessarily be there) D3D10.DLL D3D11.DLL OPENGL.DLL DXGI.DLL In my case it was DXGI.DLL Also delete the folder reshade-shaders if it's there as well

Try deleting fxo and metashaders2 folders in DRIVE LETTER A B C D :\Users\YOUR USER NAME\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta

Welp. There's always a bunch of reasons things crash. I can verify the crash reporter has worked several times in my case. Doesn't make me better than you . Just saying. There's been other problems where it hasn't. Jesus thank god I got out programming. Like picking fly shite out of pepper.

Seems we lost some Instant action missions after last Beta Update Don't know if it's just me but we were supposed to get a new HARM mission but I don't see it and also some of the old Instant action missions are gone. For instance carrier takeoff ? Anybody else notice this? EDIT So my topic got moved in here at the end of this discussion. So no. I do not have a head injury. Alright then now I get it. Being flung off an aircraft carrier one second after loading the mission is not instant action , it's a mission. Gotcha EDIT

Watch this video and pay attention. Tactics can overcome aircraft limitations. I don't want balance in DCS to sooth the common ego I want realism.

Well maybe everyone in WWII wasn't a lone wolf and people worked together and had wingmen and tactics? Just saying.

I'm kind of in the same boat. I have the Huey and the Shark. My main concern is how close real pilots find the flight model to the real thing. Twin axle rotors aren't so common and the shark has computer assist for flight. It's a one man weapons platform and hunting tanks is really fun in this chopper but flying it would not relate much to anything in real life. The Huey seems to be something close to what a real Huey would fly like (according to people who claim to know) so it's been fun to fly. Now the Gazelle is a light chopper and so it would be a lot more responsive then the big Ole Huey plus it has cool weapon systems. I've read the forums and a lot of people who claim to know say the flight model isn't close to real so that's what's been holding me back. That's my thoughts on it. Be curious to hear whether others recommend or not.

Hey if someone at ED has time to make a bunch of pilot models that a player can choose from in options it wouldn't bother me at all. If it made the immersion greater for some that's fine. Visors covering the face is the best immersion factor for me since attempts at making faces look real seems to be a problem in most video games I've noticed. I also fly without a pilot model in the cockpit that seems good to me. But we're different in our preferences. The more choices the better I think.

So I have been messaged by a banned forum member. He has the solution to this problem. Apparently, the issue with -30 not reading control files correctly is exactly the same as it was when Spit IX CW variant was released - lack of separate Input folder in Saved Games location. create a "P-51D-30-NA" folder in the User/Saved Games/ directory, copy the -25 controls and both your Mustang variants will load and function correctly from the get go. This is a simple fix for ED. Mod please acknowledge bug submitted. Thankyou

OK. So what happened in my case. I ran D-30 Fast mission 1st thing after entering DCS. Result = No Controls. Then In the same session I exited that mission. Did a fast mission with D-25. Result = Controls are back. Then any mission after running the D-25 model the D-30 is ok. So it appears it only happens if D-30 mission is the 1st P-51 plane to load after entering DCS. In other words the D-25 model is the only plane that loads P-51 Real Controls. At no point did I have to copy a backup config file to fix anything. Hope this makes sense.

Found the following bug. Start DCS From Desktop. Select Create Fast Mission Select P-51D -30-NA for aircraft. Run mission. Aircraft has no controls mapped. Solution..... Run any mission with P-51D-25-NA as aircraft first. before running a mission with P-51D-30-NA as P-51 aircraft type. Since the sim only has one category for P-51 Real control I suspect the 30-NA variant doesn't load the controls properly. Not sure if this would happen if you started DCS and immediately ran a user created P-51D-30-NA user mission which would cause some confusion for sure. Hope this helps

I've also noticed no stuttering as well and nice frame rates. Whatever they fixed I hope they don't lose it again lol. It's really great !

Very interesting video. DCS used by real fighter pilot to train to handle stress in combat. He's saying VR is 80 -85 % close to real. Thanks for sharing this.

Well if you're like me you will eventually own them both. I have the Hornet. I expect if the Tomcat is any good I'll not be able to resist it either. The Hornet is awsum even in its alpha state. One of the instant missions is a carrier takeoff. You just move your throttle to full and you get catapulted off the carrier. This will bring a smile to your face involuntarily. Trying to land on the carrier will bring you hours of pleasure and pain. Resistance is futile. You will buy the aircraft.

I'm using the ED Tracker with Opentrack 2.3 . Works perfectly.
